Café Hollander - Downer

Hi like Cafe Hollander. First time to this location. I find their food and beverages to be good and consistent. I now have a favorite dinner meal. I enjoy a couple of appetizer selection. The brussel sprouts and the Currey Peanut Satay. Great textures and flavors.

Stopped in Sunday morning for brunch with my wife and daughter. I had the hot mess which I really enjoyed. I thought the red chili sauce gave it a nice kick. My wife had the cinnamon streusel French toast and my daughter had the breakfast tacos, which she said were some of the best that she said. The fresh avocado, on top of the tacos gave it some really good flavor. The cafe mocha was top notch. The atmosphere was good and the service was really good.

I do not love this location of Milwaukee, but they definitely make the atmosphere inside very nice! There is indoor and outdoor seating. The beverage menu is extensive, especially for the beer drinkers. I've had one of the bloody mary's and the tropical mule before, both very good! I loved the shrimp salad. The cheese curds are great! I recommend having 3 or more people to split them though. The frites cone is good, especially because you get to choose two of their great dips! The Sriracha ranch is my favorite.

Owned by the Lowlands Group, Cafe Hollander offers the same grand cafe experience as the restaurants in their collection. It has a very uniquely Belgian vibe. From the menu offerings (paired with perfect Belgium beer) to the art and decor, Cafe Hollander serves as time capsule taking you back to lowland Europe where beer and good company was part of the culture.

If visiting for the first time I'd suggest getting a table on the upper level if available. You will find great views of Milwaukee's east side.

Great menu options. Very fresh. Avocado toast came cool so if you like it warm just ask. Good dipping sauces. Overall....great place!

Ken & Olivia truly made the experience unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, Olivia's warm greeting set a welcoming tone for the evening. i cannot recommend them highly enough and look forward to returning to enjoy their outstanding service.

Very relaxing place to grab a bite to eat in a really cute part of town. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we could not finish all the food.

The mussels sounded great so i gave them a try, the sauce was amazing, the mussels themselves definitely could have been a bit bigger, but they did taste fresh and I was not disappointed.
Cheese curds were very good and all the sauces are homemade and worth the hype.
Pretzels were also very good and the bier cheese was amazing. Would definitely dine again

I had an excellent dining experience at Cafe Hollander thanks to the exceptional service provided by Dalton. The Crispy Chicken Bowl was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the restaurant. I will definitely be returning for another meal soon!

If you find yourself in the heart of downtown Milwaukee in the wintertime with a group of friends or family I'd highly recommend booking one of their heated igloos to dine in. The view is especially pretty at night with all of the festive lights. Café Hollander offers the most affordable package for igloo dining in the city. You can rent the igloo for $50 to host your party for an hour and a half and that includes two free drink flights (we went with hot cocoa and sangria). They had a variety of delicious dishes and our experience was wonderful. What a fun and unique way to celebrate the season!

I love the QR code option to pay, it makes splitting Bill extremely convenient. The food is good, the staff is friendly. It's a good time.
They also have a gluten-free menu and are very careful about gluten allergies!

I've been here a few times and all my experiences have been great. The staff are really friendly and the food is good! I hope to eat here more often as I will be living closer when I move into my new apartment

Excellent food and service. We had brussel sprouts for appetizer - not overly seasoned or overcooked so that flavor came through. One of us had burger - cooked to perfection, with cheese curds and sweet potato fries and spicy ranch. The other of us had the crispy chicken bowl with crispy broccoli, avocado, quinoa, spicy mayo - also excellent flavor and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for fusion, unique food that is delicious.

All the locations I've been to are great, but this one has a quaint corner location and nice outdoor seating. Street parking, but usually spots within a block.

Food is always delicious. My go to is the chicken, bacon, avocado wrap with sweet potato fries. Never disappoints. We've come here with our kids and the servers were very accommodating.

I take family and friends to Hollander whenever they're in town. Highly recommend

Great drink selection. The decor and overall vibe is very inviting and lively. The staff are friendly and the food is top notch. Will definitely be coming back again with friends and family.

Stopped in for lunch..nice atmosphere and our server Amelia was attentive, and friendly. Bacon, avocado chicken wrap and cheese curds are delish! Will definitely stop by again!

Seems like they have new menus. Miss the old one since that was how I like the waffles and pancakes be done.
Order togo and there was no folks no napkins as it used to be. Eating with bare hands now is my favorite. Never come back :(((

We had brunch at new place today and I'm happy to say I enjoyed it. Cafe Hollander had great tasting food and great customer service. Our servicer Adam was very personalable, attentive and warm. I would indeed recommend Cafe Hollander and definitely would return next time I'm home in Milwaukee visiting.

I had the best experience at this restaurant!! The managers name was Jalen. He greeted us and showed us to our table. Such a great guy. Our servers name was Jake. He was friendly, attentive and professional!!! Our drinks came out quickly and were strong and delicious!! Our food also came out in a timely manner and was hot and delicious. The entire experience was pleasant and fun and I can’t wait to come back again!

I have been going to Hollander for last 10 years and I love their food, atmosphere and service. Other locations( cafe Benelux and Centraal) are great as well. One of my favorite brunch places!

Best grilled cheese and tomato soup. Excellent tap selection. Sat solo at the bar on a busy night. Bartender recommendations based on my taste preferences were on point.
