My family ordered a slice of strawberry cake and hummingbird cake. Both slices are moist and delicious. The hummingbird cake has pineapple and pecans that paired together so wonderfully. The icing was not too sweet. The strawberry cake has the strawberry flavor but not weighed down with tons of strawberries. Both slices were fluffy. We ordered a toffee cookie and a cookies and cream cookie. I’m told they were delicious crunchy and chewy.

We received so many compliments on the taste of our wedding cake from our guests!! It was also beautiful ~ and affordable! We got red velvet with cream cheese filling and a light buttercream frosting. If you don’t like your cake to be too sweet, that was the perfect combination but they also have so many different options. Highly recommend!

Oh man as a picky AF person who likes nothing anywhere most of the time, this place. Wow. Those tarts. Everything. Perfect shell, crisp, correct thickness. And the passion fruit curd, so much flavor in a hard to get flavor. Fantastic. I cannot wait until my next trip back to get more, just disappointed it isn't today.

We had Sugar & Salt do our dessert bar and cutting cake for our wedding. We tasted several cake and dessert options, and it was hard to choose! Our guests loved our dessert bar selections, and our cake was better than we expected! Simple, beautiful, and delicious! Big lemon fan and the lemon pound cake with lemon curd is divine. I really loved my experience working with Sugar + Salt! I sent them two items I wanted for my wedding day - a groom’s cake and a small cutting cake. They certainly delivered! They tasted delicious and were decorated beautifully. They even let me know in advance that there was a festival the day of my wedding, so they let me pick the cakes up a day earlier. I can’t wait to order from them again!

We used Sugar and Salt RVA for our wedding and it was beyond delicious. The cupcake tasting was easy and so was communication from the very start. We could not imagine working with anyone else for our special day. The cakes were light and the buttercream perfect and fluffy - just what we wanted. Cannot recommend them enough!

Super Friendly staff, ordered a dozen cookies for my colleagues at work. they made a fresh batch of cookies for me. All of my colleagues loved them and told me how delicious they were. Will definitely get some more often. I also ordered a piece of cheese cake for myself while they were packing the cookies. that was definitely a good slice of cheese cake.

I can not explain how amazing the customer service is here. I believe I spoke with briana… she was so sweet. They made my baby’s 10th birthday cake with a TWO DAY NOTICE. Not to say that will always happen because I’m sure they are super busy but it’s the willingness to help for me! My daughters cake was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Tasted even better. This place is amazing. My whole family wanted to know where I got it from and loved it! Will be getting all of our family members cakes from here and will refer to everyone inquiring for a cake!

I’m not from Richmond and I planned a last minute wedding. I saw the reviews from sugar and salt and gave them a try. They were affordable and easy to work with! I sent a Pinterest picture and they made a cake that executed the vision way better! The cake tasted AMAZING! They let us customize our flavors so we got chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry and cream cheese layered frosting. I was floored, everyone complemented it. We got other treats from the bakery and everything tasted amazing! Highly recommend this bakery.

Being in the event planning business, we are always sampling new vendors. I had the pleasure of participating in a cake tasting for a wedding. These cakes were light and delicious. I would absolutely recommend them.
The store had cases of beautifully designed goodies. They carry vegan options, but unfortunately I came too late and they were out but they reassured me they have something vegan every day. I will be back soon to try!

Our wedding cake from Sugar and Salt was absolutely incredible. It was truly the dream cake we imagined and then some. We had the entire cake made Gluten Free and it was truly one of the best cakes we had ever had. Sugar and Salt will be utilized again for our creative dessert needs!! Incredible staff to work with as well!

This place is amazing! I ordered my friend a 40th birthday cake and sent them a picture of what we were looking for. They did not disappoint!! Not only was this the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen but also the most delicious! Worth every penny!!!

My daughter’s 50th birthday was a few months ago. I know carrot cake is her favorite, Sugar and Salt did not disappoint. Spectacularly decorated and, without a doubt, the best texture, creaminess, and not overly sweet. Perfection.
