The Dragon's Hoard

If you like board games (or want to get into them), the Dragon’s Hoard is a must-stop. It has everything from card sleeves and specialty dice (both significantly cheaper than I’ve found on Amazon) to a huge selection of games and accessories. We most recently stopped by on a Friday evening, and the place was crowded, mainly with people playing at the two tables in the middle.

The only negative thing I could say about this place is that it has clearly outgrown its small space. I’d love to see it do enough business to be able to expand into a larger shop!

Very good selection of table top games, knowledgeable staff, friendly environment, and lots of room for games! Stop in and talk to anyone, don't be shy, even the MTG players aren't stuck up! They also have drinks and snacks, minis, mtg, and various tournaments.

HOLY POOP THE SELECTION IS HUGE. I found a rare RDI set. Next time I head that way, I am stopping by.

Parking wasn't easy to find, but I was able to park a couple blocks away.

Amazing friendly local game store (FLGS). Surprisingly good selection for the size, especially if you're into some of the more niche games like Battletech.

A wonderful collection of board games, both light and heavy, card games, RPGs, Warhammer, and more. It's a great place!

It's tough to find a good gaming store, but this one definitely applies.

They have multiple weekly games, a wide selection of games, and great dice options.

I'll mainly focus on their Paizo products since that's why I went in there in the first place. They have a TON of Paizo stuff here, from the latest Starfinder modules and adventure paths, to the 2e playtest, to an awesome selection of 1e material, including minis and flip mats.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to chat with us about future stock as well as a quick explanation of all the live games they have available. I'll be back here every time I'm in town.

Awesome place where you'll find lots of geekery! Huge selection of miniatures. Also have: D&D, Pathfinder, board games, loads of dice, Magic:the Gathering and much more! Friendly service.

I pop into game stores whenever I visit a place. I'm a big Battletech guy, and they had a healthy supply of both the miniatures and sourcebooks, to include several that are increasingly rare in printed form.

They also have a collection of Iron Wine Metal miniatures, to include WarShips. I've been to a few gaming stores where Battletech is completely absent even though we're in the golden age of the product. Not so here, I suspect that they are very diligent about keeping stuff topped off.

It's been several years since I've played WH40K and D&D, although both properties seemed well represented so I think you'll probably be good to go if you head there looking for it.

The guy behind the counter readily answered questions about board games(person I was with asked about one they were buying) and didn't B.S. when they didn't know the answer to specific things, so that is always a plus.

The main con is that the game space seems very limited compared to some places I've seen. But I think they had to make a value judgement based upon what space was available.

Next time I'm in Staunton I'll drop in again!

My favorite game store. Harry has been doing this forever, and has all kinds of old books/models, as well as the new stuff. Great space to play, great community. I can't recommend it enough.

I recently visted with an old metal figure that was broken by my cat and the owner helped me fix her up with some jb weld, i appreciate it a TON and she (Tiamat) is proudly back on display after a night of being held together on a makeshift plasticine stand.

This is a very magical place. It provides a service to the community that goes far beyond merely providing hobby supplies and games. The dragons hoard is an embassy for imagination, shining a bright light in the fog of reality, bringing together some of the most creative beings this world has to offer.

Staunton is a treasure trove all round and the dragons horde is one of its jewels. It's a great nerd destination with a wide variety of many hobbies, even the old school rockets! The staff is also super chill and very welcoming.

The Dragon' Hoard is an excellent gaming/hobby store. They have everything I would want for tabletop RPGs. Tons of miniatures,paints, dice and the wideat selection on non D&D rpgs and their supplements. I came for the Cyberpunk core book and left truely impressed. If I lived closer I would be a regular. On second thought it's worth the drive from Charlottesville. I will be back.

The Horde is always a good shopping trip in my opinion. With one of the best board game, ttrpg and miniatures selection in the valley, it's worth a stop in.

My friend and I came in as we were walking downtown last night and we were immediately greeted by the owners. As I walked in, I noticed they had all kinds of Monopoly and was really excited. The person working let me know that they would get any of the versions they had in stock down for me. They were incredibly sweet and told me to enjoy the new game I got. Checking out, the employees made conversation and encouraged us to come back.

I'm not one who's big into games like D&D (which is what this store sells/does primarily), but I will definitely be coming back to look around or just hang out. I felt so welcomed by the staff and everybody was exceptionally kind to me. I've definitely found one of my new favorite shops in downtown Staunton!

My wife and I saw this store while driving through town and decided to stop by. Everybody was very friendly and they have a great selection of a wide variety of games from RPGs to miniatures to Fluxx and other card games. We picked up some new card games and will definitely visit again next time we are in town.

Absolutely loved this place! The most well organized hobby store I have seen! I found exactly what I wanted and quite a few that I didn't know I needed. They have an amazing stock of miniatures. I highly recommend this place. We will be coming back when we're back in town.

The best place in Staunton. Staff is awesome, helpful and no doubt 100+ years of knowledge combined among them in the games they carry. Clearly largest selection in Virginia in most IPs weather it's RPGs or other games while having best space for gaming for all ages.

My kids can't seem to keep me out of the store haha. They love it too so that's a plus. Great place to find game, hobbies stuff and dice dice dice
