Elk River Depot Family Restaurant

Awesome place to eat! The service is spectacular and the staff is super friendly. The menu offers everything you can think of. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. The food was fixed and served correctly and tasted great! This is such a terrific place to eat!

I was searching for elk river pizza station on Google but all I could find was this restaurant which we frequent maybe once a month. And we love this restaurant. However last time we attended dine in, the margarita flatbread was on point. Today we did carry out and we got down the road and opened it and it was much different than last time. Unfortunately, It was quite unacceptable considering their standards they presented us beforehand. We turned the car around and brought it back and the woman on the pizza side wanted to refuse a refund but eventually after 5-10 minutes gave us our money back. The flatbread was very bland with no flavor of basil. It was pretty much tomato paste and sauce on top of crust and minimal mozzarella. She said this is their new standard. If that’s the case, we will not go out of our way again.

Staff was super friendly, kind, fun and very attentive. Food was hot and fresh. Menu had something for everyone.

This place is awesome, and the hosts are just too amazing. They hosted breakfast and dinner for the 2 Day Motorcyclist Map Appalachian Rally 2024, and we were just so touched with their warmth and hospitality!!! On the 2 days of riding in the cold, the riders more than welcomed the hot tasty food they served!!! Thank you so much for participating in the rally and playing an important role to make it such a huge success!!!!

I’d have taken a photo of the whole pizza, but I was too hungry after skiing. Such a diamond in the rough woods! Elk River is cozy, friendly, and food is fresh and hot.

We had three delicious hamburgers that were out of this world! Toasted buns, and grilled to perfection. If you want to gourmet burger, this is the stop! The fried okra was on point too😛 Dog friendly outside dining!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! If you want home style coking look no further! Their meatloaf literally unlocked childhood memories of my dad’s meatloaf! I could never find anyone that made meatloaf that could taste as good as my dads! And this on brought tears to my eyes!! Such amazing kind staff. They all took wonderful care of us and my Service Dog! Whenever we visit again we’ll definitely be back!!

Elk River is a great little place. I came here for breakfast about 3 weeks ago and then again for lunch today. My breakfast was amazing. Try the French toast, you won't be disappointed. For lunch, I had a vegetarian pizza. It was delicious. The service both times were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. The prices are fair and the food was really good.

Had an incredible bbq brisket sandwich on my first stop into Elk River and the service was top notch. It worked out perfectly that they now are associated with U-Haul truck/trailer rentals so I was able to grab lunch before a busy day of moving into a new house. Windy runs the restaurant and was so sweet and helpful with the truck rental portion and making sure the lunch & service was perfect. I highly recommend them for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as their rental services!

Got the grilled cheese. SO good, definitely had to get another one. Cuban Sandwich is what my mom got, I had a bite and it was excellent 🤤

Just driving around and ran across this place.
Parking lot full of cars so it had to be good, right.
Seated fast, server was friendly and fast with drinks and food after we ordered.
French toast was fantastic and the coffee was excellent.
Will definitely stop here when in the area.

We really enjoyed our lunch here! Our waitress was exceptional! The food came out hot, fresh, and delicious. We ordered one burger and a chicken sandwich. The toasted buttery bun makes all the difference!

Don't listen to the naysayers... The Depot was a welcome southern treat after our hike this morning in Elk River Park. They probably think collard greens is a 90s alt rock band anyway.

Growing up in the south, I can appreciate some good home cooking. The chicken fried steak and flounder were off the chain. We both shared fried okra, collards, and mashed taters for sides... And omg those baked apples will make you warm and tingly inside. Much needed this time of year up here.

Can't help but mentioning, my cornbread could have hit the floor and I still would have slabbed it up with butter that place was so clean.

Staff was like family, food amazing, and clean as a whistle. We'll be coming back

We were headed home when we found this great restaurant!! I had the meatloaf which was fantastic and my family had chicken strips that were really good!! Very family-friendly atmosphere!! If we ever back in this area will definitely come back!! Also if you see an old man it just might be Grandpa Gumbo you're looking at!

Even during low season their sandwiches are outstanding. Terrific breakfasts when high season is on. GO!

Stopped here on our way home from Beech Mtn for breakfast. Friendly staff and server. The food was awesome. Literally was at our table in less than 10 minutes. Pancakes were large and fluffy, bacon was cooked perfectly, hash browns and eggs were done up just right.

Definitely will stop again if in the area.

Good food. The salad bar was amazing. We had chicken livers and fried bologna sandwiches. All cooked and made to perfection. Met some locals. Very nice.

I came in a couple minutes after 8 p.m. and they were actually closing. I had wanted a takeout dinner and asked if I could possibly get that still.

The hostess went in the back to check and the manager came out to tell me that, unfortunately, they already shut down both grills so they could not prepare the fried chicken livers I had wanted.

However, he wrote a note saying that I could come in at anytime and get a dinner for half price!

Not only is the food good, the service is outstanding!

Excellent food, service & atmosphere! Also, they have a new menu with wonderful new foods. We had to try the new choices on menu which were amazing! We highly recomend you try the MAHI MAHI & Chicken Pot Pie! The new recipe meatloaf is delicious!
