Elk River Falls

Went on a long hike up the hill for 5 hour both ways at first because the entrance was not totally clear. Night fall came so didn't find it. However, went back the following day after reading review and that helped. It was beautiful.

Easy walk to the falls. You can go up to the edge or hike to the bottom. Took our little dogs and we were able to hike it with ease. Very pretty!

Beautiful little falls! Not much of a hike from the parking area. Some stairs down to below the falls leads to a viewing area. Lots of cool spots to explore and take pics. I would love to come back and fish here. Saw lots of trout both above and below the falls.

We love this spot, specially when you can beat the crowds. Parking is limited, so expect to wait for a spot on the weekends unless you get there early. Very well kept and plenty of warning given signs about the slippery rocks 🪨. Those slippery 🪨’s are no joke! Stay safe.

This trail was tranquil yet exciting. The falls were gorgeous and the scenery looked surreal. The walk to get to the falls wasn’t bad at all, however, if you visit please be careful because it’s very stumpy and rocky and you can fall. Also, if you want to see the falls from down below, be ready to carefully climb down a few rocks and stairs! It was fun and worth it!

Beautiful waterfall. Short walk to get to the top of the waterfall. Super curvy road to get there so take it slow. Absolutely gorgeous.

Family and I took a chance on this trail while on vacation. Had previously attempted the Otter Falls Trail but it was far too cold and difficult for us (with the kids). However, Elk River Falls was perfect for us! It's a short distance with a beautiful payoff. There is a steep climb down to the rocks but as long as you take your time you'll be fine. Definitely worth the trip!

Small but beautiful with swimming holes if you dare the cold waters. (Which this year was nice!) Short but rough because of tree roots. Worth it. Seasoned hikers would not think twice about the trail

Absolutely amazing falls. Huge pools below for swimming safely. Little hard moving around down to falls if you are not able or have very small kids. 5 min hike down below falls. 100% worth checking out!!

One of the best waterfalls and creek we've seen. It was perfect for our 6 month old Boykin Spaniel puppy. She played at the beach for hours.

The path to the beach is a little rough but very worth while. We saw young folk come right down the side of the big rock to the beach and they made it look easy.

Beautiful fall and surrounding area. Nice little quick nature walk with the family. It's super easy to walk except in a few spots if you have balance issues. Walking sticks for people who need them are advised.

Very short hike with some big steps, but well worth it. Considering how beautiful the fall is, the fact that there’s only 20 people at a time at peak hours is amazing. And there’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy their own space here.

Easy to get to trail from the parking area. You can walk right out next to the drop off of the falls (not for the faint of heart), and you can also drop down the stairs to the bottom of the falls to take another view. It has been mentioned a million times in other reviews that there are danger signs everywhere for this waterfall, but if there is any common sense left in this world, I hope you have some of it when exploring these very voluminous falls (I went right after a full day of heavy rain).

Elk river falls is a easy beautiful waterfall to get to. It was only maybe 0.2 miles to get to the top of the falls and a little less than that to get to the bottom. There a small bit of elevation gain at the beginning with a staircase but flattens out after that. If you go to the bottom there's maybe an additional 50 ft elevation gain. Very beautiful waterfall with almost no work and the whole family can enjoy it. We took our 7 week old in a car seat and it was very manageable. The drive out was easy as well with a limited gravel portion at the end. We went on a Sunday afternoon and parking was limited.

Excellent spot. Short, moderate hike to the falls. I would highly recommend checking it out.

Short walk to a beautiful waterfall and summertime swimming hole. You can go to the top and look down, then navigate some roots and mud to the bottom and lay out on the rocks enjoying the view. This place is tucked away but once you park it's less than a 5min walk to the waterfall.

Elk River Falls is awesome! It is easy to find (big sign on where to turn). Once you park, the walk/ hike there isn't far at all. The area is very cool and makes for some great pics. The kids loved it! We visited in July of 2021 and the weather great. The water was cold, but refreshing!

A very short and moderately easy walk to a wonderful waterfall with splash pool. Our two small dogs as well as my wife and I enjoyed the quick excursion. Please notice the warning sign about jumping from the falls, it might be your last if you attempt it. There are plenty of parking spots as well as large boulders to sit and eat lunch.
