La Cabañita Salvadoreña

I am New to Ogden and have been trying a lot of different places and this is one of the best experiences I've had dining in.
We came with our 1 year old baby and the owner, who served us, made sure she had her meal as soon as possible. Then, we got our food. We ordered 2 appetizers and 1 entrée with 2 drinks. Everything was incredible. The yuca with chicharron was so good and my husband said the pastelitos or Empanadas were out of this world.
The food is very simple, yet thought out dishes, which makes it feel very home made and comforting.
I am from Colombia and my husband is American, we eat out a lot and we love exploring different cultures' restaurants and we can both recommend this place 100%.

My parents got me some carry out sopa de res from here as a get well present and it was incredible.

That same day, a couple hours later, my sister and I went and we were very impressed. Restaurant is open, inviting and immaculate. You could probably eat off the floors.

My sister had the horchata and I had a passionfruit fresca. I also noticed that they had Kola champán!! (Think cream soda, but better.)

The lady that took our order was really friendly and really proud of her restaurant. She's not the owner, I think she said she was the cooks wife or something. I don't remember. Whole staff is super neat though, by the end of the night we had chatted with everyone.

I ordered a canoa, my sister ordered the yuca con chicharrón. We both got pupusas. The food was amazing from what I could eat of it!! I've got some residual spidey senses from a recent medical issue that made my pupusas a little too intense for me to finish, but they were amazing from what I did have and my fiancée wolfed down the ones I took home for him. Oh my and the curtido is soooo good. Will definitely be coming back again and again and again.

First time eating pupusas! Thoroughly enjoyed them. I tried the jalapeno and cheese, bean and cheese, and the chicken and cheese. Enjoyed the spicy slaw on the side. So yummy and priced great. I'll make this a regular local spot.

I was thrilled with my visit here. We came as a group of four and they were super accommodating. I tend to be indecisive when making decisions on what to order and the individual serving us was super helpful on educating us about their products. The food came out pretty quick and the flavors were great! My one concern with the place was that they forgot to bring us out one item we ordered, but that was a simple miscommunication that was more than made up for by the rest of the experience. Overall, I would for sure come back

Some of the best tamales I have ever had and the pupusas are the bomb! Highly recommend. Friendly service, good food and chill atmosphere. Thank you for your food and welcoming during my time at Ogden!

Best papusas in Ogden!! I have been to 3 or 4 throughout the state and it's for sure the best I've had. Authentic Salvadorean food! Also try the chinichanga dessert it's AMAZING

The pupusas were awesome! Tried the chicken, jalapeno and cheese and the pork ones...all tasty. Service was very warm and friendly.

Delicious food, nice owners. This is the best Salvadoran food you can get in the Ogden Valley.

The above review was left 4 years ago. Since then, through and during COVID, they were closed for a bit of time and then never officially opened back up very well. They didn't answer phones for a while and hours were inconsistent. As of about 4 months ago, they have new owners and consistent hours and employees again. Food is delicious as always and this is a great place to go for Salvadoran food. My family will keep coming often, as we have for 6 years now.

The best Pupusas I have had in Utah! They are very well prices and the food is amazing. They make wonderful tamales as well. The couple that owns the restaurant are beyond friendly and always go out of there way to make sure our meal is great. If you are in the area this is a must try!

Absolutely amazing!! Not only is the food to die for, but the staff is fantastic!! I was speaking with the owners and telling them how I had always wanted to learn how to make Papusas AND THEY TOOK ME IN BACK TO TEACH ME!! Never in my life have I found a more friendly group of people who make such amazing food! 100/100 would recommend

Up from Salt Lake. Found this place in my travels in Ogden, tamales were amazing filled with excellent quality good cut pork chunks, sauce was very good, my wife loved the papusas best we've had in Utah. My New go to for Central American food. Worth the drive to Ogden.

Friendly people , good prices and their pupusas are super delicious! Their tamarind drink is refreshing, not too sweet, not too sour. Just right. The passion fruit juice is the same

I love this place. As a Guatemalan I respect my neighbors next door in El Salvador. I met the owner once a few years ago and he's a pretty chill guy, very hard working very talented man. The culture felt so much like I was back home though I loved the inside designs and posters on the wall and the ambience of it! Just gives me Nostalgia for Central America again. The food here is great and always fresh, sometimes it does take a little long but thats worth the wait. The service is on point, its always very clean, and the cooks do an awesome job! I recommend this place as one of Ogdens best!
