My husband and I spent our honeymoon night in the cabin 33 years ago and returned for an early Valentines Day getaway. Was thrilled to see the cabin looking so great! The tub is awesome! Such a romantic setting. Had all of the amenities we needed. We were warm and cozy and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this spot that is so special to us. Congrats to the owners for preserving what makes this place unique and for giving it your touch of something extra special. We will be back and won’t wait another 33 years!

We had our wedding reception here and rented the cabin..I was apprehensive because these were new owners and was not certain about how it would all turn out. Chase and Stephanie were phenomenal! And the food could not have been any better...there were constant compliments on how amazing the food was. They did a great job of sett7ng up the food and clearing the dishes . They also allowed us plenty of time to clean up the decor and bar area. The cabin is so cozy. One thing I heard throughout our reception was how relaxed everyone felt. It's a true unpretentious venue that made everyone stay that much longer because they enjoyed the day that much. Sitting out by the firepit that evening with the creek sounds was so relaxing. Honestly, I couldn't have picked a better venue. Thank you Chase and Stephanie,! You made my special day perfect! And when I get the photos, I will post them.

My husband and I stayed here last weekend for our 1 year wedding anniversary. On arrival, we were greeted by Sandra, the owner, and she showed us to our room. We stayed in The Paddock, which is the largest room, and I was very (pleasantly) surprised at the updates to the room compared to the photos online. It was beautifully decorated to suit the rustic mill with fresh flowers and comfy linens. We also had champagne, charcuterie and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting for us. Sandra and her son were wonderful hosts and provided info about the local attractions and restaurants. We dined at the B&B for both breakfasts and once for dinner which were delicious. However, no menu was provided in case you have a picky eater on your hands, but I'm sure they will be happy to accommodate any preference. The only down side to this beautiful quaint gem is that we were ready for a hot bath after our hike and the older water system did not permit it. There was also one lamp in our room without a bulb, but not a huge inconvenience. Overall, we had a beautiful stay and we felt very welcome and cared for. Great job, Sandra and son, especially for only being there for a month! We can' wait to come back and see what you've done with it in the future!

Stayed here this weekend. Owner and staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Room was immaculate and very comfortable. Food was delicious. There is a large porch for outdoor dining when the weather is great. Highly recommend.
UPDATE:
It's been 2 years since I left this review. The property has changed hands and is not offering dining. The area doesn't have a large selection for dining. I've not stayed since the property changed hands but I'm hesitant since there is no one on the property to assist guests.
Therefore I would investigate before visiting.

We just had an incredible experience at Osceola Mill Restaurant. Not only was the food delicious, but the ambiance was so warm and inviting. The staff was so friendly, and the owner, Sandy even stopped by to say hello. It was my husband’s birthday, and they graciously brought out slices of homemade key lime and peanut butter pie. Delicious! To top it off, Eli Cook was performing! What a real treat! We will be back for sure!

My fiancĂ© booked a private dining for us here before he proposed to me that day 💍 it was such a lovely experience because the owner went out of her way to prepare a vegan course meal for us ❤ my fiancĂ© isn't vegan and he loved the food. The tiramisu was specially made at a local bakery and the vegan thai meatballs were to die for. Beautiful ambiance by the river, overall amazing experience 😊

Drove from Va beach Checked in for two days as soon as we pulled up it was a very nice environment, about 2 minutes after stepping out of the car we were greeted and told our room was all ready to go and key in the door.

Walked into the room and it just gave off this cozy feeling everything was clean to the T, we had the cabin room which is includes a hot tub!

We ate dinner that night i had got the steak and my wife had chicken both cooked to perfection the waitress was very friendly and tended to us

This is a great place to getaway

Sandy was the best host, we ended up having a ton in common. It was by mistake my wife and I ended up here, but we were extremely happy we did. The cabin was great, falling asleep to the smell of burning firewood and the sound of the creek running. Great hikes near by and great breakfast pancakes. Make her make you her pancakes :) She is the best !!!

Stayed for three nights in August 2020, and I highly recommend Osceola Mill B & B. Sandra and her staff were terrific and accommodating (I am vegetarian). The food is from local farms, the rooms are comfortable, they have a relaxing stream that runs through the property, and there are many local trails near by - this includes a few waterfalls and part of the Appalachian Trail. There is a wonderful rustic quality to this property and it is well kept. I see myself coming back.

We stayed in the cabin and the checkin process was effortless. The dining experience, dinner, breakfast and brunch was so comfortable and well made.
The fresh food really compliments the whole experience, and the friendly staff, Sandy and Paula were great!
The cabin was well equipped to ensure we had everything we needed.

We had a fantastic stay at Osceola Mill. Our room was very spacious and comfortable -- with the water running right outside of our window through the night -- it was lovely. There is no TV in the room -- just a DVD player; there is very poor cell coverage there and Verizon is the only one with service; but having said that -- it was GREAT! The bed was very comfortable. Kevin makes the best omelet we've tasted and is such a great host. We also ate dinner at the Inn and my crab cakes were outstanding and my husband's Steak Diane was cooked perfectly. We will definitely stay there again.

