Demarchelier Bistro

Lovely place. I sat outside by the heater, watched the parade, had french wine and opera cake. The day couldn't have been better. Pleasant staff, kind, attentive. Definitely going back.

Stopped for a quick snack and had such an amazing time had to write this review. The host/server was working alone but was very attentive and gave such great service. Would be back again.

My husband and I came here on a Friday night in July for a date night. We were welcomed at the door by the owner, Emily, and decided to sit inside on a hot, steamy night. The decor was beautiful, the service was great and the food was outstanding! I had the soup of the day, which was a cold zucchini soup and my husband had the French onion soup. I then had duck confit and he had the beef stew, which was a special. The portions were huge and the flavors were spot on French. If you are looking for authentic French food, this is the place to be! A perfect date night out with all the right touches.

We had an absolutely excellent meal in this charming bistro. Attention to detail and classic cooking are clearly valued here. Carefully crafted cocktails and mocktails were a delight. For fans of a classic Nicoise salad, this is the place.

Run don’t walk to the early bird Prix Fixe at Demarchalier! We walked by several completely empty restaurants at 5pm and then came across this french bistro bustling with folks enjoying fabulous food at a great deal! $39 for appetizer, entree, and then choice of a glass of wine or dessert. We enjoyed this so much before catching a show at the new Sapan Greenport Theater. Merci beaucoup

Croque monsieur was a great lunch option, and the accompanying salad was a nice palate cleanser between bites.

The rum cake had a lot of rum! My creme brulee was great, very smooth with a rich flavor and a beautiful lightly crunchy top.

This is my favorite restaurant in Greenport, hands down. The food and service is always incredible. My go to is the steak tartare but everything I’ve tried is delicious. This is the one place where I know the food is reliable and always fresh.

I went to this place on the weekend on Sunday for lunch and had a great meal! Soup of local yellow carrots and short rib sandwich with salad were great! I liked everything and I am wondering why I did not come here before!

Fast outdoor dining. We had our old Chihuahua with us and the waiter kindly offered a bowl for our 16 year old fur baby.
The service was top notch and food was excellent. Gouda tomatoes Quiche and Short Rib sandwich on a baguette. Delicious. Highly recommend. Very enjoyable dinning outdoors and pet friendly.

Food is delightful and the ambience is quiet and non pretentious. I had tartine du jour and onion soup with rose. This place is a real gem. I am so happy that a local resident recommended this place to me upon chance.

Authentic French cuisine and cozy atmosphere. Think we’ve tried most items on the menu, since we keep returning here when we’re in Greenport. Very consistent food. Be sure to leave room for their delicious Crepe Suzette!

I had a fabulous early dinner here with my mother. The owner and staff all made us feel incredibly welcome and we left feeling as if we had taken a mini vacation to France. Paté, Salmon, and Baguette were perfect and we look forward to our next visit. I recommend Demarchelier to anyone who enjoys classical French food in a classical French bistro environment.

Absolutely wonderful authentic French Bistro on the North Fork! Right up there with the best French restaurants! A must next time you’re in the area! The service was beyond fantastic as was the meal! We had a great evening and can’t wait to return!

We totally enjoyed our dinner here last night. Emily, the owner was wonderful and her great associate (sorry forgot her name!) make you feel so at home and special. A taste of Paris in Greenport. They even speak French each other and customers who understand it. I had a beet and goat cheese salad and a quiche of French cheeses and meats. My wife had a garden salad and the salmon. This bistro will definitely be on our list if we return. Been 25 years at least since we were in Greenport last. We were looking forward to dinner at Claudio’s. Hard to believe they could have topped the Bistro!!

What a beautiful restaurant. Almost perfect. Just a few adjustments to the interior-- replace the amateurish paintings of American celebrities with something more appropriate to the setting. The baguette bread is a bid hard and I was afraid one of my false teeth were going to pop loose. A European escape.

Food is top notch authentic French quality. Service is outstanding. Emily the owner and her staff live to serve. A must do!!

We started with the cauliflower soup, delectable, best soup I ever tasted. The salmon over lentils was perfectly cook and oh so yummy. Chris had the swordfish with leeks and polenta, was on special and she enjoyed it so much. The owner was delightful. Worth going back

The food was absolutely delicious, I had the salmon with lentils. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere reminded me of dining in a Paris Bistro. I can't wait to come back!

Great vibe feels like a true little French bistro worth the walk up Main Street go once and you will go back. Top it off with great prices.
