Rachel is wonderful. My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis at her 13 year physical, and while it was not severe we wanted to address it before her growth plates closed. She showed visual improvement within months and x-rays after 6 months showed a decrease in her curve to be almost within normal spinal range. Rachel was easy to work with and made my daughter comfortable and confident in her ability to impact her outcome. The clinic is a 2-1/2 hour drive one way for us and worth it 100%. I’d recommend Rachel to anyone!

Rachel evaluated my condition and while it was not scoliosis. she performed some stretching and reflex therapy in office. My knee swelling and stiffness was 80% relieved after this visit. I have been performing the stretching and strengthening exercises to help align my hips and feel much better.

Rachel is amazing! She is caring, patient, and knowledgeable. The therapy she provides is individualized and tailored for you in your body, your particular concerns and your curvature. Rachel is wonderful with explaining and demonstrating what’s happening with our scoliosis – affected bodies, and how to improve our posture and pain. I highly recommend her!

Rachel. Is. Amazing! From the moment I first reached out to her, I felt heard. She takes her time, she focuses on each of her patients individually, she asks questions, she listens. She has completely changed my posture, something that I've spent the last 30 years taking for granted. She's introduced me to a whole new way to think about my spinal health, and I'm truly grateful to have her as my therapist <3

I have been living with poor posture and mid-back pain for years. My back pain got so severe that my doctor ordered X-rays that showed significant scoliosis. The pain was interfering with my activities of daily living so I went to physical therapy. I saw another physical therapist that I trust very much who referred me to Rachel Clay at Clay Scoliosis Clinic in St Louis. I started to get some relief after my first visit! Rachel's explanation of how scoliosis occurs and why it often causes pain was easy to understand. The daily home therapy has immensely decreased my back pain so much that most days I am pain-free. Even if health insurance does not cover the cost of visits, the investment into improved posture and pain-free living is priceless.

I grew up navigating scoliosis. Had my first back brace when I was in 6th grade, had my first of three back surgeries when I was 18.

Last year I began having worsening issues where surgery was the corrective action offered to me. But for me, unless my pain is a constant debilitating issue, surgery is not an option.

Rachel was recommended to me by a local physical therapist. She has given me so much more education on my back, tools to correct problematic issues and a evolving game plan to continue to live a vibrantly healthy life. She agreed to work with me virtually and truly, I will continue to work with her regularly without an expiration date to continue to keep my back in the best health possible.

I recommend Rachel because of her passion, her expertise, her openness to think and work outside the box, and her determination to help her patients.

Thank you so much Rachel for sharing your gift with others! I personally am grateful for everything you have done and continue to do to help me.

I was diagnosed with adult-onset scoliosis when I was fifty-years-old. Unfortunately, my primary care physician had no recommendations for me.

I eventually saw a doctor in St.Louis, and was monitored for several years. Although a good candidate for surgery, I opted to not have it, and felt at a loss as to what to do next.

Then I found Rachel at the Clay Scoliosis Clinic.

Rachel truly listened to me, and has devised a plan tailored specifically for me. I was very nervous at first, but Rachel put me at ease. She is genuine, knowledgeable, kind, and empathetic.

I have seen definite improvement in my posture since beginning therapy with Rachel, and have increased my strength and mobility.

My only regret is that I didn’t find her until twelve years into my journey with scoliosis. I would absolutely encourage anyone with scoliosis to reach out to Rachel at the Clay Scoliosis Clinic.

I found out I had scoliosis at the age of 19, but never did anything to treat it. I had no pain, but I have a lung condition, and I knew poor posture was not helping my breathing and lung function though my doctor felt it wasn't an issue.
After 5 visits with Rachel, I have seen improvement in the rounding of my shoulders and my breathing mechanics have improved! I feel good, and I am confident my lung function and the scoliosis will see improvements over time too.
Rachel has spent so much time finding exercises that fit my specific needs and also allow me to do everything at home outside of my time with her.

I've been dealing with neck pain related to slight scoliosis for a few years. Rachel was upfront and very honest about how minor it was and the amount of PT necessary to learn everything I'd need to both improve my posture and reduce my pain. The cost is reasonable for great one on one care and Rachel is both kind, knowledgeable, and personable, making sure that you're comfortable the entire time. She's responsive and incredibly easy to contact as well. Every session I learned something new and built up a small array of personal exercises that really help. If you're thinking about PT for scoliosis I couldn't recommend going to see her more!

