Absolute St. Louis Treasure!! Went looking for ooey gooey butter cake after visiting Grant's Farm and I found this gem not too far down the road. When we initially passed the bakery on the drive to the farm my brother said, "a place with a sign like that has to be good." Upon leaving Grant's, I Googled ooey gooey butter cake and Federhofer's popped up. When we walked in we were blown away with the case displays and vast array of treats in those cases. The first thing, I asked the friendly associate was for ooey gooey butter cake, then I asked for some Easter Bunny cookies (the presentation of the items, was just eye-catching) and finally I spotted these little butter cookies my Dad used to buy us as kids, but can no longer locate where I live. Needless to say, I walked out with a wonderful memory and some sweet treats. I will definitely return and spread the word on this St. Louis diamond.

I came in to try out their donuts. They didn't have much of a selection, and I was told their fryer broke, and they had to change the recipe on some of their donuts and couldn't make others. The butter horn and Danish with the pecans were both excellent, but the regular donuts were pretty middle of the road. The apple fritter was ok, but I like mine with crispy edges, and this one was more like the honey bun style they sell at Schnucks. I'll give them a try for other bakery items in the future as I've heard this bakery is excellent, but as far as donuts go, I feel there are better shops in town. Not bad, but I can't give it more than 3 stars until I feel up to trying other bakery they sell.

*edit* They may not have had top notch donuts the day I tried them, but I gave them another chance for a Christmas cake and cookies. The Santa cake was the cat's pajamas, it was so cool! It tasted as good as it looked. The cookies were also phenomenal, I only wish I had bought more because they were gone fast. Federhoffer's knows their baked goods!

This is the best bakery! Over the years the quality is just as good as it was when I was coming here 30 years ago. That's rare. Still ran by the family, which is nice to come in and get to say hello while shopping! Fresh baked bread and delicious pastries that never disappoint... my latest favorite is the blueberry danish. Open 7 days a week so stop by soon!

Went here as a quick stop before hitting the road traveling all day. A small crowd was inside, so I took a number and was served in less than a minute or two. So many choices of fresh things to choose from it's ridiculous. Got some cookies, pastries & a piece of cake and only spent $23. Staff is knowledgeable about what they're selling and friendly. Quick service, great snacks, and inexpensive pricing. Would definitely come back.

A gem of Afton- Fedehofer's still provides the neighborhood family bakery appeal. Excellent quality of baked goods and creative sweet treats. You can pick up your superbowl cookies to support your team. As an added bonus make sure to pick up your favorite cheerleader Tay- Tay cookie!!!!!

Old time traditional bakery. A little like stepping back in time, as there are very few of these that still exist. Take out place only - no seating. The treats were delicious and reasonably priced, which most bakeries are not these days. Had a wonderful chocolate fudge cake and delicious cupcakes. Creative selection of cookies. Go early for the best selection.

Oh my favorite bakery in St Louis by far. Anything they have with cheese which I already ate. And then there's this beautiful cookie. I just had to get before my surgery tomorrow.

We've been getting our son's birthday cakes here for nearly a decade and have never been disappointed. Even when there's a line, it moves pretty quickly. Staff are helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Cakes are top notch - we're very much looking forward to picking up this year's 13th birthday cake.

This has been my favorite bakery since before I can even remember! From weekend visits to weekly shopping at Johnny's Market (where they used to deliver), the tastes, smells, and sights are the same. I love the nostalgia and the memories throughout the years.

A real old fashioned bakery in Affton! At one time you could find neighborhood bakeries like this all over Saint Louis. Today you have to seek them out. This is not to be missed! The danishes, donuts, stollens, soft, chewy bread and some of the best cookies around await you all around the store. They also bake delicious custom decorated cakes! A Saint Louis treasure on Gravois!

OMG Best bakery in STL. live in western St Charles county and make this trip 2-3 time's a year. Well worth the 45 minute drive.

I ordered a birthday cake for my husband's special day. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, despite the order being last-minute. I was extremely pleased with them. They were able to work with me on a design that they could get done in the limited time and were honest about what could not be done. I will be returning for that reason alone. Plus, the cake was excellent.

I stopped in to Federhofer's Bakery this morning for my latest episode of the STL Donut Tour and was delighted by all their amazing looking pastries! You may know them as the place to go for cakes and pies but they also have some absolutely delicious donuts! The cherry Danish that I got was delicious and the service was good, but make sure you bring cash because they won't let you use a card unless you buy over $10 worth of products. There's no way I would ever do that unless I was buying a cake or something. The cakes looked fabulous, by the way!

What an easy seamless process for our daughter’s 1st birthday! Easy to work with and the cakes were beautiful, tasted delicious, and matched our theme perfectly. I simply gave them a copy of the invitation and they took it from there!

Ordered a birthday cake (same day, on short notice!) And grabbed a delicious family size cheese Danish pastry. Everything was fresh and super delicious. Prices are great, selection has a little something for everyone, and they even have bread/rolls/fresh bagels.

We have had special occasions baked goods cakes,cookies. Their work is always top notch. Beautiful decorating and just plain old good food

Federhoffers made our sheet cakes and other desserts for our wedding. Our guests loved our cake and gooey butter cake options. We did not have much leftover which is a testament to how good Federhoffers Bakery is. They also made cookies for my bridal shower and people are still raving about them. I would recommend Federhoffers to anyone needing a dessert for an event. They have a wide variety and they are very easy to communicate with and very affordable.

I am sure their reputation is all any local would need, but as a visitor from out of town, I try to come here anytime I am in the St. Louis area. They have just about everything you could think of to choose from (cakes, cookies, donuts, breads, and more)! The service was excellent every time I have been to this bakery. And I feel the prices are so fair for fresh baked products. As many other reviewers have mentioned, it’s hard to find this kind of a special place anymore so it is truly a place to be appreciated.
