Southern Scoops and Sandwiches

I stopped in here a few weeks ago for lunch on my way through. I was really impressed with the timely and friendly service, and the food was fantastic. I had a pulled pork sandwich with slaw and a bisque-like, tomato based soup with gouda that was to die for. It was prepared very quickly, not much of a wait. It looked like a busy lunch spot with plenty of locals who obviously love the food and the great atmosphere. It's right off the highway for easy access if you're passing by, and I highly recommend it.... I absolutely love the vibe here as well.

I moved here from Florida and took my son to get a quick lunch and ice cream. They greeted us when we came in. They immediately knew we had never been there before which left an impression that they remember every customer. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a small town. Very friendly and welcoming. The burgers are phenomenal!! The sweet tea was delicious, perfectly sweet and my son devoured his ice cream! They have so many choices of ice cream it’s a wonderland for kids. I would highly recommend stopping in. My son and I both loved it. The prices are fair as well.

Southern Scoops was previously known as the Dairy House and was always a beloved diner in town. I remember initially being nervous about the change in ownership, name, and look but I am delighted to say that they improved upon the already adored restaurant! The food, service, and atmosphere is the best it's ever been and my family will always come here for a good bite.

I got the chicken salad sandwich with walnuts and grapes. It was filled overflowing and delicious. I wanted a malt and they had 32 flavors to choose from; I had a banana malt like I haven’t had since the 70’s and it was absolutely perfect! Good food, very helpful and friendly staff, and a hood old fashioned milkshake from days gone by. 🤓💕👍🏼

This place has it all! Clean, friendly, great food, and atmosphere. Very quick service and good music 🎶 Both owners checked on us personally and took time to visit with us. Best burgers 🍔 😋 We will definitely be eating here again. Maybe next time we'll order the banana split!

Service with a smile. Beef is raised locally. Food is delicious. Scene is breathe taking with mountains in background. Small dinner. Loved this place. The onion rings I ordered were cooked to perfection. Best I have ever eaten.

Southern Scoops is the best place in the county for lunch and/or ice cream. The restaurant and bathroom are always clean. Not many places that keep their bathroom clean. The music is great, 50's/60's. Can't beat the menu selection, too. The food is delicious. And, well, Hersey's ice cream! Can't beat that! I would give them more stars if I could! Owners and staff are very nice and accommodating.

Decent size menu. Great place to stop. The view is breath taking. This is the best milk shake i've ever had in my life. Whatever made it is magical.😁🪄🍦

Ate there Sunday after church and had an excellent experience. Friendly staff & mgmt. Food was fast & freshly made.

Ice-cream is excellent, service is ok,just don't like being hovered over.

Our boys wanted ice cream while we were doing our annual 4th of July trip to west Jefferson. A quick google search recommended this place. Very friendly staff. Ice cream was top notch. It also lead us to purchasing our new jeep after a conversation with another guest who was driving a lovely blue jeep! So thanks all around!

The cheese curds and the ice cream were delicious. All of the staff were very kind and attentive.

Great lunch spot, I had the double cheese burger loaded with tator tots. Food was great and service was really good as well. I did not have ice cream, but they serve Hershey ice cream. I will be back for ice cream soon!

This place is awesome! The service was exceptional. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and the experience only went up from that point on. They serve Hershey's ice cream and have several flavors to choose from. The price is reasonable as well. I would have posted pictures...but I was too busy eating. Sorry. Don't judge me.

Food was delicious! Prices were amazing. Loved the friendly old diner atmosphere. We were checked on several times through our meal to make sure we were happy and our food was as we expected. Will definitely be back!

They are so diligent about keeping the place clean, and everyone at safe distances. The prices are fair for such quality food, and it's always hot and delicious. My favorite milkshake is a brown butter bourbon something or another it's amazing!! The new owners have really turned that place around, and it's great! Satisfied Everytime!
