Excellent movie, nice exhibits, and friendly staff. We received a lot of information about the park. Plan on spending 4 hours at the park to do everything. We got out 3 times to explore. The video plays every half hour and is worth seeing it. The movie gives you a lot of history. The drive is at your own pace. They have audio stops that are available for free on the National Park website. Worth listening to. The highlight is the Cairo. The park ranger was informative and very knowledgeable.

Liked the ability to drive and stop at your own pace to view the monuments and battlefield. The visitor center offered information and guidance to self tour. The USS Cairo display is wonderful, along with the view of the River from the Cairo museum.

No free WiFi but a fantastic movie played in the theater every 30 minutes. You can also watch this movie beforehand on the National Parks website for Vicksburg, too.

Nice gift shop with a small exhibit wing.

Wow...one of the best Military parks I've been to. It's overwhelming seeing the placement of the Confederate and Union troops who fought there.

A very cool place to learn about a key piece of American history. I like how they honor the soldiers equally from both the North and the South. The rangers are very helpful and knowledgeable. We spent most of the day at the park. We got the 2.5 hour audio guide. It was a great way to learn about different parts of the battles.

It was an amazing experience. Rich with history and the park rangers are very knowledgeable about the time of the civil war. Statues, plaques and monuments throughout the park show where actual battles happened. Great view of the Mississippi River from the hilltop.

A very moving experience. It was a privilege to share this opportunity with my 15 year old nephew. Today's youth is not taught the same history that we were back in the day and to be able to share this experience was amazing. Thank you for letting us take a stroll back in time..

The driving tour will take you through some lovely rolling hills, with lots of "points of interest" statues/monuments. Don't rely on downloading the app and being able to listen to the audio portion of the tour via your cell phone - cell coverage was nil for the two phones in our car (Samsung Note 20 on T-Mobile and iPhone 13 also on T-Mobile). The Rangers in the visitor center were friendly and helpful; overall, it was an enjoyable visit.

A great site, with a good movie about the siege of Vicksburg at the tourist center and a driving tour around the battlefield with many monuments to the regiments that served. The Cairo, a Union ironclad that was recovered from the river, was a real highlight.

Exceptional park, one of my favorite National Parks so far. The tribute to of nations civil war veterans is beautiful. The feeling it provides by seeming the battle line really helps you feel the weight of the battles that took place. Great reminder of the cost of battling our own brothers.

Vicksburg National Military Park is mainly a drive through park that you could spend all day checking out all the monuments. You can stop along the route to get closer look at the monuments if you like. Along your journey you’ll learn tons of history... very beautiful park well worth the visit 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Into history, this is a must for any history buff. The Gunboat Cairo and Grants headquarters were closed due to erosion and weather issues. Can't wait to go back and visit these places.

A must see! Beautiful terrain and tastefully marked with important historical battle information. The Cairo iron boat was beyond words to see. We drove our 27 foot RV through with no problem
