What a nice little independent bookshop! I had never visited before, but I got a gift certificate as a present. It is a pleasantly crowded shop, with books and, happily, with customers. It's strong in fiction, science fiction, fantasy, manga and graphic novels--younger adult books--plus a selection of best sellers picked by the staff. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but I found Maggie Smith's most recent book of poetry, and a couple of books to be presents for grandchildren. The staff was really helpful. I'm sure if I had wanted something they would have ordered it. Having discovered Prologue Bookshop, I want to go back

Great bookshop in the heart of downtown. A small shop but loaded with books. Very friendly staff!

Prologue is a cute, small bookshop in the Short North area of Columbus. They have a wide variety of books to offer with options that would please all ages and interests of people. The shop is accessible to all from the street-side and there is no need for stairs or elevators because the shop is one-story. The entrance doors aren't accessible though, needing to be opened by the handles. The aisles are spacious and the shelves are an average height. It is a go-to in this area and is around other accessible stores! The staff is friendly and is sure to help with whatever accommodations are needed. I highly recommend stopping by.

A smaller store, but I certainly found plenty of options! The staff is very friendly, and they have a free rewards program. I will definitely be back!

A super rad new bookstore in the Short North Arts District! My wife bought a signed copy of Nina West’s The You kind of kind for our kiddo.

A small bookshop with absolutely amazing curation and a great aesthetic. Have you ever read a short story and thought, “This was written very intentionally with no wasted words?” This bookshop is like the writer of that story. Everything is intentional. There is no wasted space. The books on the shelves are chosen so well, the genres easy to find. Want to know why they were chosen? There are “shelf talker” cards throughout to explain why they’re there. There are so many staff picks, you know you’re in a space created by readers, for readers. I mean, it’s a bookstore, so yeah, but it’s a really good one. You will find something new, unexpected, and fantastic to read in this shop.

I love Prologue! They have a great selection of children's books, sci-fi, and cookbooks which is what I generally look for. If they don't have an item stocked they do great at getting it in if you fill out the form on their website. The customer service is great and I love their rewards program! Would absolutely recommend as a fun place to browse & shop local!

Beautiful store. Head over if you are looking for cult classics books that these disgusting parents/senators have banned. You can probably find some rare gems hidden in here too

A gentle and intimate bookselling establishment. In this little bookshop, an intriguing selection, a bit different from what you might see other places, is on offer.

One unique aspect are the cards displayed under some of the books detailing, in their own words, a reader's experience with corresponding work!

Staff is friendly and helpful!

I heartily recommended giving this little High St. bookshop your attention!

Uh yeah. If you like books, you'll like it in here. Cometh along my friends. My first visit I was very intrigued by the local selection and ended up purchasing Historic Columbus Crimes. The only book I finished in 2021. I also purchased 11/22/63 (for like the 9th time) and the staff here are awesome. Double repeat customer and will be back again. Highly recommend Prologue Bookshop.

They've got a fantastically curated offering of books, a delightful selection of toys, some super slick knick-knicks, and an excellent staff. If you're trying to peruse the best shops of the Short North, this is a must see.

Bonus points for their unique in-store music choices!

Very warm and welcoming. I had never been there before, but I went for a book signing and it was fantastic to see the author, who was very sweet, and have a chance to walk around. I especially like the notes on the bookshelves describing some of the books.

Super cute, small book store. I really like that they had a 'blind date with a book' section. I was surprised at the amount of genres they had to choose from in such a small space. There were also little gifts and games sections. The man behind the counter was very friendly.

Small so you don't get overwhelmed, notecards on shelves give book recs from workers that feel very personal. Book shelves have lots of diverse writers. I finished a book for the first time in years. This place made me fall in love with reading again.

Prologue and its staff are wonderful! The staff works diligently to complete orders and help customers. I ordered books from Prologue thinking that I would stay in Columbus for the holidays, but then plans changed and they were kind enough to ship my books to Virginia. I cannot speak highly enough of their customer service not to mention their amazing inventory on shelves and the ability to order other books through their website.
