The view is incredible. You overlook 5 states from this vantage point. The walk to the tower is paved, and there are trails to hike as well, so you get the best of both worlds. I'm looking forward to going back and exploring more of the trails on the next visit. And I want to see it in the summer and fall as well.

Easy access from parking lot with small incline. Beautiful 360 degree view of mountain ranges, landscape and skies. Visit the Norton Reservoir and Flag Rock while in the same area.

Great views! Paved road all the way to the parking area. Had it all to myself today 😬 Wish the original lookout tower was still there but they did a great job replacing it

We stopped by the tower while in the area over Memorial Day weekend. We essentially had the place to ourselves, which was nice for pictures and soaking up the scenery. The parking lot is not huge; it could probably fit about 2 dozen cars. The drive up/down is not for the faint of heart; lots of hairpin turns and steep hills. Make sure you have good brakes! No restroom at the tower. There were two picnic tables if you wanted to bring your lunch. Two paths lead up to the tower itself; a steeper dirt/rock path, and a longer meandering paved path. The 360 degree views are pretty cool, and worth a quick trip here to see.

It's just a very beautiful mountain, when I went here before it got cold there was loads of ladybugs! In the fall I saw a woolly bear caterpillar that was so cute. A great place to look at the view and the bugs.

One of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. We were lucky to have went on a clear day. You could see VA, WVA, Tennessee, Kentucky, and NC! Every direction had the most beautiful Mountain views. Highly recommend going if ever in the area!

This is a beautiful overlook with a paved path to the top. At the parking area there is also a trail people were mountain biking on but we were on our way to the Devil's Bathtub and this was a little detour. Very easy walk up for a gorgeous look at the mountains beyond.

Spectacular views. Was a little smoky from Canadian wildfires buy still amazing. The wildflowers bring in so many butterflies and birds.

It was 12 PM when I took these pictures, unbelievably foggy. We could not see the Mountains for the fog. Still an Awesome sight. Can't wait to go back on a clear day, you can see 5 states from the High Knob Tower 🥰

The gravel path is a straight shot but the paved winding path is a lovely (handicapped accessible) stroll with thistle and blackberry bushes along the trail! Breathtaking panoramic view from the tower!

Absolutely incredible views. It is about a 10 minute drive up off of US 23 but definitely a sight to see. The observation tower is well maintained and wheel chair accessable. There also several miles of hiking trails and well defined mountain biking trail markers.

Beautiful! Go on a clear day for better views. We went when it was misting rain and clouds were low and interfered with the view. Took us a while to find it because GPS took us into the middle of the Forest on a dirt road! We enjoyed this stop. It was close to Pipestem Resort State Park.

Beautiful spot! You can see for miles! The walk to the tower is steep, but not difficult. There is also a paved pathway that winds around the hill to get you to the tower, so if you have someone who is elderly or disabled they can still enjoy the stop. Didn't notice any bathrooms, but there are plenty in Flag Rock Park, which is just below High Knob. There isn't much to do at the tower, so don't go here looking to spend a lot of time. However, the views definately make it a place to not be missed.

Wheelchair accessible entrance is very nice but takes much longer to walk. There is a much shorter gravel path up that's only steep at the very bottom. In the middle of the tower you can hear your echo. Beautiful views!!

The view was fantastic! It has lots of parking and a little picnic area. The walk up to the tower was paved, fairly flat, and appears to be wheelchair accessible.

No one was here when we visited. It was amazing and spooky due to the fog, but that made it more fun! The walk to the tower is short and wheelchair accessible.

Always a neat little place to visit. The only problem is it's often crowded and there's a few trees that need to be thinned out as they completely block the view. The butterflies are pretty awesome though.
