Motel 6 Baton Rouge, LA - Southeast

You get 100% exactly what you paid for. Pretty sure the pool had diseases evaporating from it, the guy at check in only said "id" to me. First key didn't work. Tarp on part of hotel roof, many boarded windows. All linens were stained, wrinkly, and had holes. Floor in room looked like it hadn't been swept in a month. And pretty sure there was a dried pile of cum next to nightstand. The ceiling fixture was missing and had hanging open wires. Everything reaked like pot and there were no tissues, no extra toilet paper, no blow dryer, no coffee pot, no cups or ice bucket.

I have been at Motel 6 the past three weeks on a business trip and absolutely enjoyed my stay. I used the pool daily. It was very clean and my room was great. The staff is awesome and goes above and beyond to assist. They have great restaurants in the area. I highly recommend this Motel 6!

My family and I evacuated here due to Hurricane Sally. The staff here has been so great. The General Manager, Kathy; has been a God Sent! The rooms were very clean and we enjoyed the Waffle House connected to the hotel. We will definitely be back if we come to the Baton Rouge area.

While I gave an overall 5 star review, there were some problems. The only reason for the 5 star review is due to them refunding part of our money, giving us free WiFi during our stay and offering to heat our food for us. We had originally reserved a room with a microwave and a refrigerator and paid extra to get them. When we get to the room, there's no refrigerator and no microwave. The reservations department (not based at the motel) was not aware this particular motel didn't have any of these rooms available. We had brought perishable food items with us, expecting to be able to refrigerate them. We ended up losing all that food due to spoilage. There was also an issue with the key card reader on our motel room door. We would have to insert and remove the card numerous times (10+ times) each time we wanted to get back into our room. This was finally corrected by changing the battery in card mechanism on the door. The phone in the room was never connected, so we had to use our cell phones for everything. The room did smell nice and was clean, the staff was friendly - especially the manager. As stated, we were given free WiFi during our stay and upon checkout, we were given a partial refund on our stay. That's the only reason for the 5 star rating.

Everytime we stay at this location, the rooms are extra clean and neat. The maids always take care of any needs right away. The receptionists are always friendly and smiling. It is very surprising how nice the motel is for such a affordable price.

Excellent place to stay. I was town for a business trip and enjoyed how the staff very pleasant and professional. The pool was very relaxing and much needed. The rooms were kept up, clean and was overall a very comfortable atmosphere. I also enjoyed how it was uniquely place by a lot of great restaurants that gave me options on where to grab a quick bite and dine-in enjoyment. I highly recommend staying here when in town.

Best Motel 6 that I have stayed at in all my travels for work. Clean rooms, hot coffee in the lobby in the mornings, and a friendly staff. The General Manager, Kathy, was awesome. I will definitely be back.

I was very impressed with your front desk clerk that day. We showed up early and there was a storm that just hit it was raining very bad. The front desk clerk on duty when I'm above and beyond to make sure that they could get us in early even though the room wasn't what we reserved they allowed us to stay there for a few hours until room became available and even called to let me know as soon as it was ready for us. I have been in customer service for many years and I believe she deserves a promotion or Ray because she only went out of her way for me but every person that went into the office while I was standing there. I have stated many hotels and she outshined every front desk clerk of ever came across. If there was a front desk clerk award for the year I would highly recommend her.

I received kind assistance from the desk clerk who was helpful in assisting me to get some important copying done at a nearby store. She was quite pleasant and helpful.

When I found that my room lacked proper towels so that I could bathe, this same woman assisted me in obtaining towels so that I could shower in the morning. She also helped me to obtain computer services so that I could use my laptop.

Please note that there appears to be a malfunction in the wake-up system at this Motel 6. Although this same young lady immediately programmed my room for a 5 a. m. wake-up call, I received no call -- though I watched her program the phone system.

I reported that same problem to the other desk clerk when I left about 5:15 a.m. and noted that it was NOT the fault of the first desk clerk. I know that this issue needs to be addressed for future clients who may not have been as fortunate as I in waking up at the correct time themselves.

