This was our first time in a proper swamp, and it did not disappoint. We went up and down the river and got to see the flora and fauna that inhabits this area. Everything from snails to birds to raccoons. I think this is where they made the show "Swamp People", but I'm not 100% sure. The scenery was eerily similar to the movie "The Princess and the Frog". We didn't really need bug spray, even in the swamp, as the water is moving and it doesn't really have too many mosquitoes.

Captain Jacob was really great. I highly recommend doing this tour. Saw alligators, boar, raccoon. You can bring your own food, they only sell snacks. There's a nice pavilion to have lunch before the tour.

Beautiful place to kayak or go boating. There's a lovely connector between Pearl River and the old Pearl River called Casey's ditch which is magical in the summer and spring and beautiful in the winter. The river can be a bit choppy and can have strong currents especially when windy so be sure to check the weather and the tides before going out

It was our 1st time on the river. Had a friend carry us up the river to a get together a bunch of friends were having with a floating stage, a band and somebody even had a 2 story floating barge with a slide. Great fun.

Amazing tour. Our guide Tray was very knowledgeable and funny; he made the experience very enjoyable. He even gave us some interesting Cajun recipes. We learned about the history of the swamps and how the ecosystem works. Highly recommended.
PS: for all the eco friendly people I would recommend this one as well because they only feed the animals fat free marshmallows so the animals don't get lazy and dependent on them so they keep their natural habits.
