Went in for an easy electrical fix today. Long story short Gary is a badass. I ran retail for a long time, I'd have him running one of my stores. Super helpful, great attitude, right to the point. Thanks dude

Like most of the small, family owned, neighborhood hardware stores, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they'll have or can get some items you can't find anywhere else. We were doing a job that we thought required just four small railing post bases, but discovered that we needed a fifth one. We already knew we couldn't get these at the big box hardware stores, but had been able to get the four we had through another small, family owned, neighborhood hardware store, so we thought we'd try Southside Hardware which was close by. We called them, they knew what we needed and had them in stock. They saved the day and allowed us to finish the job with no further delay.

You can go in with one random nail/screw and a weird idea and they will help you find all the little pieces you need for it. They are so helpful and friendly. Tying to come here over the other big places.

I would give them more stars if I could. This small hardware store has all the things you need to maintain your South City home and everything in your garage, the excellent customer service they still provide is generally a thing of the past. This business reminds me of my childhood days where people helped each other out and you could always depend on your local hardware store to have whatever you needed. I recommend going here over any of the big box stores as much as you can as they are simply awesome, convenient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Shop local! Everyone in Southside Hardware is the best. They will help you get whatever you need at great prices. Skip the big box stores and head to them!

Can't get any better experience anywhere else, excellent customer service ! Small enough so your not walking around for hours trying to find what your looking for and you are in and out. You will not regret doing business here !

When you go here, an associate will personally guide you around the store to get what you are looking to purchase. Lowes, Home Depot may have more items, you will never receive this kind of personal service.

I’m so in love with this hardware store. Reminds me of the good old days. I could never say enough about them. Just read the reviews and you’ll understand why. Do they help you ? They go above and beyond. So knowledgeable. I practically get an entire tutorial on the project if I need help. I never price compare. I buying everything I can here and avoid the big stores whenever possible. They deserve my business.

This place is great. The service is amazing. I believe it is still privately owned, and the employees are super knowledgeable and friendly.

So friendly. So helpful. If you don't know how to do it, they'll tell you. If you don't know what it is, they're here for you. If you just want to be left alone to browse, they're on board for that as well. And a bit of light window or lawn mower repair in the side? They're ready to take care of it. Great shop.

This is not only a great Hardware Store, but the family that works there are helpful and knowledgeable. Sunday we were having issues with our electric outlet, and instead of selling us the items that we came in for, Steve took the time to explain about the size of wires, code, etc. He then recommended an electrician, with 25+ yrs exp. Who called back, and came out same day to fix. I am always satisfied when I leave this store. They also sharpen my knives and scissors, and we have our lawn equipment serviced there. I love these folks. There is nothing like the old neighborhood hardware store, and the people here are very knowledgeable.

They didn't carry the brand I was looking for today, but I won't hold that against them. Seems like another hardware chain has "exclusive" rights to that brand now, and that brand is no longer as good as it used to be anyway.

If you need a part, and you don't want to traipse all the way to one of the big box stores (where you'll never find anyone to help you), Southside is a good place to start. Shop local !!! especially when the local folks are better anyway.

I love this hardware store! Every time I walk in, I am greeted by an employee who asks how they can help me. They walk me through the store for my entire shopping list, tell me exactly what I need for my projects, give me helpful pointers for my projects, and get me the right supplies for a good deal. SUCH a refreshing experience to be in and out of the store in a matter of minutes, and helped by friendly folks. When I do have to go to the big box stores, I always dread it and the employees are never helpful. Southside Hardware has my business!

Stopped by here to get some glass replaced last weekend & I've already been here five times. The staff is SO helpful & the selection is huge. It's fun getting to support a local business that's so great!

Always friendly and helpful staff who are able to find things you didn't know existed, but you needed! They will even tell you if they don't have something and where to go to find it. A wonderful smaller hardware store with personal attention you don't get at the big box stores.

What a great general hardware store! It is family owned and operated, and don't worry about it being small, because they have everything you could be hoping to find ... from fuses to toilet seats to electrical supplies, and so much more. All of the family members make a point of personally helping to find exactly what you are looking for, and can answer any questions you have about the item ... maybe even some you didn't think to ask! Enjoy! This is old-fashioned personal service at its best.

This is my go to place for hardware. I have had some odd requests for specific bolts, screws, spacers, and other components needed for household repairs and woodworking projects. Every person there is friendly and professional. If they are not sure what you need, they ask you and talk about what you want. I often find an easier way to do things and have saved money with their suggestions. They have a good supply of items particularly needed to maintain homes in this area. They also have tools and other supplies that I need. Southside Hardware is a hidden gem!
