Inside the museum itself, there aren't that many aircraft on display, but the docents are very friendly and know their stuff, and they have a really good selection of aircraft on display in the outdoor display area. It's definitely worth a visit.

I stumbled across this wonderful little museum while in town and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. There are two main halls, as well as an collection of aircraft that once served at the nearby airfield. I was shocked to see not only an X35 aircraft but also one of the Boeing X-32s as well. Cool stuff!

Every year when I travel to Lexington Park for vacation, I make it a routine to stop by the museum. This "little" museum is packed with tons of interesting aircraft, artifacts and memorabilia. The staff (Orange Hats) are either retired pilots, support crew or tech specialists who gladly answer any/all questions you may have. This museum has grown by leaps and bounds since my first visit at 12 (now I'm 43) and never disappoints! So take a few hours, learn something about or Navy and it's aviation history and relax! Thank you all for everything you all do!

Surprisingly detailed explanations and interesting exhibits from the US Naval Aviation history, with focus on 1950-1980s period. There are two separate buildings, plus an outdoor park with over a dozen planes. Make sure you take time to see it all.

Go here. Now

I am a history buff, I am always interested in museums relating to history, whether is be political, military, technological, etc. and this museum genuinely was a delight. Everything is spaced out perfectly, and they have a wonderful collection of aircraft you have not seen anywhere else. Their gift shop is not like the generic ones you'd find in other museums, and their recently installed flight sim genuinely was wonderful to use. Everything about this museum, it's collection, it's set-up, it's staff, everything was perfect and makes me wanna visit it over and over.

Absolutely loved this place. There's actually two museums, the first has a few planes and a drone helicopter along with one of the first F-35 test models. The second building has more of the equipment used on the planes, model aircraft along with cut outs of the engines. In this same building are also flight simulators, this was a great experience. It's only 10 dollars for 30 minutes. The software is from the 90's so it's really outdated but the fact that you can get in the cockpit of a formerly operational military aircraft is just wild. The guys that work there are either former active military or engineers who worked with the aircraft there. They're all extremely knowledgeable and have some great stories about the aircraft. It's a great place to kill a few hours.

Outstanding array of aircraft and tech. Nice little gift shop. Self guided but help if you require it. Great value and perfect for families.

This is a great museum for the price. Right now they only have their main building open and the flight line, while they renovate their other building. So the price is $5 for adults right now, but goes back up to $9 once the other building re-opens. This museum has a lot of great information and a lot of jets, helicopters, weapons, and other aircraft to see. They have a cinema area and a gift shop in the main building as well. The flight line has about 24 aircraft to check out on it and you can walk around most of them. A couple are being restored which is good to see. Overall, definitely worth a visit.

Lovely, insightful, and informative museum — can’t recommend more highly for folks visiting the Southern Maryland area with even the slightest interest in aviation!

I can’t believe I spent almost 5 hours in this museum. The folks are so friendly and helpful.

The exhibits are overwhelming, you can stand right next to an Osprey or a Blue Angel aircraft or a one if a kind plane.

They even have a saved Lighthouse cupola that was removed from Cedar Point before it was taken by the river water.

A MOON ROCK! I have never seen one so close up. Astronaut Jim Lovell chose this museum to display his moon rock.

There is so much history here and some many of the exhibits can be linked to the local naval base.

I recommend visiting this wonderful museum and walking through history that we can normally only see from the ground.

Look to the sky and be proud of those who have served our country.

Great assortment of aircraft, and great staff! my favorite air museums are the ones you can get up-close and personal with the aircraft and this place is great for this ! I drove 90 min to get here to see the CH53, the F14, and the X32B, but the other aircraft are amazing as well. Seeing the Fa-18, and the Viking was outstanding ! its at the entrance of the Patuxent River Naval base and your might have the opportunity to see flying aircraft. its a Good two to three hour to walk the whole thing.

Excellent air museum. A must visit if you are in the area. There are some unique exhibits here given the nature of what goes on, mostly in secret, at the naval air station.

Visiting on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon it was very quiet. The docents were very knowledgeable.

I got to shoot down some bandits and perform a carrier landing in the F14 simulator before ripping around the Bay Area with an A10. The gift shop is reasonably priced and has some goodies for kids Halloween outfits.

The museum is about preserving the history and heritage of Naval Aviation and associated technology. Touching the Blue Angel on display was awesome! Additionally, the history / legacy of one of the local lighthouses, Cedar Point was honored.

They have the coolest planes. There are flights assimilators that $12 for 30 minutes. And there is things you can go in and I bought a whistle rocket.

Amazing collection of naval test and experimental aircraft including the X-32 and X-35 prototypes. Complements the relatively nearby Smithsonian collections which are less naval aviation centric. Well worth the price of admittance if you're interested in aviation, particularly from a flight testing perspective.

It is a smaller museum but it has a lot of information and a lot of planes. There are planes inside the building and some outside of the building. They are beautifully kept planes. I recommend going if you are a plane enthusiast.
