Amsterdam Dunes Preservation Area

My fave secret beach to get a few throws in with my girl. There’s a park for kids too.

Quaint, quiet park nestled along Lake Michigan. I came in late fall (Oct 30th) to star gaze, but this would be a nice park in summer, with 600 feet of sandy beach, nice waves, and old-school, playground equipment. Like a 30-year step back in history.

Quiet beach - very nice hidden gem!

Nice small park on Lake Mi. In Wisconsin. Not crowded just locals that live in the area.maybe I should not be saying that..lol

We've always driven on this stretch of 43 and loved the view of lake michigan. Amsterdam dunes has a small beach with picnic tables and a shelter that is a great place to stop and have a picnic lunch.

This is a cute little park right on the lake in the Amsterdam Dunes. The playground is a little old but it's sturdy an still in decent condition. It has great views and should have a good lake breeze that keeps the area a little cooler too.

Great park off the beaten path and pretty secluded, but offering vast shoreline access to Lake Michigan and some pretty panoramic views.

Awesome beach and super quiet. Its not real big but big enough to relax and enjoy the water and warmth

We stopped so our son could see a great lake for the first time in his life. It was cold and there were some waves, but he enjoyed the stop. Great family moment

Nice park in the beach. Not far from expressway. Nice stop in the way to or from summer camp.

Very nice. Did short walks here and the other natural area along lake Michigan. Best kept secret in Wisconsin.

The beach itself is gorgeous

This is an absolutely lovely little park and beach on the Lake Michigan shore. Beach is sandy and so is the lake bottom. Great for children, and a great place for a picnic. Unfortunately, there is a sign that states the park is for residents of the local communities only. Not sure how stringently this is enforced, but you should be aware of it if you do go.

This is actually a permit only park but nobody really enforces it. Nice beach, plenty of shaded picnic areas, kids' play area and Porta potty.

There's a boat launch fee and the launch area seems poorly designed but I've seen people managing it without too much trouble.

Decent walking trails just to the west, within walking distance of the parking lot.

Great place for lunch and stretch your legs.

No trails, just a boat launch, but the beach is gorgeous and untouched! You are also able to walk it quite a ways to the public beach.

Beautiful beach, not crowded, nice pavilion and port-a-potties, minimal playground equipment. Free public boat launch as well!