Room #115

Pros:
1.Friendly Staff.
-Front desk lady, upon arrival, was very welcoming and accommodating to all our requests. ((non smoking room near the pool)) -The staff that we would see walking around always acknowledged us when passing by with a simple "hello, how is your day?"

2.Clean and comfortable room.
-The floors, counter, tub and toilet were all clean.
-Beds were comfortable, clean sheets, with 2 fluffy, super soft pillows.
-Hot water and great water pressure in the shower.

3.Location.
- The hotel is walking distance from waffle house which was convenient for us. Plus, who doesn't love waffle house!?
-There's also other great restaurants less than a mile drive. Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, Joe's Crabshack just to name a few.
-We were in town for BCSF @ the LSU Tiger Stadium and this hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive from there.

Cons:
1. The parking.
-If you request a pool view room ((as we did)), prepare to park on the side of the hotel no where near your room, or in the back side of the hotel and walking to your room because there's no parking near the pool.

2.The pool.
- The color was more green than blue and it had some type of yellowish slimy stuff floating on top. Someone did come and clean off that slimy stuff, but I wasn't interested in getting in after seeing it.
-If you choose a room near the pool, keep in mind the noise level is high while the pool is open. Yelling and music are to be expected.

3. Strange smell.
- The bathroom had a strong sewage smell. We don't know if it was coming from the vent, up from the toilet ((which was clean and neither of us had used the bathroom)) or maybe even through the bath tub plumbing. It wasn't strong enough to make the entire room smell bad, but we kept the bathroom door closed.

4.The AC or lack there of
-The unit had a broken cover so there was no way to direct which direction the air would blow.
-We had it on 66° and had to sleep on top of the blankets because we were sweating.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel. We felt safe and the few flaws weren't anything major. You know the saying "You get what you pay for"? Well that's the way you should look at this hotel. Its worth the money you're spending. It's inexpensive and conveniently located.

I enjoyed my stay at this Motel 6. Everything was great starting with the check in clerk, she was on top of her game and even called me to let me know when a room was available to keep me from driving there unnecessarily. My room was real clean and I really enjoyed my overnight stay there. I would highly recommend this Motel 6 location to anyone.

I have not stayed at this property in a couple of trips to BR. This property has had some nice upgrades. Better TV's, the fence next to Waffle House, clean grounds. My6 promo price brought me back to stay at this property. I will stay again on the next trip to BR. Henry the front desk manager, called me immediately when I left my debit card at the credit card machine at check-in. Nice job Henry!

The manager at this location is a very sweet woman! I needed help and even though it was an inconvenience she helped me! Location is great also! My room was clean and they gave me a room in the back like I requested so I could be close to grass for my dog that I brought with me. VERY dog friendly!

Front desk staff on pm and am shifts were helpful and friendly. Good value and exactly what I needed. Thank you. AC unit was a little old/not cooling as strongly as newer units but it was not uncomfortable either

I've stayed at this location for work a handful of times. The staff has always been very kind and considerate. My room was very clean even though it was an older building. Will stay again.

Friendly and professional staff. The woman at the front desk made everything a breeze, even though I made a mistake when booking. Definitely the place to stay if you want to be taken care of. I highly recommend this Motel 6.

The Staff where fantastic and room was clean and easily lockable not like another chain in New Jersey. Would come back and stay if in the area. Staff do need pay rises for other customers who want the world for a small price.

I always get multiple rooms for my contractors and we have never had any problems at this Motel6 Ms.Keyon always make her guest feel welcome and she always help me when I call about reservations. All smiles when I hear her voice because I know she’s going to sure that her guest are satisfied I would like to take the time out to say Thank You again

For less than $60 a night I could ask for more. A clean room, friendly helpful staff, and and doors that lock. I am well satisfied. The rooms are really clean, juwt none of the frills you pay for at other hotels that I dont really use anyway.

Room was clean and no roaches as others had noted. We did only have one large towel and one wash cloth though for the two of us.
