Welton's Gorge Preserve

This was a nice find. We were looking for a park to walk around while we were in Burton and this place was perfect.

There was a short walk down to the gorge and then an 1.5 mile loop (we skipped the loop)

Very peaceful and scenic.

Worth a look if you’re in the area.

Beautiful trail to explore, easy walking.

This is a great place for an adventure! The pavilion is beautifully done. The trails were clean. The rocks and creek were breathtaking. We found lots of frogs, grasshoppers and salamanders. This is a get hiking trail!

Nice flat loop trail with overlooks to the gorge. Gorge hikes are only done by the park naturalists.

A nice little walk, about 2 1/2 miles. Great scenery.

Awesome! Oops, post-facto, learned that the “gorge is restricted.” Nevertheless, what a thrill “creek-hiking” the entire gorge area (didn’t alter anything natural because I was literally trudging through the water only).

Ohio has a system of parks that is world class. We were out this day looking to explore a new area, and were delighted with everything we saw and heard. The day was sunny, although dark clouds threatened rain. Very romantic. We saw some birds we could not identify, a rabbit, and many red-tailed hawks. We look forward to returning.

I'm glad they opened this place up as a park. Can't wait to see what the rest of the trail looks like when it's done. Parking lot and picnic area are very nice.

Nice little park, not completed yet. We could only walk part of the trail, the rest was closed.

An interesting walk around the gorge through woods and meadow. Nice overlooks with information signs. All new!
