Eldon Russell Park

I can't speak to the trails, but the connecting portion of the Cuyahoga river is incredible for kayaking and canoeing. One of the upstream stops on the Cuyahoga river water trail, it's an easy upstream paddle and return to the park. Much of the river is canopied, making it comfortable even in full sun.

Went kayaking, upstream. Hit 3 tough trees to pass, then 35 minutes up, unpassable tree. Water level is way down. Some stretches as little as 8".

Great place to put into the river and float or whatever. Picnic tables, shelter, and restrooms. Easy access.

Went kayaking from here to white oaks and it was about 15 miles I believe took us 4 and half hours but it was beautiful and so peaceful

Flood plain totally flooded. So much fun to paddle through the trees.

Very peaceful, I've been visiting for over 20 years. Recently did a very subtle makeover and truly kept the beauty of this place intact! Great hiking trails through stunning pines and along the river!

Lovely spot for kayaking and paddle boarding. The river is slow moving and the scenery is quite beautiful, though there are a lot of fallen trees to navigate around.

Excellent place to go. Iron horse saloon allows you to park and eat when you get back from a trip using the "Crooked River" kayak rental that does shuttles from there to Eldon Russell. It's a great family afternoon adventure spot to picnic or kayak. The shuttle makes it very convenient and the nature at this park is always beautiful .

It’s a great place to drop in a kayak. There is a picnic area and a small playground and restrooms are available too. There are trails for hiking though the one we went on was short it was next to the river. I think the highlight of the place though is simply being a good place to set a boat into. I believe that rentals are available too.

Went there with some buddies of mine and we loved it, nice water and generally around 3-4 feet deep.

Beautiful forested oasis near Burton!

Very easy place to put in your kayak or canoe. On a summer weekend there will be several businesses dropping off groups of renters here, but you can manage get away from them if you want.
If you really want to get away from the crowd, about 1/2 mile downstream where the main Cuyahoga turns left, you can go right into Bridge Creek. You will notice immediately that the water becomes clear. Very few people go that way. You can make it almost all the way up to the bridge over Rapids Rd, blocked only because of fallen trees.

It has a pavilion and grills for cookouts. It's right on the river with an area to put in your canoe or kayak. Plenty of parking and walking trails. Very quiet and serene.
