Lovely wide open forest to hike through. This trail on the north side of the river and raven rock, and it is used by horses as well. There were some areas where it was muddy (depending on weather) and there was horse poop, but we found it was easy to go around since the forest was very open and the trails were wide. Over all loved the hilly aspect of this trail with a river in the middle of both trails and the little water falls you find along the hike. There are 2 trails. Both are loops. For those hiking in foot once you get to the river half way through the 4 miles trail you might have to turn around since there are no built bridges. Perfect for horses though. You may find a natural way to cross via rocks or fallen tree or maybe a sandy (depending on water level) area along the river. But you have to hike along the river and look for it. There are a shallow areas for those that dont mind taking off shoes and just crossing.

Fantastic trails on the less developed side of the park. Super place for a hike if you’re not into crowds. You do have to watch for horses though. Keep your dogs under good control. One side of the trail has river access (kind of have to hunt for it), and the other has a lovely crossing of Avent Creek.

I really enjoy the bridle trails, but am disheartened when I haul in just to find the designated horse trailer parking consumed by cars. They have their own area to park where we cannot park. So please leave these spaces open for trailer parking. Thx

Great place to go hiking if you want to get away from the screaming kids and herds of unawares at the main park. I'll never understand why humans go to a place such as Raven Rock to get away from their daily lives and have a peaceful walk in nature and then yap constantly, let their kids run around screaming like a banshee and have some kind of music blaring wide open on their cell phone or whatever other device they bring.

Great hike, very quiet and peaceful without sounds of the road. Not crowded. Most of the time I don’t see another person. Mostly flat.

This is mine and my man's favorite riding place. It's a little over an hour from where we live but so worth it. The beautiful trails are marked and have water, winding trails, and up and down hills. The parking lot is easily accessible and there is a restroom. I like that I can check the website in the morning to make sure the bridle trails are open before hitting the road. The only downside is we have to share the trails with what we call walkers, lol and dogs. Sometimes they are in the waterfall, splashing around and it takes away from the beauty of the experience. Wish they would go to the people's hiking trails. But other than that, it's awesome!

Beautiful clean trails that are well marked and cleared. There are rocky parts and the big creek crossing can be tricky for some horses but I would still say it's low difficulty. The parking area is spacious and has a restroom. No water or power.

Great, easy hike. Parking for those not pulling a horse trailer can be limited, so just be aware. Nice and quiet with a really pretty river crossing. This trail is for both hikers and riders and offers plenty for both.

These trails are awesome for a day ride with your horse, however, there are some Intersecting trails that can get you turned around, the marking at the bridge on the west loop needs to be better. Riders get confused on which way to go.
Also wish hikers knew that if they speak, they are less frightening to a horse instead of not speaking.

Where boots don't twist an ankle! Great for a secluded hike, cool trails, would be cooler on a horse. If it's been raining a lot you cannot get through the stream unless you get wet.. kinda added to the fun at least for my dog

Beautiful low difficulty hiking trails (4.0 miles - 1.5 to 2 hours for most people) ) great for horses and dog walking. Public bathroom available at the start.

This is a nice place to ride. The West Loop has a water crossing. There's a hitching rail and picnic table right by the crossing. The East Loop is currently closed for construction.
