This is a hidden gem. Fantastic homey atmosphere with large selection and THE BEST coffee I've ever had! We had a great table in the front window. Staff is very friendly as were all of the customers and dogs lol

Gorgeous cafe run by the most delightful couple. Beautiful coffee, fresh baked goods, my favourite breakfast menu ever, divine jams and preserves and a fabulous, cosy community atmosphere. This is a must-stop for anyone visiting Shelter Island, and a daily visit for locals!

One of the last few places both tourists and locals can get a reasonably priced meal. Have been coming to stars cafe since It opened. Stay reasonably priced stars.

So nice to have a reliably solid place like this on the island. Lots of menu options and often very busy due to the limited options on Shelter but the staff is always friendly and working hard.

Star Cafe is awesome! I live in Westchester and needed a breakfast order delivered to a group of guests renting property on Shelter Island. In the middle of their very morning, they helped me place an appropriate order to accommodate my guests and included a hand written message to them on our behalf. They were so patient and our guests enjoyed their very fresh breakfast.
Excellent customer service means EVERYTHING and they definitely have that for sure. I can’t wait to stop in myself.

Great cafe in Shelter Island. The food was great went back everyday this weekend and the staff was so friendly. Highly recommend.

Super casual breakfast and lunch spot with a great selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and some Mexican. Friendly staff and a peaceful environment. Food was better than expected and servings were well worth it. Next time I’m on the island this will definitely be one of my stops.

Stars Cafe has a great menu and everything on it is absolutely delicious AND healthy (I should know cuz I have tried almost everything on it). The atmosphere is comfortable, charming, and very clean. The coffee is organic and tastes great. My fiance and I never miss a chance to come here every time we visit Shelter Island - for breakfast AND lunch.

This place is a must if you visit the island. And if you live on Shelter and have never been here, well, get out of the cave you have been hiding in and indulge in the best breakfast burrito you will ever have tonorrow morning!

The food was great. I had a burrito and it was easily as good as any you'd find at a Tex-Mex restaurant. The cafe itself is cute and homey. I wish there were cafes like this everywhere! It was also the only affordable place to eat on the whole island. I'd definitely go back.

I don’t get all of these bad reviews. It’s a small business with lots of orders to make. It has never EVER disappointed. Try the buffalo chicken, it is goated

Fabulous sweet treats, coffee, as well as salads and sandwiches. Toasted corn muffins and coffee are a match made in heaven.

Relaxed place for morning coffee, breakfast, or an amazing lunch. Sit inside or outdoors and watch the world go by. Best coffee and muffins, delicious French toast, burritos,sandwiches...Pepe and Lidia run this homey mom&pop place and we love it!!!

Very welcoming and relaxed place where you can get great coffee, desserts, breakfasts, and lunches. The seating outside by the road affords a nice opportunity to watch the town go by.

I usually only get the burritos here, but I have tried a lot of the other food and is all quite good. Also the people there are always friendly

Food was great, selection was huge, service was incredible and very accommodating. Baked goods looked and tasted amazing too
