Wimpy and Fritz

Atmosphere and food is fantastic! Here the meat really is the star. The pork is slow cooked for 15 hours to make excellent carnitas. They come served in a corn tortilla topped with pickled vegetables and taste very authentic. All the ingredients tasted very fresh. What I like the most when it comes to Mexican food is the spice and they definitely provide that. Im definitely coming back not just for the tacos but the spice! As a side note the I thought the sides where fantastic

This is definitely one of my top taco places. The food is fresh, authentic and tastes homemade. I wanted to eat two plates because it was so good. The staff were also friendly and nice. I highly recommend going here. Only thing I want to note is that the food is greasy. But to me it is the good kind of grease.

Holy heck, Utah! Why are you hiding this little gem?! Great service, a fun and engaging atmosphere and are you kidding me with these tacos??? The Borracho Por Vida is to die for! I loved my carna asada tacos- they were amazing- but I kept stealing bites of the por Vida tacos. Soooooooo good! I will be back, for sure.

I’m going out and giving this joint 5 stars! Hands down best tacos I’ve had in a long time. From food truck to brick and mortar. The decor, trendy, relaxed and chill vibe. The staff is friendly and service is good. But, the service could have been slow as hell, the tacos would be worth the wait. I would still come back and recommend to everyone. To everyone at Wimpy and Fritz… You Rocked!

(Update: Still delicious food and good service.) Both of us got "THE O.G. TACO PLATE...1 Carne Asada, 1 Al Pastor, and 1 Smoked Carnita served with fideo and beans." Second visit for husband and this is what he ordered both times. First time for me and he said I had to order this. Would suggest this on the first visit if you order tacos because otherwise how will you know which is your favorite when you visit again? Husband's favorite is Al Pastor which, take notice, has pineapple. I love all things Carnita but the Carne Asada was surprisingly good, tender, not dry. I quit ordering Carne Asada tacos because often they were little tough squares of meat and so dry that they required salsa. Still don't know what fideo is but husband was very impressed with this strange dish. The beans were refried and warm so I was wishing for a few tortilla chips to use as a dip (didn't ask but don't remember seeing them on the menu). Excellent food, if a little pricey, but worth it in flavor and presentation. Nice indoor and patio seating. Good service from young waitress. We were there before noon and business was picking up as we left so other people would recommend this place, too.

My wife and I were in the area and wanted to try something new. Glad we did..What a great find! We are from Tucson and love a good taco. Many claim to be great, but most fall short. The tacos we ordered proved Wimpy and Fritz legitimately have a claim for fame!

Everything was fresh, made from scratch (including all their incredible salsas and sauces), and full of flavor. Most importantly, I walked away full!!, which isn't always the case with taco shops/trucks.

Equally great was the service. I hope you'll make the trip to give them a try. You won't be disappointed. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Wimpy and Fritz has fantastic food, especially anything involving the Al pastor pork. I had the birria tacos and my husband the OG - wow. So good. They also serve Fideo instead of rice, which is a more classic Mexican dish, and is basically chopped up spaghetti - don’t be confused that this is rice. It’s not. This is hands down the best Mexican food we’ve had in Utah, not just Ogden.

We have enjoyed brunch here twice and dinner once. I am convinced there isn't a bad dish on the menu. Not to mention they have excellent customer service and atmosphere.
I added pictures of three brunch menu items: Carnita's Hash, Tres Leches got cakes, and Get Sober Torta. Our favorite brunch item was the hash. My friend swears the tree leches pancakes are the best pancakes she has ever had. Not pictured, but our favorite dinner item is Borracho (Barria) tacos. Yum!

No more boring all tastes the same Mexican food!

First time visiting the restaurant, previously ate at the food truck. This isn't your traditional Mexican food joint in a former garage. It's Mexican with attitude!

