The Tailor and the Cook

We went for dinner to celebrate our son’s 25th birthday. We were seated at the table right in front of the fireplace. We started with a cheese board and then we all ordered different dishes as well as desserts. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed everything. The service was fantastic as well. We can’t wait to come again.

I want to give great praise to this restaurant as it fires on all cylinders. The food was delicious from as simple as the basic leaf salad through the meatloaf. The wine selection was very good. I would most definitely return.

I am very grateful for this establishment. I hope many more restaurants open with their philosophy for food, service, and atmosphere. They set the example of what can be in our region and have sustained successfully.

Some highlights: Fresh, locally grown, ever-evolving menu, autonomy for creativity with the chef, lovely servers and bartenders.

My favorite is the charcuterie board with some good wineand good company.

I wish I could add more stars. Me and my girlfriend had Valentine's day dinner here and it was easily one of the best meals that we've ever had. The space is gorgeous, the fact that most of the food/beverages are locally sourced is mind blowing, and the staff are an easy 10/10. Our server Alexa was very knowledgeable and personable and catered us eloquently throughout the night with well timed check-ins and more! Everyone else that helped us were superb and it was some of the most efficient and relaxing staff we've ever seen. We both work in good service and know that it's not easy, yet this staff were like a well oiled machine and made it look flawlessly easy. Our whole dinner was planned out and courses were coming out just when we were ready, which is no doubt the cause of great communication between the kitchen and the servers. We wish we could thank the chefs personally as much as we praised the front of house staff. This place is amazing and our only regret is not tipping more! We will definitely be back and tell everyone about it in the meantime, and thank you for taking such good care of us on a special night!

I made a reservation for my best friend’s birthday and there were 10 of us in attendance and we had the best time! The drinks, food, and atmosphere were incredible! I loved the new location and the menu had something for everyone in our party. We weren’t rushed and had time to enjoy each other’s company and were served our entrees timely. The desserts and espresso martinis were excellent! Jared made sure we were attended too and our waitress was superb! We thought the price point was good based on appetizers, drinks, and entrees for each person. I will absolutely be back and wish nothing but success in their new location!

Best restaurant in the Utica area, hands down. The corned beef special was the best plate of food I have had in a long time. The meatloaf was wonderful. A great restaurant is one that does everything, even the little things, perfectly. The Tailor and the Cook is just that sort of restaurant. The bar staff and serving team were wonderful. Appetizers were amazing. Just a great experience.

Absolutely loved the new restaurant vibes and the atmosphere. My daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Our waitress was just phenomenal. She made us feel so welcomed and was so attentive. I am hoping the menu will be expanded sometime in the future. I am looking forward to our next dinner there. Best, Belinda G.

Went for dinner with my daughter! It was great from the beginning: very friendly girl welcomed us, then we were lucky enough to get the table right in front of the fireplace 🔥. The service was incredible! The food and drinks were great! Highly recommend this place! ( Don't forget to visit the ladies room! 😉🫣 you will be amazed at it's design 👍)

Fantastic place. The wait staff were prompt, friendly and courteous. My fiancee and I were celebrating our engagement tonight and they pulled out all the stops for us! Complimentary white wine, a candle with our dessert and genuine congratulations from everyone serving us helped make this already special day even more so! Not to mention the food. We've been here before and the menu changes every so often, keeping things fresh. The duck is to DIE FOR! Can't go wrong with a night out at this fantastic restaurant. Four thumbs up. 👍👍👍👍

Yep. Reviews are correct. It is that good. Buttermilk fried chicken with a side of scallops. Service, food, atmosphere are top notch. A grand-slam. Not a “google” five star, a true five star experience.

Impressed beyond words! The culinary experience was truly exceptional – from the delectable dishes to the charming ambiance of the new location. Exploring every section of the menu left us delighted, and the staff's friendly expertise, coupled with their commitment to the farm-to-table concept, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit.

Outstanding time at tailor and the cook! The servers are all incredibly kind and knowledgeable, very helpful with recommendations and questions! The food was delicious as always, and I love the option to get smaller plates to try more things! The menu being seasonal is also super nice to be able to come back and always have some interesting new dish to try!

Delicious and fun time. The cocktails are also delicious, when we were there there was a special one "Duck L'Orange" with duck fat, really good.

We enjoyed the butcher's board and three dishes. Very filling and everything was absolutely fresh and full of flavor.

Definitely a first for me and my husband. Every single dish we ordered was delicious!! Couldn’t remember the name of the dishes. A great place to celebrate special occasions with loved ones.

Absolutely delightful meal. Wait staff was friendly and very knowledgeable on each part of the meal. Excellent food; the highlight was the crime brûlée that had an ice-like top, but an incredible crunch dipping in.

Great food, great staff. I went in with high expectations and I was not disappointed. My first time here and honestly I must admit that I've been missing out, exactly what you're doing right now reading this. Don't take my word for it, instead go there and you'll thank me after. Highly recommend this place for everyone.

Incredible farm to table experience! Great passion for what they do here and we’ve never been disappointed. Wonderful wine selection as well and their staff is knowledgeable about pairings as well as hospitable with their service. Love the atmosphere great bar too. Reservations recommended. The atmosphere is amazing. The new location has a private room which made it so easy to hear. Food was fresh and delightful.
