Jay Song Studio

Justin is my favorite mixing engineer to work with. We recently mixed eight songs featuring vocals, acoustic guitar, drums, bass, and some electronic elements. I worked with Justin four years ago or so, and was already totally impressed then, but since then he has improved his skills, tools, and studio even further and this time he was on another level. I had some rough mixes to get the ball rolling, but he really added a TON of refinements, carving out frequencies, automating certain elements so they always come forward at the right moment, etc. My vocals have never sounded so good! My drummer has a great feel and playing style, and Justin knows how to key in to what's good and amplify it. He's got just enough style to give the mix the flair and life it needs, but is transparent enough that the original ideas and recording techniques shine through. He's flexible, comes up with great ideas when there are challenges, is super knowledgeable, works quickly but always does a solid job. He also got pretty good at reading my mind when I was having trouble expressing what I wanted! And he's so damn affordable. Highly recommend.

Justin is a fantastic engineer and a lovely human being to boot. I was working in Cincinnati for a couple of months and needed to record an audiobook. Justin met all my needs for this and was extremely professional, flexible with scheduling and prompt with both his responses and in getting the job done. I can’t so enough how accommodating and talented Justin is. I had a last minute idea to do a song for my fiancé for our upcoming wedding that happened to be in three weeks. I found Justin’s website on the internet and reached out. He was very prompt to respond and was able to fit me in with such short notice. Justin was incredibly helpful from start to finish. He was very communicative and detailed around the process, things to consider, and how to set the project up for success. Justin listened to us, gave advice where he felt it was necessary, and was incredibly collaborative overall.
