Village Bookstore is a quaint and lovely spot. It has a variety of genres. They put time into their handwritten recommendations. Browsing in bookstores with my father was a favorite pastime we shared. You never know who you will meet. Only wish my father Bill could have been with me to met President Bill here on this special day.

While I've never been there, I've only interacted with the store via their website and email, I have to say it is one of the best bookstores I've encountered. They are so friendly and helpful and were able to ship my daughter a book signed and personalized by the author. Thanks for a great experience.

Amazing book store in Pleasantville. I accidentally knocked my coffee on a book (I ended up purchasing it) and the employee there was really understanding about it. They also give you free gift wrapping and it's that nice quality, embossed kind. Next time I'm in NY, I'm stopping there. They really knew their stuff, and had a very nice sized inventory. Not too giant and overwhelming (like a B&N). 2 thumbs up and a round of applause!

Seriously one of the last vestiges of excellent small town independent bookstores anywhere around. Been in business many years and owned by the husband and wife team of Roy and Yvonne. Such a sweet store with excellent selection and great personal touches of reviews of books posted by staff with their favorites. So nice to have knowledgeable people to assist with finding the perfect book for you or to give as a gift. They also always offer free gift wrapping year round!

Old-fashioned, high level of service. Excellent array of books in all categories. Recommendations by staff, frequent buyer bonus card. A good experience, though there could be a larger footprint to accommodate people coming from the nearby Jacob Burns Film Center. It is good to hold a physical book in your hands.

There aren't many places like this anymore. Customer service is professional and helpful, they will order books for you and let you know when they have arrived for pick up. Personalized little notecards on the bestsellers and staff picks. They charge the cover price so there is no "overcharging" they gift wrap, offer suggestions, etc. The service is personable.

The selection here always seems to offer wonderful surprises mixed with old favorites I need to replace in my own library or give as gifts. The staff go above and beyond and seem incurably enthusiastic about books.

Very nice little book shop with cute gifts. They ordered a book for me that they didn't have in stock and it came within a few days. They called me as soon as it was ready for pickup.

Found a book that all of the local Barnes and Noble bookstores did not carry. I was so happy. This bookstore is such a gem for our community!
