Absolutely amazing! My (now husband) and I booked out the entire space for our wedding. We wanted to be able to feel at home and have our immediate families stay with us so we could all spend time together. The accommodations for this could simply not have been achieved anywhere else, and we are so grateful to have had the completely private space and the time with both of our families here at The Cleveland Hostel. We even had a rooftop that we invited our wedding guests to come hang out at both Friday and Saturday night, everyone couldn’t stop talking about how cool that was! Mark was such a sweetheart and made everything seamless from start to finish. The location was unmatched, literally step outside the door and you have coffee, food, retail, breweries, etc within a block. We cannot thank Mark enough for providing this space to make our wedding weekend so special!

Clean, comfortable, modern. My husband and I enjoyed a private room with private bath during a night away with friends. We were just a few steps away from great restaurants and bars. The West Side Market is just across the street. Breakfast and coffee downstairs in the morning was delicious. Oh, and the view from the rooftop bar is amazing!

I had the best time here. It's like a little coffee shop with a hidden hostel above it. So cool, so hip, so comfortable! And the fact that they had vegan options made me super happy. Also, private rooms, so not a community hostel where you're afraid of the others. Quite nice and quiet as well. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cleveland Hostel and Guesthouse. We enjoyed socializing in the shared kitchen and common area. We stayed in a private room with an en suite bath and it was very clean and comfortable! We did not get a chance to check out the rooftop patio so we will be sure to book another stay to fully take advantage of it and the beautiful view!

This place was by far the absolute best place to stay during my visit in downtown Cleveland. The owner is chill, the coffee downstairs is delicious, the rooms are clean, the prices are really reasonable, the rooftop view of tower city is AMAZING, the common room is comfortable, the WiFi is included and fast, the people that stayed were interesting, the bathrooms were kept immaculately clean, and more. There wasn't a single thing I could think of that disappointed me about this place other than the fact that I didn't get to stay longer. If you're in the area and you're a traveller, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

What a wonderful place to stay! Despite our "beyond middle aged years" this was the best place for us! The price is reasonable, the rooms clean. the beds super comfortable and the service excellent! The location within Ohio City with all the unique stores and restaurants as well as easy access to the Cleveland Clinic was a HUGE plus!

We had a private Queen room with a private bathroom last summer, and it was a great stay. The staff is very friendly and the place was immaculate. And you can't beat the price! The rooms are also far more spacious than any other hostel I've been to. Our room had a big chalkboard with messages left from previous travelers (it was cool to see how far people had come from), and the rooftop patio has a wonderful view of the skyline. If I'm ever headed back to Cleveland I'll be staying here again. Highly recommend!

Love this place. It's attached to a great coffee shop, Passengers. They have bagels, lattes, and feature coffee's from around the nation. We got coffee and sat up on the beautiful rooftop patio. You cannot beat the view of Cleveland from up there. The staff is friendly and it's just a great place... And super affordable!

Amazing hostel in a great part of town. Everything was clean and inviting. The beds were comfortable and we had a great view of the city from our window. The rooftop terrace offered an amazing view as well. If I could, I'd give them six out of five stars.

We had an incredible stay - the bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean (smelled clean upon entering), the wifi was good and the hot water ample. The historic accents were a nice touch. We greatly appreciated the convenient free parking, nearby market, the common areas, kitchen and the rooftop patio. We will definitely be staying here again if we swing by Cleveland in the future.

This is a beatific hostel! I highly recommend. The rooftop deck and the downstairs coffee shop is an added bonus. The room was beautiful and clean, as were the bathrooms. I never had to wait to use a bathroom and they are private. They are well located in a cute area with many local shops, eateries, and a bike share right next door. The staff was the very best part. They made us feel right at home the moment we walked in and were full of ideas and suggestions for things to do in the area, even searching for coupons for us.

I stayed here one night last week and was extremely pleased with the experience. It's a very chill atmosphere, clean, well-managed. The staff was very helpful in telling me about things in Cleveland, and were also accommodating when I had some logistical challenges with my luggage after I checked out. I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay! Booked a private queen with a shared bathroom. The staff is friendly, bathrooms were always kept decently clean, and the kitchen area is enormous and well-stocked with cooking utensils. The common areas are cozy, and an added bonus is that the whole place smells like yummy coffee due to the cafe on the first floor.
The only thing I would warn people of is that there is no control of the temperature in the room. If you are sensitive to temperature, this may make your sleep a bit uncomfortable.
I also wish there were peepholes in the door, but that did not effect our stay.
Overall, would highly recommend!

Great place, friendly staff. Bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas are way above hostel standards generally--especially the showers. Roof top patio in summer was exceptional. Coffee shop downstairs is clutch, and the owner is super chill and super knowledgeable about the area. Great neighborhood.

I've been able to stay in hostels around the world and yet the Cleveland Hostel is my most favorite. It has everything you need and nothing you don't. The cafe is great to grab a quick bite or coffee, the second floor communal space has lots of games, but by favorite part is the rooftop access with an awesome view of the city. The surrounding area is great, too. It's walking distance to lots of great restaurants and a short hike to the heart of the city. It's a total home away from home!

Stay here. The prices are budget but the rooms are not. I've stayed in private rooms in hostels in Europe. This place was far better. The rooms and common areas are exceptionally clean. The checkin staff are welcoming. The beds are comfortable. The location is much better than being downtown (free parking across the street)-and downtown is a subway ride or 5 minute drive away.

Very clean, well kept rooms. This is the only hostel in Cleveland. There is a roof top are where you can get a great view of downtown. Plus there is a coffee shop with really good coffee on the ground floor. If you're stopping through Cleveland, or want to stay away from home for a day, I would suggest checking this place out.

I've stayed here many times. Love the rooftop views, proximity to good foods and the large common space.

Some of the rooms tend to be close to poorly sound-proofed ducting which can get very loud, especially in a few of the private rooms that I've used. Though, it's not enough to detract from all of the great elements they have to offer.

Fantastic experience here over the weekend. My girlfriend and I had a private room that was well kept and provided clean towels and wash cloths. Bathrooms were maintained perfectly and with two on each floor we never had to wait to shower even though the building was booked.

The real jewel of the operation is the cafe down stairs run by Trey. Super warm and hospitable he makes an effort to get the best local ingredients and the food and coffee is amazing. Would defintely recommend this joint to any one visiting Cleveland. Way more affordable and a way better experience than you'll get at any hotel in the city.

This is the place to stay when you are visiting Cleveland. Fantastic location, wonderful amenities, incredible staff, and fun rooftop. We recommend the Cleveland Hostel to all of our out of town guests. It’s great for groups or couples. Support a small local business that adds value to the community. Get all the perks of an Airbnb without the uncertainty.
