Went here for the Lululemon in Ohio State collab release, and everyone was so friendly! They went above and beyond making sure that people was getting everything that we needed. Even though this was a special event, I can't help but to think that their customer service is like this all the time.

A student or not a student they have everything you will need in mass. The selection is endless and two floors of it. The prices are great as well.

Yesterday [10-6-2022], for the first time in more than 20 years, I visited Barnes and Noble at The Ohio State University at 1598 N. High St. in the "University District" neighborhood of Columbus.

I am one of the many employees of the former Long's Book Store [that for nearly 100 years had been located several blocks north of that location at 1836 N. High St.] who had lost their jobs when Long's Book Store and the OSU Bookstore had merged into one bookstore and had become Barnes and Noble at The Ohio State University at a new location.

The "Long's Book Store" sign at the northwest corner of the building had been installed at the request of Dr. Frank Long, who had been the owner of Long's Book Store for many years until he had died and the business had changed hands. That sign used to display the time of day but that function of the sign now no longer works.

Yesterday's visit to Barnes and Noble at The Ohio State University had been mostly "on behalf of Google Maps" because I had been certain that I would find many "photo opportunities" there [which I did] though I did speak briefly with a woman in the Textbooks department about "the current market" in terms of OSU students buying and selling textbooks.

I never saw anyone who I had known from the former Long's Book Store but of course it has been 22 years since the former Long's Book Store had closed. On the wall in the hallway on the way to the first-floor bathrooms, there are some old photographs of the former Long's Book Store that have mostly deteriorated due to their advanced age.

Between 1979 and 2000, I had worked at the former Long's Commercial Art Supply in the basement of the former Long's Book Store. For many years, Long's Commercial Art Supply had been what had been considered by many to be the best art supply store in central Ohio.

Now, many of the products [particularly "graphic arts" supplies and "engineering" supplies] that Long's Commercial Art Supply had sold have become unnecessary because those tasks are now done almost entirely by computers. Most "art supplies" these days are usually sold by "big box" "art supplies retailers" and/or are ordered "on line" rather than being purchased in a retail setting.

If you want to visit a high-quality "OSU-focused" "college bookstore" that has many products for sale [except that they have only a few art supplies], I recommend Barnes and Noble at The Ohio State University.

But I do recommend that you stay away during the "student rush" period at the beginning of the semester unless you like crowds and long lines.

This location is lovely. They provide textbooks for student at a reduced price. I love the stationary section in the front to purchase my calligraphy set. The staff is friendly and attentive. This location is a two story establishment with an Escalade set of stairs. Upstairs is also lovely. There is even a section in the back with tables for anyone to study with a nice view of high st. I highly recommend this Barnes & Noble to students or just to the general public.

It is a very nice Barnes and Noble compared to other stores around Ohio. It has a Starbucks Coffee inside of it so if you need to get a quick drink in the morning or later in the day you can get one. Very nice and easy layout with escalators to get up and down to the first and second floor.

Avery and Peri are amazing with customer service and so helpful! Avery is the MVP and the only reason I use this location for my textbooks instead of online. Avery was so helpful in getting me my textbooks and made me feel at home! Peri was very helpful in holding a book for me and I genuinely had a great customer service experience with her! Will be coming back to see Avery and Peri again, but maybe not the low quality cashier's. This location has some stationary, apparel, beauty supplies (? Like lip balm and skincare and stuff), backpacks, chargers, and good stuff.

We had a wonderful experience with Doug, the assistant manager of the store on campus. I contacted the store via the website with a request to order a cap and gown set even though OSU had postponed their in person graduation. Doug contacted me via email requesting a good number to call and then called me the next day. He went into the store even though physically closed due to the COVID-19 "stay in place" order and mailed out several graduation sets with complimentary shipping. Perfect customer service at its best during challenging times.

This is an iconic place near campus. It used to be home to Long's Bookstore, but B&N does a great job in keeping with traditions. You'll pretty much have to leave with a new hoodie or tshirt every time you visit.

This is the best place to hang out with friends. They have board games, Wifi, coffee, books and OSU apparel! I am a frequent customer at the Starbucks because I can't live without my coffee. Yesterday, I brought this frappuchino and played board games with my sisters for a few hours until our phones charged again. I will definitely be back for coffee and books later.