The food is locally sourced and OMG, Chef Mike does some food cookin magic! Delicious! Our room was so beautiful, cozy and everything was so comfortable. I highly recommend a weekend stay or just stop by for some amazing food! I am already planning my next stay! Thank you! You guys are doing something really special there at the Mill! Keep it up!

In the area for a wedding nearby and stumbled across this gem via Google maps. Great location for the wedding at Big Spring Farm and hiking Crab Tree Falls. I felt very welcome and comfortable immediately, enjoyed a great steak dinner in the evening, and awesome omelette in the morning. Cozy and quiet.

I kept the rating a 5 because I own a business and hate to have someone bring my rating down before allowing me to fix it.

After driving 12 hours on the road, we were famished and found this place off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

First let me say the ambiance of this mill/restauraunt is quaint and quite lovely. We were seated outside per our request and it was beautiful. The live music was perfect coming from the window and the young lady who was our server was very sweet. The clam chowder soup was excellent! Here were the problems though...

We ordered 2 orders of the duck dinner at $28 a pop. The duck came out and was truly raw. We tried to cut around the raw and eat it since we were starving, but were unable to chew it.

My son ordered a salad and it took over 45 minutes to get. He watched as we tried to eat while he had nothing. :(

When we were asked how the duck was, I let her know it was raw. She offered to do something about it, however my stomach was already turned. I told her not to worry about it but to let the cook know. She apologized.

At the end of the meal, I asked if there were desserts as I have 3 kids between 9 and 13. She said they had slices of pie/cake. We ordered 3. Guess how much 3 itsy pieces of pie cost??? $27 bucks!!! Holy cow! Who serves a piece of chocolate cake and/or pie for $9 a piece? (This isn't on the French Riviera)lol.

When we got the bill it came to over $145 plus a tip. So $165 bucks later and we really had nothing to show for it but 5 hungry people who drove to a fast food place to fill our unfulfilled bellies. Okay 4 people cause my husband loved the Mushroom Ragu with Puff Pastry. The server did say one piece of pie was on the house because of the duck issue.

Overall the place is set in a beautiful environment with a gorgeous atmosphere with nice people. I do believe the duck dinners should have been taken off the bill even if I said it was fine (by that time, I was just ready to go and famished).

Again, do not get me wrong, if you are going there for a fancy yet off the beaten path date, this place is it for sure. Just remember to check the prices if you are on a budget prior to ordering. And if its not to your liking, request a refund. It would have saved me from paying over $60 for something I could not even eat. z

This place is so cool, and the staff are amazing! My wife and I enjoyed a night there during our 2 year anniversary and the experience was fantastic. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was rustic but comfortable. I highly recommend if you want a quiet getaway in a rural area.

The word “quaint” is exactly what comes to mind when describing the Osceola Mill. A wonderful dining experience - highly impressed with their vegan friendly (farm to table) menu. We visited for lunch and enjoyed an intimate experience, from the friendly staff to the great music and delicious food. Excited to come back for dinner in the near future! Such a hidden gem!

My boyfriend surprised me with this cabin for Valentine's Day weekend. Upon arrival, we quickly noticed how lucky we were to find such a beautiful and wonderful place to rent over the weekend. If you are looking for a nice, quaint, mountain getaway then this is the place for you!!!! Cabin - gorgeous, scenery - breathtaking, people - friendly. We recommend the Crab Tree Vista cabin rental. The proprietors Kim and Kevin were some of the nicest people we've ever met. And Kevin is a mind-blowingly good cook. Get dinner and breakfast at the B&B!! We are looking forward to going back again in the future!

Definitely one of the best places I've ever stayed at and quite reasonably priced as well. Kevin, the host, is one of the friendliest people around but never overbearing. The accommodations a nice, the food is amazing, but Kevin makes the place. Definitely worth the short detour from the Parkway for a nice night or two, or just a wonderful romantic dinner.

Absolutely outstanding. Kevin, the owner and host is one of the friendliest and interesting people I've ever met. He regaled us with tales of the history of the mill as well as Northern NJ (he used to live near where we live now). From arrival to departure, it was one of the best places we've ever stayed. Sure there were some issues like being hot overnight and a stink bug invasion, but you can completely forget these in light of the hospitality and character of the place. From creeky floorboards to the original ceiling beams that were cut in George Washington's time, the mill exudes charm and a fascinating past. Kevin greeted us when we arrived late after a long journey on the BRP and offered to keep the restaurant open for us. We didn't want to impose, so he gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. He then showed us our accommodations and even offered us complimentary healthy glasses of local wine while he walked us through and talked briefly about the history. I loved the charm so much I ended up sitting up for 3 hours reading some of the books in the room while overlooking the mill. In the morning, he prepared breakfast for us which included delicious vegetable omelettes, french toast made from chunky sourdough, and bacon, all locally sourced and incredible. Even the freshly squeezed juice and coffee were delicious. He also has a passion for cars and many car clubs stop here, so he was very interested in our car pick up in SC for which we were travelling. The mill is an incredible place to stay for a night or two when traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway, or even longer to unwind or explore VA. We're already considering a trip back to disconnect and peruse the rest of the library.
