My mother was a patient of Dr. Sun's, and for several years I observed and appreciated her dedication and competence with her patients. When Capital Care became a disappointment, I switched to Doctor Sun's practice. I have been with her for several years. I have found her personable, extremely competent, and a physician with whom I have the utmost confidence. I feel totally at ease to tell her all my issues when ill. Highly recommended.

My apologies to Dr. Sun, I wasn't sure what her intentions were at first and I initially felt she was very intense. From what I've heard, Dr. Sun has a good reputation with the elderly community.

My mom is at an independent retirement community and.at first i felt Dr. Sun was pushing an expensive $1,000 a month medication management program on mom and potentially her husband's small assisted living/nursing home in Rexford (Loving Home for Mom and Dad [FMA FKA Loving Home by the Bluff]) BUT after all is said and done, I feel she had a genuine concern and she is very sensitive to what she observes in her patients.

I do think its hard for my elderly, foreign born mom to understand Dr. Sun because she does speak a bit fast and with an accent.

Also with mom's medication management, mom was generally taking her pills as her past two PCP doctors had her take them so I did feel it was a little hasty to want her to suddenly change multiple pill times, especially when the old formula helped control mom's formerly uncontrollable blood pressure. But Dr. Sun had a valid point that taking the three blood pressure medications at night might make her prone to falls and I have let mom's former PCP know (who is not her PCP again).

Also mom kept her meds in a couple of baskets and Dr. Sun felt she needed a better system and I bought mom a special pill box and we call mom more frequently in the day to make sure she is taking her meds.

Mom did make a little mistake with her diabetes medication because she normally gets 500 mg pills but didn't realize last month they were 1,000 mg, as she no longer sees the pharmacist/tech team in person but recently started getting her meds delivered. Mom did have some issue in early 2023 where she was eating as much when her beloved dog died and the nurse at the ER told me her blood sugar was around 40 and they had troubel getting it to stay at a healthy level. At the time she was taking two diabetes medications and her former doctor removed one and her blood sugar had been pretty good for the past year (a1c under 7 and fasting blood glucose around 70).

So when mom recently had symptoms like low blood sugar she did lower her diabetes medication on her own, like her old doctor did last year when she had the emergency. Mom has been mourning the loss of her husband and house of fifty years and wasn't eating much and got weak in an exercise class and went to the ER. Her blood sugar was high at the ER because staff/friends gave her orange juice, two oranges and a peanut butter sandwich (I think it was around 300). Not sure if this is why Dr. Sun wanted mom to start a second diabetes med but mom wasn't comfortable starting it and Dr. Sun didn't seem to understand mom's complete background. mom should be able to say no to a second diabetes medication.

Dr. Sun also felt mom was incompetent and this is scary because mom's independence is all she has left. It felt a little hasty to say after only meeting mom one time and they couldn't understand each other for a lot of the session due to both being foreigners and having accents. Mom also just got hearing aides and is adjusting to them and she is still grieving father.

I do think Dr. Sun had good intentions and was the most perceptive doctor who pointed a lot of important matters out and it is appreciated.

I don't like here. I would never recommend her as a Doctor there is no way that she is a good doctor. I been for over 20 on some medication but she will not subscribe them. I guess she likes to see people in pain

I would never ever recommend her to anybody. I just vey rarely rate person's poor service online. However I was too disappointed this time. The clinic condition is bad, worn out facilities and test devices. I was hurt when she did some test for me, but she said that was normal. While my previous doctor always asked me if this hurts when performing every step. What worse is she never reply my phones when there was questions of disease after visit, even several messages sent by her front desk. Plus she bills quite big amount. My insurance even doesn't cover it. Plus an additional office visit fee, while already charged for the same visit...It was a very bad experience I've ever have.
