Cloak & Dagger

Cloak easily deserves the title of best bar in Cleveland! Everything is fantastic - the dozen or so rotating craft cocktails on offer are complex and interesting and varied enough in flavors that there's guaranteed to be something exciting to try for both experienced gourmands and the pickiest palates. The food is without a doubt the best vegan cuisine in the city, and moreover genuinely tasty on its own merits (alas that the tasting sized portions are small and the price is high, but it’s still worth it). The vibes are peak gothic, and best appreciated on a cold and dark winter night if possible. The only downside to Cloak is that with constantly revolving drink and food menus, there is a serious fear of missing out; prepare your liver and your wallet accordingly for multiple visits.

Note: reservations strongly recommended (indeed, mandatory for large groups and at peak times).

I absolutely loved Cloak & Dagger! Our server was extremely friendly and personable, our cocktails were beautiful and creative - so fun to drink, and the food was outstanding. My girlfriend and I both agree that this is some of the best vegan food that we’ve ever had. Full of flavor! I highly recommend the Carrot Risotto and the French dip sandwich! I can’t wait to return!

Visited Cloak & Dagger, an ALL VEGAN gothic cocktail lounge when I was in Cleveland, OH and it was such a cool experience. 🍹

Staff was very attentive and accomodated us quickly. I got the Ring of the Dead cocktail that comes with a cold brew ice cube. House seasoned popcorn and fries for apps.

For meals we got:

Loved the ambiance and atmosphere in this place! Low light, dark furniture/decor, bookshelves.. It gives speakeasy! Service and drinks were awesome. Dare I say the service is spectacular. Highly recommend making a reservation.

Recently visited the Cloak & Dagger for a second time and can now say that I have been blown away both times I have went and perfection seems to be the norm.

It is really difficult to quantify how much I love this place. Food? Amazing. Cocktails? Out of this world. Atmosphere? Spectacular. Service? Some of the best I have experienced. To top it all off, the fact that they have decided to be a vegan only establishment doesn't seem to have limited their creativity and range at all. I am not vegan and love everything I have had.

If you are on the fence about going, just do it already, but make sure to get reservations. Also, I want to just say that Cloak & Dagger has two great servers/bartenders with Mitch and Ben, they both made each visit something special. I plan on visiting for every new menu.

Very unique place. Food was lite bites and was all vegan. Very intimate, limited seating, we had 3 so we made a reservation and were sat immediately. Drinks were delicious and very unique. When we were sat they immediately brought out a shot…loved this. Our server was amazing and so knowledgeable. Just 1 or 2 you could probably grab a seat at the bar without reservation. Which I think would be amazing because I was trying to watch the bartender, make the drinks from where we were seated and I would’ve loved to front row seat. The lights are turned down. It’s very intimate and dark in there. There is a lot to look at on the walls, I am assuming the music was chosen by the bartenders that evening music was hard/acid rock. It didn’t seem to go with the vibe of the venue, but was not distracting. I had the orange blossom cake, which was an off the menu dessert and WOW. Yum bum!

So first, I had the Strange Waters which was the blue drink. It was wonderful, but then I had the Smaller Acts this was a coffee drink, and was so good. I had the house fries amazing. I also tried the Masa Hush Puppies, I loved them with the chipotle lime butter.

Love this place! It has a great community atmosphere, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, you could tell they loved their jobs. The service was very fast. The plates are small as listed on the menu, but a great “bite” to eat. As a vegetarian and my dining companion a meat-eater, the food was incredibly satisfying. The cocktails were also amazing. Will definitely be going back!

If you wanna hang out in a place with very intriguing decor...amazing staff...and nearly 100% homemade bitters and special mixers for the cocktails....this is the place to be. It's amazing for a night out with your special someone or for a small group, maybe 5-6 max. Very limited seating makes it tough for walk ins...it's mostly reservations at this place. But it's nice because you can walk in...make a reservation that'll be like 45-60mins...then walk down the street to grab a drink while you wait and you're on your way to making a very nice night out, complete with a nice walk in Lincoln Park.

Highly recommend. Our bartender, Mitch,, was EXTREMELY friendly and very informative about the drinks and what they go through in order to make them possible.

The Act and Foot are both amazing and must drink kinda drinks.

I'm not a vegan. I typically do not like vegan food. With that said, Cloak and Dagger does everything right. The atmosphere, the drinks, the food and the service are all top notch.

Cloak and Dagger is an excellent cocktail bar offering a unique selection of drinks. I sampled 'Death by The King' and 'Her Highness', finding both to be quite potent and challenging to drink. 'Death by The King' particularly stood out, growing on me with each sip. The bar boasts a pleasant atmosphere and a convenient location. I would definitely recommend visiting. As of March 2024, each cocktail was 15 USD.

Cocktails were extremely unique here and I loved the dark and dated atmosphere! They were able to make many of their drinks N/A and they were all delicious!!

Absolute perfection. Their expertise in delivering exactly what they are advertising is unparalleled. Morgan was divine in her knowledge, patience, recommendations, and customer service. I told her it was our first time and she made us feel so welcomed and cared for. Every morsel of food was delicious as were the cocktails and the atmosphere was also top notch. We will go there again whenever we are in Cleveland. We loved it!

Love this place! Such a great moody atmosphere. I love the drinks-- they are so well made and it's so obvious that the team there takes pride in their craft. What truly surprised me was their food. It is a vegan menu but it is so DELICIOUS. Highly recommend!

This was the perfect Halloween vibe place, although I think it's this vibe year round. We were greeted & seated to a free round of shots. I'm not a "shot" person, but my friends loved it. Service was prompt, nice, & offered suggestions. I ordered wine, but my friends all ordered cocktails that they enjoyed. My wine was supposed to be Moscato. It was NOT, but whatever 🙄 I heard the cocktails were strong, so you get your money's worth. Oh get that cake. It is so good!

Came for the cocktails. Stayed for the seitan.

“Carnivore” should be my middle name, so a vegan restaurant was the last place I expected to find myself. What can I say? I’m a sucker for inventive mixology (and a clarified, branded ice cube). While I was there, was happy to tuck into excellent fries and a vegan gyro that bears a striking resemblance to the carnivore version. Loved the book-like menu (and that it changes every quarter).

I was genuinely surprised by how good the quality of the all-vegan food was. The Mac and cheese was a special treat. The bartender informed me that three of the cocktails can be made virgin well, and this proved correct. The Swamp Thing in particular stole the show here. Definitely unique food and drinks well worth the special trip!

Been wanting to try this lounge for so long. And they did not disappoint! I am not personally a vegan, but I have worked in vegan rest. and many different bars. The current cocktail list was fantastic and its rotating in different seasons. They were gracious enough to allow me a walk up seat at the bar but reservations are encouraged as its not a huge place but service was quick yet thoughtful. On top of the amazing cocktails the food was so good! Modern vegan fair that honestly passes for Omni-cousine if you close your eyes. I cant wait to come back and bring some friends!

Service was spectacular. Our bartender was great and could make good cocktail suggestions if we provided our preferences . The vegan French dip was soooooo good! Will definitely try to come back once a season to try new menu item. (I’m not vegan but appreciate great food!)

Omg. Drinks are the bomb. We got six small plates to share between 4 guests and it was just right. Best place in Cleveland for vegan fair!!! I’m not even vegan and I loved it. Did I mention the drinks? Drinks were unbelievable custom cocktails.

Easily one of the best cocktail experiences I’ve ever had! Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable about the cocktails. I loved every drink that I had and cannot wait to go back and try more next time in in town.
