River's Edge Apple River Tubing & Camping

We stayed in one of their cabin's that is located right on the river. Super cute and clean. Staff is amazing! They are very accommodating! Quick drive to Stillwater that has plenty of Restaurants, Bars and cute shops. Tanking down the river is also a blast! I highly recommend!

Recently, I had the pleasure of embarking on a river tubing excursion, and it exceeded all my expectations. The season had closed for tubing, but the owners graciously opened up for my daughters and I did get our annual raft trip of the season in after Labor Day. It was a beautiful day and they went above and beyond providing tubes, a cooler tube, and picking us up all by ourselves at the end of the float. Thank you for helping us continue our tradition!

When creating a review, my phone autocorrected to “rest,” so I’m keeping it. Rest and relaxation perfectly describes our experience from start to finish. Quaint and perfectly appointed, this gem was a beautiful fall getaway. Extremely clean and welcoming: planning to come again!

I couldn’t wait to write this review! After reading some more recent reviews before arriving for our stay, I was a little nervous as none of them were great. However, I am pleased to report we had an amazing stay! And I fully believe those with a negative outlook on this place probably aren’t happy anywhere! It is what you would expect for any campground type facility. We arrived on a Sunday and promptly checked out our cute little cabin and proceeded to the water slides for the evening. Ours girls & even the adults had a great time on them! The next morning we floated the river and followed up with an evening by the pool. Everything was clean and the staff was amazing! I can’t say enough great things about this place. Our family (2 adults & 3 children) had a great time and will definitely recommend to others! I will advise if you are expecting the Hilton, please find other accommodations. The place needs updating, but that comes with time and money. We had no complaints! Enjoy!

I always enjoy visiting this campground and with the New Owners its even Better. The location offers such a unique, full geographic layout that gives you all different types of sites to camp. Access to the River and Shuttles to the Somerset Concert Venue are huge Pros to staying here and the 2 Giant Water Slides aren't bad Either!.

I hadn't been tubing on the Apple River in a decade and wanted to share the experience with my wife and kids who had never been there before.

We went on a Tuesday morning and it was amazing. First, the staff was very friendly and helpful, which was appreciated. The whole float down the river was so peaceful and quiet, unlike the weekends. We didn't see another tuber the entire river!

When we got to the end, a staff member was there to cut the ropes on our tubes and we had a nice short ride back to our car.

I was very pleased with River's Edge as I hadn't tubed with them before but will certainly tube with them again!

We had a bachelor party here, and the cabin was exactly as expected, and the campsites were perfect. The manager at the tubing facility really helped us out and made us feel special. Would recommend this highly.

River’s Edge is all about a positive work and play environment. Over the last few years there has been SO much work done to make coming here the best possible experience. The wedding venue is just icing on the cake! All the employees are super friendly and helpful, and it feels nice to see families making memories together here. The grounds are extremely well kept and monitored for customers to feel safe and comfortable. This is the place for tubing, tanking and camping for sure!

We were here this past Saturday. The water was cold but the tubing/service was great. I do enjoy the fact that they help cut the twine at the end, take our tubes (so we don't have to carry it up the hill) and if you want to go down again, you can collect tubes/more twine (without paying again). Great if not everyone in your group wants to go a second time. We have been coming a few times a year for the last 5ish years!

My family and I had a great experience. Ali was very accommodating to us all. She went above and beyond. Much appreciated. The parking and staff were great. It’s a good feeling to go to a public place and know you’ll be treated how you’re suppose to be. Definitely recommend River’s Edge to anyone that wants to visit Somerset/Apple River.
On another note we did pass a camp ground that was horribly run down, broken picnic tables in the water, garbage on the camp ground blowing around and a ton of liquor bottles and beer cans along shore. I believe it was Apple River Hideaway Campground, glad we didn’t chose to stay or tube out of that place. Ish!

This place is amazing. Fun for all ages. Plenty to do.
Ally is amazing and the staff took incredible care of us on our large groups recent stay.

Stayed for a week this August, awesome time with the most accommodating and warm staff. Definitely plan on going back next year. Location is close to Stillwater for touristy things, plus they have a swimming pool, mini golf and a store on site for snacks. Rented a comfy tiny house and felt right at home.

Had an awesome time years ago and just recently started making it a new annual thing because I forgot how much fun it was! I went on an adult only trip and then a few weeks later took my kids for their first time. They loved it! The water slides were fun when we were not tubing down the river. super helpful staff. They must spray because no bugs. Great breakfast buffet. Bus that takes you to and from the bar down the road. I met some amazing people that made lasting memories for me. Price is right. A bus that takes you back to the camp site after you get done tubing down the river. Try it you won’t regret it!

We had a blast at rivers edge apple river. We spent our 4th of July there and will be coming back. Staff was nice and accommodating. We loved our camping site that’s under the tree. The shade helps a lot specially during the day when it’s really hot. I was happy they had ice and wood available in there mini store otherwise will have to drive far to get them. The high light was the tubing, even there’s lots of shallow part of the river that has rocks on it hurts when it hits your back so you gotta watch out for those rocks. I had to put on life jacket thinking it was deep and had to take it off half way. My daughter was 10 and she loved it and wants to do it again. Will be back with a group of friends!

We had a great time! Bunkhouse was very clean and the ac worked very well. Loved the loft! It’s beautiful and the traffic from the highway is loud but we liked the white noise and enjoyed the lights at night. Pool is very well kept, facilities were all really clean as well. And price was awesome! Came on a weekday trip and it was quiet and relaxing.

Had a pretty awesome time at Apple River! Although we got there on Friday and it got rained out Saturday, we still had a great night Friday! The bar was newly renovated, super beautiful-I would consider having my wedding reception there! There was also a shuttle bus from the bar back to your camp site! Met a cool group of people. Bugs were not bad at all compared to here in South Dakota! It was nice that in the morning there was a breakfast buffet! The only thing I would suggest is leveling some ground area for tents. Otherwise-very satisfied and excited to hopefully win tickets every year while they do the promotion! Thank you again for choosing me 2 years in a row! We will call this last time trial and error! Had an amazing time at Rivers Edge, we had the opportunity of winning a chance to go for a weekend and we went. It was fun! We went down the river countless times and that itself was amazing. We had a great camping spot where we pitched our tent up. We also loved that they had a pool so when the river was all closed up we took a dip in the pool and it was great. Also a lot of great people who were camping too, it was a blast we cannot wait to go next summer! And will hopefully return every summer because it’s just that great.

We ate renting a small cabin, and it's perfect, but for the event that I am attending, I wish it was closer to the other campers.

We went tubing after a bit of rain, so it wasn’t crazy shallow, though some parts you might be very very close to the bottom. It took us 2:45 to get from top to bottom, and that was with a 10 minute break on the shoreline to eat food. We saw a few other groups during the second half of the run, but it was very peaceful otherwise. Rapids were fun, but I wish we would’ve had something waterproof for our stuff so we weren’t as focused on that.

Came to River's Edge for a concert during June and it was an absolute blast. The campground was very clean and accommodating, the staff was friendly, and it was easy to navigate. Unfortunately, it rained the day we were going to go tubing but I plan to come back in the near future for tubing on the river. I would recommend this place if you are looking for affordable fun!