I got the Borracho tacos which is their take on Birria, tacos. First, the presentation is not a plate that you see on every menu. The tacos are on a taco holder (whatever they're called) and the sides are in their own Mexican style pots (again don't know what they're called). So the foods don't touch.

Instead of refried beans that are pureed and a little bland, they have saucy pinto beans. I thought there was a taste of chipotle pepper but it's not spicy as much as flavorful.

The Spanish rice is lighter and I wish I knew what kind of rice. It has the texture of Rice a Roni and not heavy on the sauce or spices. Very good!

The tacos were hot and crisp. I can't find a menu to see what kind of cheese or meat. The broth you dip it in is far lighter than any I've tried before. It doesn't overpower the tacos.

Nice twist on one of my all time favorites, other than molcajete.

You will be full. I ate them all because they're so good fresh. Plus I was hungry.

The waitress was friendly. The place is fun and it's very clean too.

I’ve heard good things and finally went. The staff was all very friendly. We sat outside, it was a nice atmosphere. I ordered the nachos - so flavorful and huge. My friend orderd the O.G. tacos and said they were amazing. My other friend ordered a beef quesadilla, also amazing. We tried the seasonal draft that they have brewed next door at the brewery. It was so flavorful and smooth. The food came out fast and was perfect.
I definitely recommend. Haille was super rad and an awesome server.

Absolutely the BEST carne asada tacos in the valley. Also, we had the nachos which were just as good. The waitresses were friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Never felt rushed. If your up north (ogden area), put this place on your list to stop by and enjoy a Taco. We ordered the OG Taco plate and Nacho por Dinero. Plenty of food to share between two people.

Had an amazing lunch at this fun new restaurant! Great food and fun atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and I had a good time with my son just hanging out in a cool place with a great vibe. My son loved his burrito and my tacos were great! My son said, "Dad those look like the tacos we had in Mexico." I think that's an awesome compliment because we ate a lot of tacos there and loved them. Well, they didn't disappoint here either. The flavors were great and the sides were unique. Definitely coming back on the regular.

Vegan options!! Very good vegan tacos, the soy chorizo was our favorite. They also were able to do nachos vegan which were great too. Good drink options, overall great little place for lunch or dinner!

Tried the "best tacos in Utah" and I have to say, they were really good as far as food I've tried in Utah...However, as a person who has consumed many a-taco, they're decent at best.
The smoke flavor on the smoked carniras was overpowering and took away from the overall flavor of the taco. There wasn't any sauce available to add, which was a bummer for someone who enjoys some heat. I also wished there was tajin to add to the fruit served on the side, but maybe that's just me.
The vibe was cool. The service was great and very friendly. Overall, I'd try it again.

Oops all gone. To think that we complained that there was no sour cream…. Didn’t need it. I used the beans for dipping and no complaints. My wife hasn’t found food in a while that made her eyes sparkle.

Came on a whim and loved this place! The tacos are 👌🏻🤤 and they have margaritas. Decently priced and my kids loved it too! The service was amazing, everyone very friendly and fast! We will be coming back!

We started going to Wimpy and Fritz when they were in Yes Hell bar. We were excited that they opened their own location when they did. Last night we went in and Bree was our server. She’s our favorite as we’ve had her twice now. She always recommends the best drinks and desserts. We ate the tacos too fast, but I was able to get a picture of the delicious churros they have. The dipping sauce for them changes weekly I believe and they’ve all been fantastic. Wimpy and Fritz never disappoints and we love stopping in everytime. The service, food, drinks, and desserts were all fantastic. Consistency is key with W&F and they never disappoint. Thank you always!

These tacos were amazing and the service was even better! Our waitress (I think her name was Gina or Gino) was so funny, kind, accommodating and gave us FABULOUS suggestions! We will be back! Also, bring back the fish tacos please! 😂🙌🏼 Highly recommend!

Went with some friends to try it out, and it was amazing! Our server was attendant and well mannered. The tacos was excellent, and well priced. I can't wait to take my family there!
