This is a beautiful regional park in the heart of Sonoma. Wonderful facilities and there is even a skatepark as well! If you're looking for a nice place to eat your lunch or enjoy a cute picnic, then this is place for you.

Awesome hike area. You can choose your hiking route. Some are dead ends though and others go too far away. A few circle around but overall not difficult. I would rate it a 2/5 for difficulty. Plenty of shaded areas and open spaces. You can take lots of rests on the way and there's lots of great picture spots. A small water bottle is probably enough for this area. Walking here is pretty fun. There aren't any dangerous spots so it's also great for kids👍👍👍

The park is nice with lots of grass to play on, there is several picnic area's, bbqs are on site, play area for the kids, paths to the creek area in back of park. Great place for Birthday parties, family gatherings, group gatherings. Lucky supermarket is 5 minute walk or a little longer if your at creek. Definitely 5+ stars

Big open field to run around in. Nice short wooded trails behind the park.

The park was quiet when we were there. Only one other set of kids, in three hours. There were a lot of walkers and a few bikers, but that didn't detract from my kids enjoyment of the play structures. Pleased they had restrooms, shade, ample play options, swings, and sand. Will be back next time we're in town.

I go to Maxwell Park several times a week, year round. It is very pretty with the old growth trees, and landscaping. There is a huge creek with more rustic areas to explore as well as well lit paths in front part of the park. I take my dog for walks and when I go late, I can let her run off leash, if nobody else is around so she can get her exercise. I've taken some beautiful photo's of the area both day and night.

I originally was sent there to exteinayt predators and while dillegently doing so I got hired by /Nature's Peace and Love.since then it is my fav. Place on earth and have been the 0ne most prevalent and have supervised much nature things that no one would believe n e ways. So if u come to maxwell enjoy what misses maxwell set aside in trust for future Sonoma citizens , please practice good common sense and respect the privacy of the park and remember in a true nature preserve you are not even supposed to have a gas engine.! Rule of thumb: do whatever u want and just keep the destruction of nature down below what the rangers do . Less than hypocritical

During the rainy season, late fall into winter, walk here after the fog rolls in at night. The sounds of thousands of frogs in 360 degree surround sound is an experience you will never forget.
