What a cute little place! First floor is dedicated to the history of the area, second floor is a Mardi Gras museum. My favorite part of the tour was all the stories that were told. How the town got its name, the streets named. The guy doing the tour was well informed and was constantly learning new things. He told great stories of the area. I look forward to bringing others here and suggesting this for anyone. Admission is free, but they do accept donations. There are amazing old cameras, board for telephone operators and pictures galore. You will not regret coming in.

Very small local museum located inside the old tiny prison. The guide lady is very nice and knowledgeable. Don't forget to check out the second floor which houses some really neat Mardi gras costumes and stuff. Free admission but please donate some money

The museum has a wonderful array of old things to feast your eyes on, including the original jail cells. The curator has tons of stories to help bring Olde Towne Slidell to life.

As a Slidell, LA native I visited this place a few times and I always found it nice way to kill some time and learn some history of my hometown. The guides are local, knowledgeable, and friendly. As you walk through the museum you can find Civil War artifacts, period clothing as well as Mardi Gras costumes over the yrs, and tons of fact about Slidell. It's amazing to see how much it has grown since the days of the original Railroad camp. Most, if not all, of the exhibits have been donated by locals or people who have found the relics around town. If you visit Slidell, you NEED to visit our little museum.
