Chicago Smerqs Springfield

Chicago Smerqs Springfield brings the flavor! This was some of the BEST fried catfish I have had at a restaurant! It is seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly as well. The smoked wings had a ton of Smokey flavor that was very satisfying.

They have some awesome sides too. The strewn corn was one of my favorites. Don’t sleep on this place folks, the food is awesome!

Here I said I was going to stop eating out and I did it today. Tried a new place in town called Chicago Smerks. I've seen it advertised on Facebook and told my other half about it. He said I'm getting dressed,lets go! Some of the best wings and catfish in town. You order at the counter with friendly service. Juicy, smoky, chicken with crispy skin. Don't forget to ask for their hot sauce; it is mouth watering good with a nice amount of spice. The catfish was fried to a perfect golden brown. You're served the whole wing, so much more meat, flavor,and crispy skin which we all love! Rib tips were tender. The cole slaw has a good amount of sweetness but pairs well. Can't go wrong with street corn. Their Italian beef was Little too spicy for my other half but I enjoyed it. Drinks are bottled soda and bottled water as well :) Not a lot of seating as the building is smaller but puts out BIG FLAVOR!

First time trying Chicago Smerqs. Very friendly staff. Had to try the chicken tips, and they did not disappoint. Lived the sauce, and the chicken was very tender. The kids lived their burgers and the fried chicken wings. The fries were definitely great! They also brought out a few pieces of the fried catfisjh for us to try, and those were some of the best I have had in a while. The only thing that we would probably pass on next time was the brisket.

Absolutely amazing. I was so disappointed when my favorite smokehouse went out of business in Springfield. I thought I would have to go out of state to get good brisket or decent smoke wings. I am beyond surprised by the quality of the food here. The brisket and chicken tips are top notch. I mean like famous gas station outside of Kansas City quality. I don't like that style of fries so I'm not the best person to ask about that. The street corn is very good. It appeared to be a true family restaurant, which always adds to a pleasant atmosphere. Easily the best smoked wings in town. I don't think they have any sauces for the wings but I could be wrong. No Better BBQ in town maybe the best in state. I would put them in my top five restaurants for the whole Southwest Missouri region. Can't wait to go back.

I got the ribs which were good, fries and fish were excellent, staff friendly but music was whoa! I am going back for the wings!

I have been waiting so many years for an authentic Chicago restaurant to come to the 417 ever since my dad took me to uncle Remus chicken when I was a kid on Chicago’s south side, and now that restaurant is finally here in the 417 and I can hardly believe it!

We ordered the mild sauce chicken which is absolutely authentic to Chicago as well as their slow smoked rib tips, brisket and a full order of some of the best real catfish and not swai in the 417!

It was so good we stopped by two days in a row and will definitely be coming back time and time again.

If you’re looking for some actual seasoned fried catfish, head on over to Chicago Smerqs! I haven’t found anywhere else in town that does it better! Instead of the filets, I asked for catfish nuggets and I couldn’t have been more satisfied! The atmosphere is always lively and has a good hometown feel. Love it! Thanks guys (:

My daughter suggested this place because it was close to her work. But I'm glad she found this little gem.
We ordered the 3pc catfish meal and the fish was cooked perfectly, crunchy outside and fluffy flaky inside, and just and touch of heat in the seasoning. My fries were also spot on. My daughter subbed for the street corn for her side, that was also excellent!
But make sure your give their starter sauce a taste, whatever their recipe is, it's spot on, you'll catch yourself dipping the fries in it.
The people were very friendly and even though they had a sign posted that they were shutting down early for a daughter's ball game, they made sure to take care of us.

Stopped by Sunday, the fried chicken was the best I've had in the 417!
Freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, WHOLE chicken wings cooked when ordered that come with fries.
I also tried the chicken tips (out of curiosity) and they were tender and delicious. Looking forward to trying the brisket and catfish on my next visits.

Food was very good. We had a very wide sampling of things from their menu, and all of it was amazing. It's nice to see some fried catfish on a menu.

I’m a huge fried fish person! I like it seasoned and fried a little hard. It’s absolutely perfect every time! And the bbq chicken tips will melt in your mouth. Super great prices!! Highly recommend 🗣

Incredible! 10 stars! We had the Smoked Wings with the Jerk sauce and they were absolutely fantastic. Best wings we have ever had and that is saying a lot. The Rib Tips were fabulous as well. They gave us a sample of their catfish and we will definitely be back to try that on a larger scale. Big portion sizes and friendly service! And don't skip the street corn. It was perfect!

Had a great experience. Ate a little bit of everything and let me tell you, they don't disappoint! The Staff is amazing aswell as the food and peaceful atmosphere. We will be back.. Thank You Chicago Smerqs!!

From Memphis looking for good catfish. My son's ordered a beef burger and a turkey burger. The son that ordered the beef burger mistakenly ate half of the one who ordered the turkey burger. The one who ordered beef ate the turkey burger and was AMAZED at how good it was😁. He said he was glad he at his burger. Turkey burger was 🔥. BACK to the catfish. It was absolutely FANTASTIC!! It was really really good.
Fries were great too.

My family and I enjoyed Chicago Smerqs. My wife and I had the impossible burger with fries, and my daughter had the fried catfish. Everything was full of flavor. Since it was our first time, the owner let us try their Chicago-style street corn, which was very good! We will definitely come back!

Holy moly, this place is excellent!! Went here for the first time today, I was really craving a good burger, this place delivered above and beyond my expectations! Perfectly seasoned, juicy burger and fat fries that were hot and crispy! 10/10, I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more from their menu. The only con- everything on the menu sounded so good, it is gonna be hard to decide what to get!
