I absolutely love love Mrs.Rowe’s Family Restaurant. I had the meatloaf and it was out of this world fantastic!!!!
Everything we ordered was out hot and delicious.

Delicious food, sweetest hostess and wait staff, reasonable prices, very cute roadside restaurant. They have been open for 70+ years so it must be good. Make sure to leave room for THE PIE!!

Delicious home cooking! Lots of childhood favorites like mom used to make. True comfort food. Home baked rolls and desserts are legendary. Very inexpensive with big portions. Written up in many magazines like Southern Living. Literally right off the highway so it’s a must try. We stop by every time we travel that way.

For the first time ever eating hedear I found the food very good, but just a little bit pricey for my budget. I guess it just depends on how much money you have to whether or not it is pricey to anyone else. The atmosphere was very pleasant and I kind of felt like I was in a fancy restaurant. The only thing that was a little bit disappointing was that the waitress never came back to ask if we wanted refills for our drinks. I'm not sure if it was just because they didn't have a lot of help or some other reason that could have been prevented. Overall, it is a very historical place and I would highly suggest trying it out if I were you

So I have lived here since 2005 and yesterday 9/3/2022 was the first time I had ever been here. My breakfast was amazing. French toast was perfect. The atmosphere is astounding and the employees were very friendly. It wasn’t busy and from what I gather the majority of the customers are regulars. There is beautiful homemade pies and baked goods to purchase. Overall great experience. I wish there was more breakfast variety but what they have is great.

Mrs Rowe’s was very accommodating for our large family (40+) breakfast brunch the morning after our son’s wedding. (Reservations in advance of course.) We had a party/meeting room to use and great buffet options. Biscuits and pancakes were tender, sausage gravy was excellent. They were quick to refill our buffet warmer and coffee carafes while tending to their other customers. It was a great place, we enjoyed our time eating and visiting. Highly recommend!

Everyone there is warm and welcoming. The service is excellent. The food is simple, fresh, and delicious! I asked for crispy bacon - it was perfectly done! The apple butter served with the toast, in addition to jams, was a yummy surprise!

Down home food. Great prices, wonderful friendly staff, great cookies and pies.

Finally had the opportunity to eat here. Had stopped previously but it had always been too crowded. Enjoyed lunch on a Saturday. Was immediately seated. Ordered a ruben and potato salad. It was very tasty and fresh. The others I ate with had chicken tenders, a burger and vegetable soup. The also enjoyed theirs. The 2 kids meals also came with a cookie which they absolutely loved.
Fresh homestyle food that won't break the bank or your wallet. Stop here when you can... You'll enjoy it.

What a delightful surprise. Good southern cooking delivered by a charming lady. The strawberry rhubarb pie was a nice and tasty surprise. I would eat here again.

Tried a local stop for breakfast with my son. Reasonably priced, good variety of items - my son loved the pancakes! Waitress was very attentive/friendly even while juggling multiple tables at the same time. While checking out - it looked like they had several pies/cookies available for sale.

A large old school family restaurant, apparently heavily frequented by the older folk looking for that blue plate special. The meatloaf with gravy was just like grandma used to make it, the Reuben sandwich was juicy, and the seasoned fries hit the spot. Friendly and competent service too. And then there's the homemade pies... It's a lost art. The cherry pie was tart and not too sweet, and the peanut butter creme pie was rich and decadent.

We are traveling through the area and Mrs. Rowe's was recommended to us. There are many familiar chain restaurants in the area but we decided to try Mrs. Rowe's. The place opened in 1947 and looks like it was refurbished mid-century. Yes, the place is worn looking but who cares if the food is good... and it is! We both had trout with Old Bay seasoning, a nice sized serving, which came with your choice of 3 kinds of bread, real butter, and 2 side dishes for $14. Delicious! We took dessert to go...pecan pie and a truffle cookie...also delicious. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The 'decor' was irrelevant because the food and service were so good. Give the place a try!!

Stopped off the interstate to go to Cracker Barrel and saw this little place. Me and the wife we so glad we stopped. Real food that was delicious service was great. Had roast turkey with real mashed potatoes and the chocolate pie was to die for. Wife had turkey Ruben that was awesome. Great place to stop.

Just had late lunch while traveling. Found the food delicious and service excellent. Not our first time eating here and when we realized we would be passing this way we looked forward to stopping. Reading other reviews I was conflicted and hoping it would be as good as we remembered from past visits. It did not disappoint. We always especially like to take home a whole chocolate cream pie. This time we got the pie AND a dozen of their homemade rolls. Wife got the hot turkey sandwich and I got the roast pork dinner. Both were delicious.
UPDATE: When got home and cut the pie, unfortunately it had clabbored and soured. We had put it in the refrigerator in our RV to bring it home. So it had to have gone bad before we purchased it. A call to Mrs Rowes resulted in their apologies and a credit to our card for the price of the pie. This was just an unfortunate occurrence. We will buy their pies again when in the area as other than this time they have always been delicious.

Wow! Unexpectedly great... I got the bbq sandwich for lunch. It was good and the service was so friendly. BUT THEN the cinnamon roll (it was the size of a cake) came. It was warm and delicious and was less than $4. If you are passing by or in town you won’t be disappointed!

Got the 1/4 chicken special with Mac n cheese & collared greens.
The food was out ridiculously fast.
I even commented, wow that was fast!
Not only fast, but it tasted amazing.
We can't wait to make it back out to the Staunton area... We'll be back for sure.

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. Good, pleasant service. Local flavor. Plenty of nice food. 30$ for 2 people for breakfast.
