We just had to stop by this seafood place again during our holiday trip from New York. It has definitely become a bit of a tradition for us.

Christina at the counter really made our visit special. She was so helpful with her recommendations, was very personable, and made great conversation. The food was fantastic as always, was fresh, and full of flavor.

A big thank you for providing yet another wonderful experience. This spot is definitely a must-try for anyone looking for great seafood in Savannah.

As Michaelangelo painted and Michael Jordan played basketball, David and his family have been called to boil crab and boy do they deliver. Had a wonderful experience both in shop and tucking into the meal at home. Blue crabs if you like sweeter meats, Dungeness if you like something punchy like lobster. Get the shrimp with shell on. Phenomenal.

Highly recommend David‘s Crab House. We stopped in during the day on New Year’s Eve to place a dinner order as we weren’t sure what time they would close and wanted to make sure we could get food for dinner. The service was great when we ordered and when we came back to pick up in the evening, we had the pleasure of being greeted by David, the owner. As first timers, David insisted we try a sampler of the food on offer which got our taste buds excited. The food did not disappoint, very tasty low country boil and delicious garlic snow crabs. David’s place is the real deal, good value for money and clearly a popular local haunt going by the number of people picking up their dinner orders when we were there.

We chose to try David's strictly off reviews. This was our 3rd attempt at good seafood while in area and I wished it were our first. We were a little lost when we first walked in but Dave quickly picked us out as new to his establishment and made us feel welcome immediately. Funny dude that kept giving us free samples to try. We got the garlic low country boil for 2, a few devil crab, and crawfish. It was way more than we could eat and half the cost of the others we tried. AND 100% better. Go to David's! You'll love it

I was here 3 years ago and I still remember the sweet person who helped me choose what to eat. She offered her opinions, samples, and her time. Food was amazing!

Great place with great customer service! Thank you, Mr Malcom!
If you're new to the Savanah area, don't be afraid to try new things. Especially as great seafood as this place deserves a try. The neighborhood that this restaurant's in is not the greatest of neighborhood, but be kind, and the locals will treat you with kindness back.

Excellent customer service and the food was DELICIOUS!!! Our family traveled from Jacksonville to Savannah! The owner of the restaurant was very nice and even allowed us to have a taste test. I’ll be back for more!!!!

I searched for the best crab shack in Savanah and through the reviews, I found this gem.
Yes! This is the place. I had actually never had crab and was not disappointed.
This place is legit.
The owner immediately greeted us and helped us determine how much to get of what.

If you’re ever in to or from Florida on I95….Do yourself a favor and detour for 10 minutes! David’s Crab Shack is where it’s at. The food was phenomenal and the People there are Amazing!! Mr David went out if his way to speak with us and gives Way too much food for the price. You won’t be disappointed!! I’ll Stop again

David’s has completely ruined my vacation. Now, no matter where I go for seafood in Hilton Head/Savannah, I’m just going to be comparing it to this place!

Malcolm the owner is exceptional. He goes above and beyond to make you feel like family and welcomed into his space. I got the low country boil and conch, my mom got the crab salad and shrimp. Everything was incredible.
No matter what you get, you won’t be disappointed. But, there’s one thing you must do…
BUY A BOTTLE OF ALYEE SAUCE.

(This review was written by an actual customer, but he’ll tell you he writes them all 😉😂)

Pro tip: if it’s your first time, be sure to tell him you’ve “never been here before.”

Awesome barebones neighborhood carryout spot specializing in crab, including garlic crabs, crab rice, deviled crab, and more. They don’t have hot food at the moment due to COVID however everything I got held up and reheated nicely at home. Delicious spicy crab rice was different than what I typically get up north in Charleston, but I liked the veggies and added kick! They didn’t skimp on the blue crab meat either. The deviled crabs were divine, seemed similar to how they make them on Dafuskie, with almost no filler and just enough seasoning. Garlic crabs were also well prepared and flavorful without too much seasoning although they were a bit small. Blue crab is somewhat scarce and prices are somewhat high this season, so I’m guessing this may be the reason. The meat is still sweet and tender though, so don’t let this stop you from visiting. If you’re a blue crab fan in Savannah, don’t miss David’s!

Delicious, seasoned seafood in a historical neighborhood. This was one of three neighborhood seafood restaurants I wanted to try and it did not disappoint! Garlic shrimp was amazing.

Okay, so I consider myself a bit of a crab connoisseur and Dungeness are definitely my favorite. I’ve had them pretty much everywhere. David’s are by far the best I’ve ever had! They’re garlicky and a bit spicy and cooked to absolute perfection. They’re also very reasonably priced considering how expensive crabs have become these days. The people taking orders were also very friendly and you can just tell have great hearts. I’m so happy to have found this gem in Savannah! I’ve you want authentic low country seafood, stay away from the River area or Broughton and head over to David’s you will not be disappointed!!!

I enjoyed my food at David's. I had the garlic crab, conch, eggs, and deviled crab. The deviled crab was amazing. The garlic crab I couldn't eat enough. I ordered online food was ready in less than 30 mins. Will be back when I stop in Savannah again.

First time in Savannah. Had the garlic lowcountry boil with crab and egg - one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Also had the fortune of chatting with the owner briefly - he seemed like a kind person. I know the place seems unassuming but it’s wonderful. FYI: if you don’t like spice of flavor, stay away!!!!

David's Crab House is always neat and clean with a fresh smell. It's not your typical crab house. I would often ride from the other county and pick up their Seafood. Superb Customer Service!!! The conch are so tender and good! The crabs are full and flavorful! Their shrimp are delicious!!! Today Mr. David was giving food samples of the seafood!!! It's great to know that he cares about what the ppl he serve like!!! 5 Star...Errr-time!!!

Yes! Netta (?) was so helpful and pleasant. We had a chance to sample because we had never been there before. It was a carryout market, but we thought it was a restaurant, but that's okay! The crabs had a different flavor than the plain Old Bay Seasoning. The snow crab legs also had a different flavor--generally all snow crab legs taste the same but these were flavored and delicious. They had conch, crayfish, and several other seafoods. Netta answered our questions throughly and pleasantly. 💜

It was my first trip to Savannah. It was my first time having garlic 🦀. I also had a low country boil. It was good, but the garlic crabs won me over. The gentleman (I'm thinking the owner) was very nice and helpful. He let me try Conch. If you're a Conch lover, you will enjoy it. I was leaving the next morning and wanted to go back and get more to bring home. I was super disappointed to find out they don't open until 2 p.m. What a bummer. This is just a corner restaurant, nothing fancy, BUT the food will have you licking your fingers and going back repeatedly. If/when I am ever in Savannah again, I will definitely return.
