Hyatt Place Salt Lake City/Downtown/The Gateway

Nice Hyatt Place with clean rooms, good breakfast and helpful staff. I forgot my travel toothpaste and they were kind enough to give me one, which is the kind of little gesture that moves a review from four stars to five.

I travel often for business, but this was my first time staying at a hotel in Salt Lake City. The staff who work here are exceptional, especially Brittany and Chelsey who work the front desk. I also received great service from Julia who assisted at breakfast time.

The people who work here are just naturally friendly, kind, and personable. I could honestly say, they're just good humans. I don't know what they do to curate company culture, but they are doing it so well.

Next time I come to town, I will certainly stay here!

Seriously as a cold and weary traveler; The front desk clerk Britney was able to offer aid and comfort while I waited for a ride. Hyatt thank you for having such a kind and understanding staff member as Britney. Made a miserable evening bearable and that makes all the difference.

Everyone here was so helpful and accommodating. The location was great and the rooms we’re very clean.

Was a great room peaceful and was a great stay had a little mishap with the hotel taking a whole extra payment but they were quick to rectify will come again thank you!

We stayed here on a road trip back home. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Sharon at the front desk was very accommodating and made our stay even more enjoyable :)

My wife and I had a great weekend trip in SLC. We booked this hotel for the location. Perfect spot for any event at the Delta center, literally right across the street. The rooms were comfortable, breakfast was good. The only downside was paying for parking, and the limited parking spots available.

The rooms at the Hyatt Place are fantastic. Very spacious and clean. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. You do have to pay for parking ($10/night), so you need to check in before you can park.

I think it’s the best you can get for the price you pay.

We stayed in a king bedroom suite in August, 2023, the rooms were very clean and the breakfast was surprisingly good.
I wish the receptionists were friendlier, but they were still pretty helpful.

Shower pressure way too high. Some neighbouring doors slam too loudly with the auto shutters.
Despite that good quality sleep with no noise from the car park or light ingress. Great breakfast.

From the call to make my reservation to the time I checked out, my experiences were exceptional. I mentioned during my checkout if I was to rate my customer experience from 1 to 100, it would be 100! I was treated respectfully, my needs were accommodated at every level, and I left feeling like I was truly a "guest". Call out to these team members, though I'm sure everyone would have treated my group the same: Front Desk/Guest Services - Robbie, Crystal, Britany and Sharon, Environmental Services (housekeeping) - Gliza. These team members should be acknowledged and recognized for the extraordinary delivery of service!

Location, location, location! Beautifully appointed, clean, well-designed hotel that is close to two Trax Stations (5 minute walk), event centers, shopping, food establishments (if not next door, easy to get to via Trax). Room was clean, beds comfortable; breakfast buffet was well stocked and food was good - enough variety to not leave hungry. Highly recommend this Hyatt Hotel for all mentioned, as well as world-class customer experience!

Exceeds cleanliness, friendliness and modern update expectations for a chain hotel. We booked here to use the pool on the first warm day of the year and it was a pleasant experience! Be warned, however, that if the tree pictured is in bloom…you’ll be offended by the stench. It smells like rotting fish!!

Arrived a little early and still were able to get our room quickly. Rooms are big and spacious. Everything is clean. Jacuzzi was nice. Staff is very friendly especially Robby and Rita. Staff able to get us a taxi to the airport for a good price. Very walkable to a lot of shops and restaurants.

Great experience here, lovely staff, rooms are clean and spacious, and the hotel breakfast is better than most hotels in this price point. Another plus is their standard checkout being noon. Definitely recommend this hotel. Its a great location and easy access as well.

Amazing hotel experience. The rooms are slightly above average, and yes the gym is under construction (not my favorite) however the level of customer service made up for all of it. The manager Robby at the front even went as far to learn how to make my favorite Starbucks drink! I will definitely be staying here next time I visit SLC. Thanks Robby and the Hyatt team!

I have never experienced a more relaxing hotel stay. Effortless access to vehicle front entrance for check-in and rear parking lot. Clean room was expertly laid out and very quiet. Comfortable bed and pillows with extra bedding. The window could be opened slightly for a little fresh air. Coffee was still available at the front desk at noon. No microwave, however. 30-second walk to The Depot for a concert. 10-minute walk to various eateries. I will return!

We attended a Jazz game and stated at this hotel. It's easily in walking distance of the arena and even downtown Salt Lake City shopping. We visited Temple Square and the City Creek mall. The room was clean and the free breakfast was very good. You do have to pay for parking which is a little irritating, but the price seemed reasonable.

Phenomenal experience!! From my arrival to my departure, the team at Hyatt Place were exceptional! The managers and the staff were impeccably friendly and very accommodating. The customer service was stellar. I will absolutely be returning to Salt Lake City and will definitely stay at the Hyatt Place Downtown Gateway when I do 😊!

We were in town for a Jazz game and this Hotel was perfectly convenient. our rooms were nice, clean, and spacious. i would definitely recommend and would stay here again for future games.

The Hyatt Place in Salt Lake City is the perfect place to stay while you enjoy what the city has to offer! We had a delicious steak dinner and then enjoyed the hottub (fits about 4 adults). We stopped by the local Maverik for some snacks and then played games with friends in the lobby by the fireplace.
Breakfast was great and there were different choices for everyone!
