Michaela's Quality Bake Shop

Placed an order for birthday cake, said we could pickup by 2pm on Saturday (today). Earlier today, they called to let us know that the cake is ready. When we arrived, she showed us the cake. The next day, we had the cake at/after church and most of it was eaten and was able to bring some home for us. Evidently, this birthday cake was a hit!

The staff is always working hard but they take the time to welcome you. The cakes and pies are delicious and they make the best cheese cake! They sale cake by the slice so you can try them all!

I've been getting pies from Michaela’s for year's. I give these delicious pies to my clients every year for Thanksgiving. They always get rave reviews! My favorite is the coconut cream. Other favorites are the chocolate chess and the pumpkin. The Thalheimer cakes look delicious too! You can't go wrong with pies and cakes from Michaela’s!

I have to say there was one major problem with my wife's birthday cake - it was so beautiful and artfully done that everyone at the party refused to let us cut it, and we ended up bringing it to work during the week! Seriously, these people did a great job with a custom birthday cake, for a very reasonable price. And the apple turnovers we had were to die for - a dozen disappeared in less than 5 minutes! Highly recommended.

We ordered my daughter's 1st birthday cake from this bakery. It was a Minnie Mouse themed cake that was duplicated from a picture. They did an awesome job designing the cake to my specifications and it tasted delicious! Everyone enjoyed it! We will definitely be repeat customers!

After moving to Richmond, I was thrilled to find a local bakery in my neighborhood! On my first visit, I purchased sampler of several different small baked goods. The cakes, pies, cookies were are all fresh, moist, and well-executed. I was pleased and vowed to return. Each subsequent visit has been just as consistent and just as tasty. They really have a good thing going here! There is one more thing I must mention. I've eaten desserts all over the world, from Michelin Star restaurants down to hole-in-the-joints I won't admit to visiting. Of all the places I can remember, Michaela's has the absolute best plain cheesecake. It is silky, light, and has the perfect level of sweetness. You can buy it by the slice or whole, either way you will come back for more. I've gone for cheesecake so much they recognize me now. If you like desserts, you owe yourself a visit to this fine establishment!

I must say I’m highly impressed! Most people would be willing to settle for quantity or quality but I differ from most. Each time I’ve entered your store regardless of how busy you guys are at that moment, you’ve ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and was extremely professional and courteous. Hats of to you and your team!!!! You haven’t forgotten that you’re in the customer service business but you just happen to have some of the most delicious bakery pastries.

They sell the BEST COCONUT CAKE I’ve ever tasted!!!👍🏽👌🏽✌🏽 I went there on a Saturday and even though they didn’t have the smaller cake I wanted, the cake I got was AWESOME!!!💯💯💯 Can’t wait to try the PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN cake and the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE I’ve been hearing about!!! They created a beautiful and delicious birthday cake for my mother and grandmother(turned 94 years old).

I purchased the 6 layer cake and it was the best cake I have every eaten.The chocolate is not to strong and blends decadent with the yellow cake.I also purchased the eclairs and they were out of this world. This is a 5 star bakery ! Everything was fresh and moist.I can't wait to purchase something different next time.This bakery made my day !

I had the strawberry shortcake! It was sweet and delicious. The cake was moist and I love the added strawberry jelly. It had freshness but also a kind of childlike nostalgia to its taste

Michael is a very generous man and I have the most beautiful long story to share. He saved my life with a cake while he was on vacation and his bakery was closed. Please give him lots of business as I live out of state!

So, I go to the Croaker Spot often for the cake, which is always moist and delicious. I love the chocolate,lemon, pineapple,and strawberry. So, I was surprised to learn today that the cakes come from Michaela's Quality Bakery. I will definitely come by and see what other treats they have. Love, love, love your cakes. Im eating a slice of carrot cake as I type this review. Lol

They have the Thalheimer's 6 layer cake🥰 It is as delicious as you remember. They also have small pies, muffins, filled doughnuts, cinnamon rolls & of course, cakes. They are very friendly & super helpful.

I LOVE this bake shop. I have been a customer for years. Before that were at this location, they were around the corner on North Avenue. They have Always had Awsome deserts. I'm glad the young family members kept it going.🙏🏽

Mr. Michael has the original Thalhimers Six-Layer Cake recipe! Told me himself. If you're a 70's baby you know all about Thalhimers and Miller & Rhodes downtown Broad St. The good ole days lol. My favorite is the Strawberry Shortcake. The best strawberry shortcake on the planet! The End.

This is where my mom has always gotten my brothers and i birthday cakes from. Now, i get my children cakes from here. I love everything about this place. They always come through for me.

A great variety of wonderful treats at super reasonable prices. Always extremely friendly when I come in. Their scones are a personal favorite, as are their slices of cake (especially the red velvet!)