I have two daughters that were both diagnosed with scoliosis in the spring of 2019 and found the Clay Scoliosis Clinic while trying to find more information about treatment options. I inquired for more information on the website and Rachel gave me a call. While this diagnosis is scary in the “unknowns” of what form our ultimate treatment path will take, Rachel has given my daughters a purpose in that they have some control now over what is happening by participating in doing their exercises. Rachel has a realistic approach and we understand this treatment may not prevent surgery, but, will, at minimum reduce/eliminate pain and help them become stronger. Rachel has been very flexible, responsive and accommodating in developing programs to meet their different needs, while also keeping the various exercises understandable and relatable to daily life.

Clay Scoliosis Clinic has helped me tremendously over the several weeks I have been seeing Rachel. I have a 30+ degree curve and I already see positive changes in my posture. Rachel is knowledgeable, kind, patient, and understanding. I couldn't think of a better person to work with.

I was diagnosed with scoliosis rather late in life and it got increasingly worse over the past 25 years, especially the past 5-10 years. Rachel's therapy is my introduction to the Schroth Method and it has been a revelation. I am experiencing improvement after just a few sessions. I have much hope now that I can become more flexible and pain-free and will gain endurance over time and be able to walk longer distances.

Clay Scoliosis Clinic is wonderful! We thought we would have to go to a coast to find a Schroth therapist, and are so thankful to have found the Clay Scoliosis Clinic and Rachel Clay. Rachel is awesome, she put my grandson at ease right away and is incredibly good at communicating the sometimes complicated sounding concepts of the exercises to him, and to me. She is very knowledgeable, focused, patient, and easy to talk to and easy to understand. Thanks Rachel!

I don't typically write reviews but I have to share my experience with Rachel with hopes it will help others. I have battled osteoarthritis now for 3 years that was directly caused from lumbar scoliosis. I had spinal fusion done 20 years ago in my mid-back due to a severe case of scoliosis. I wish I had known about Schroth therapy prior to my surgical procedure back in my teenage years. Yet I am seeing incredible benefits while under the care of Rachel. First and foremost she does an incredible job explaining your unique case and instructing you on sitting/standing posture. The exercises I do daily have given me great benefit while also really helping minimize the arthritic pain. Please see her as she is extremely knowledgeable with scoliosis, most PT's I've encountered do not possess the knowledge needed for someone battling the 3D effects of scoliosis.

I was diagnosed with Scoliosis at the age of 14. During my adolescent years I never really had any pain. It wasn’t until I got older that I started to have problems. I tried many forms of treatment, but none of them seemed to work for very long. I knew that the curve of my spine at my age was not going to change much, but I was wanting to find something to relieve the pain. It wasn’t until I found Clay Scoliosis that I started to learn how to incorporate specific exercises, stretching techniques, and breathing methods to help alleviate most of the pain that I had been experiencing for many years.

What’s really unique about this type of spinal therapy is that it’s specific to the patient’s individual curve. Rachel will devise a plan for your individual needs. She demonstrates that during your therapy sessions, and she also includes an at home plan for you involving more exercises and stretching techniques that can be incorporated in your everyday life.

I highly recommend Rachel Clay Scoliosis to anyone that has Scoliosis! The Schroth techniques that Rachel taught me has helped to alleviate my pain by improving my posture and also strengthen the weak points around my curve. There is no way I would’ve been able to perform the Schroth Method on my own. Her expertise in this field of work has helped me tremendously!

Rachel works extremely hard at making sure that her clients are receiving the best care possible. What really excited me about my results was not only that the pain had subsided, but I could also see that my posture was improving!

Sincerely,

Kelly

My daughter, 13, was diagnosed with a 28 degree curve and we sought our own treatment options to try and prevent it from progressing. After seeking out the Clay Clinic, Rachel provided us with a cost conscious option to start treatment. She then provided us with flexible, timely, and expert treatment to fit the needs of my daughter. I would definitely recommend her services; she used our times wisely and taught my daughter how to continue the exercises at home.

Rachel set up a program for my daughter and she has been able to manage any flares. She rides horses with lots of unexpected movements that can flare the back, but she has been nearly pain free for the last year since working with Rachel.

I have a very complicated case of scoliosis and kyphosis. Rachel has taught me so much about my condition, and given me many tools to help improve my posture and manage associated pain. She is a wealth of knowledge and a great practitioner of the Schroth Method!
