This BREC Launch is great for putting in kayaks & canoes! Judge the water level by how many of the 13 stairs are covered. This bayou (Bayou Fountain) has a fair bit of shade from trees and 90% of the time, it is shallow enough to stand up (if you happen to fall out of your watercraft). Good parking, bathrooms available in the front parking lot.

Chill ride on a calm day. The bayou is surprisingly clean and free of trash. There are some fallen branches and trunks in the water at some places. This little kayak launch is neat. It could be improved even more by installing some water hoses to rinse off the kayaks and wash hands after boating.

A nice location that's easy to get to. Great for both experienced and novice kayakers or canoeing. I went on an organized outing. Usually the bayou is quite quiet.

The setup is very nice for loading and offloading kayaks into the water, the steps going down to the water are very helpful, tho I wish it were sand laid and not mud with gravel layered on it. The bayou is kinda narrow in spaces and has a few downed trees to navigate, but the water is about 7ft deep and it's not a hard navigation by far. There's places to park your vehicles near the launch so you don't have to park by the ball park and walk after unloading and pulling in. I will definitely be back. We only caught one beautiful orange belly sun perch, and he was a small one, but all I wanted today was one for my 60 gallon aquarium at home, so it was perfect!

Beautiful place. Just that while we were there, somebody drove up, got their Christmas tree out of their truck, and threw it into the bayou...

Great place to feel “away from it all,” yet close enough to find help if there ever were an emergency. We recently had storms, so there was some runoff trash. Fallen trees had been freshly sawn, so it’s obviously maintained. I don’t recommend inflatable kayaks on this route—lots of sharp debris...even a few boards with nails poking out. We passed a large alligator that retreated, but another guy was finishing near him and said he lunged for his cork.

Easy and very convenient way to launch the kayaks. The waterways are clean and pretty wide so you're not running into anyone. The fishing is pretty good here as well.

KUDOS TO PaddleBR - dedicated 100% to make this a desirable place. It's beautiful on Bayou Fountain. Can't wait to do it again.

Church is directly across from the launch site. Quaint little church. I was there to clean the sign....make it legible again.
