Very impressed with the service, cost & quality of the poplar doors and trim we purchased from Carter. A shout out to Daryl for the quick response getting us a quote and delivery that was considerably less than other lumberyard/millworks

Was looking for information on sliding door. Got good info and a very competitive price.
Have not ordered yet so will update on that experience.

The first time I called to order shingles for my garage roof I spoke to a very nice and helpful person who offered to order in samples of the colors I was looking at. Unfortunately when I called back a week later I reached Daryll, who put me on hold for 15 minutes, only disconnect me twice in the course of our phone call and then inform me that they didn't have the samples I had asked for. He was rude and unapologetic about the delay which now leaves me scrambling to find the materials for this project. I'm happy to take my business elsewhere.

Needed a few closures and a board for a package purchased from these guys and the head sales manager Darrell was the most horrible customer service rep I have ever had to deal with. He refused that his computer or anyone in the store could make mistakes and not send the right amount of boards and didn't even offer to sell me what I needed or be of any help to get the project completed. He even went as far as to say that it was our fault and that we built it wrong but wouldn't send directions on how to build it. What really makes no sense to me is why if no one makes mistakes is the building completed and I have 3 extra pieces of sheeting, 2 extra posts 30 extra 2x6 of varing length a whole roll of tyvek,10- 2x12 plus to top it all off I have nothing but vented soffit no solid and the two boxes are different colors and the building is built exactly how the print shows and passed all inspections. All these extra materials at the cost of the customer. I own my own construction business and that is not how you do business so my company will not be using Holmes lumber anymore and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The quality of lumber and customer service is horrible.

If I could give less than one star I would I spent $700 dollars on lumber to realize the next day they shorted me 4 boards worth $40 dollars I called to inform them and darrly basically said you signed the ticket sorry you are lying will never go back
