The Kelton House was an absolute delight to visit; from antebellum Ohio to the 1960's, much of the history of central Ohio can be learned here. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and the surrounding area is beautiful as well.

We had the most perfect wedding ceremony at Kelton House (our reception was at another location). It made for a beautiful setting and the areas to get ready were all perfect and beautiful. Our guests were even able to tour the museum before the ceremony!

The Columbus Library was having a Holiday Trolley Hop and this was one of the stops!
The interior was lovely and had lots of dainty antique dishware and furniture. One room had a Lego cathedral that a woman and her son had spent two years constructing! I was so busy admiring it that I forgot to take photos. Go see it yourself, it's excellent!
The basement featured a connection to the underground railround and there were detailed set pieces as well as placards of information.
We were offered snacks and beverages in a backroom facing the garden. There were coloring pages out, too.

This place has become a sort of sanctuary for me. I call it my very on secret garden. It’s a hidden gem in the heart of olde towne east! I have to pinch myself sometimes because I feel so lucky to have access to this bit of nature in the middle of a city. I spend most of my mornings here, as I like to practice grounding fo start my days. The owners take such a good care of this place and it definitely shows. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful space. It’s truly the highlight of where I live.

My husband, my daughter, and I visited Kelton House last week. It was a wonderful place to visit. Jeff, our tour guide, was great as he explained many historical facts about the house and time period as well as the people who lived there. He appeared to love what he was doing as evident by his tone of voice and enthusiasm. I was very impressed with the Kelton House. It was also tastefully decorated for Christmas and a lovely and historical place to visit. We will be back in a couple of years with friends. The carriage house is also a wonderful place to hold parties and events. I give Kelton House an A plus and 5 stars!

We called on a Wednesday because we had some time before we went to the airport. The docent said she was there & to come by & knock. We had a lovely tour of the mansion. The docent was very knowledgeable.

This museum is a beautifully and meticulously preserved Victorian mansion that is steeped in rich history. I went for Fernando's Funeral and enjoyed the event throughly, and now I find myself wanting to go back to do the full tour. Staff/curators were knowledgeable and memorable, they really made us feel welcome and gave us so much interesting information about the house as well as the family who loved, lived and died there.

Such a rich history. Had a very abnormal experience in the dining room. I felt a sudden burst of tears and started bawling my eyes out during the tour. Not sure what happened but I felt fine as soon as I left the room. Beautiful gardens and wonderful staff. If your nearby it's worth the stop.

If you're interested in Ohio history or the Underground Railroad, this is the stop for you. A nicely preserved home with a great story. Plan about two hours to really see everything, but you could also have a wonderful trip in just an hour. Insider tip: Although the $7 admission is quite low, you can save $$ by checking Groupon and buying tickets in advance.

We really enjoyed our visit. The costumed guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the local history. Unlike many similar places, we were allowed to walk in the rooms and see the historical items up close. We visited on a Sunday afternoon...probably the best time to go.

Several women had come to Columbus from Nebraska and South Dakota. I was the host from Columbus. We made an appointment for a tour. It was fantastic!

Beautiful home full of history and intrigue, great stop during our visit to Columbus. The staff was polite and helpful, and gave us a quick layout of the house, we chose the self-guided tour with audio guide. I highly recomend the audio guide for two reasons, without it, it is highly possible to breeze through the house because it isnt that large. And second, it gives a large amount of information about each room, and the artifacts inside.

Hadn’t got the opportunity to visit this place in a few years as a previous and owner of property over100 years old in the historic Bryden area it’s always great to see the changes and improvements made to locations it was even nicer attending an event I’ve attended a wedding here that is just as beautiful Glad I came the parking is challenging if it’s a busy day otherwise on the street parking is OK there is parking on Franklin Avenue which would be nice to know ahead of time so that you don’t get anxiety trying to find a space and get to your event on time.

I’m an interior designer turned flight attendant. When I get the opportunity to go into older homes/buildings around the country I do!

Sarah at the Kelton House showed me around the property and I was fascinated by all the information about the houses interior and the families history! I believe that 90% of the furniture is original from the Kelton family. It was great to see the hand painted china sets and old books. What fascinated me the most were the stories about the family and their evolvement with the Underground Railroad. Thanks again Sarah!
