Southern Style Barbecue & Fried Chicken

Great food and I label myself a bbq Connoisseur. I was very impressed with the barbecue, chicken, collard greens and green beans. Look forward to trying the other menu items soon. Samantha, the owner, made the experience even better!

There's a convenient drive through, and a walk up area to order for eating in. Indoor seating is in the building to the right, there are doors at the front and rear, and restrooms located inside. There's a little outdoor eating area as well.

I am from Clinton and absolutely love Southern Style anytime I visit home. The food is good country cooking at an affordable price. Be prepared to wait a little bit, especially in the drive thru during peak hours, but the wait is worth it. You can also order carryout ahead of time.

Had their chicken salad sandwich, fries and tea. The chicken salad was delicious. I don't like crinkle cut fries usually, these were just ok. Tea was just right. Will be happy to try something new, next time.

The drive through was pretty quick and you could smell hardwood smoking as you were waiting which was nice. Staff was super friendly. I ordered the BBQ/chicken combo platter with baked beans and potato salad and hush puppies. BBQ pork was pretty good, especially with some hot sauce. The fried chicken had good flavor and the sides were just okay. This is a great spot if you're looking for a quick meal that tastes like down home cooking. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you want and expect. Will be back again if I'm ever in the area.

Food is off the chain. Tradition southern cooking. Fried porkchop and collards are both insanely good.

Always good food and great service. I can never decide what I want because it's all so good so I got veggie plate because I want all the sides today. Best food ever.

Put this on your list of places to eat!! Located in Clinton N.C, it is sooo good. We get the 2 wing special. Sub collards for fries and hush puppies for roll. Have not tried the bar-b-que. Staff is always friendly. Highly recommend.

For a good old fashioned pork BBQ, this is your place. No fancy sauces, in fact, no sauce at all. None is needed. You can add hot sauce and vinegar provided if you need the extra kick. Sides are just as tasty, including the collards and slaw. Hush puppies that come with the plate are perfectly done, golden delicious. Green beans have just a hint of bacon but also a tad too much salt for my taste. However, not one was left when I finished. Our service was excellent, very nice staff and there was a steady flow of customers.

We drove from Raleigh they were on the news the weekend traveler. It was everything as promised. They were fast and friendly The food was fantastic. Hot and fresh. We had the 4 piece dark, ask for all legs and we were accommodated. We had two sides collards and potato salad. All fresh. And the hush puppies were amazing. And the sampler (wink wink) was fabulous, pulled pork and slaw with the chicken tenders. Oh my goodness. I ate so fast l didn't take a photo. Very reasonably priced. I can fry chicken but why this was so delicious, they have the recipe for great chicken.

GREAT BBQ!!! I love the flavor! What ever they have in their recipe, it's perfect! 👌🏼 The staff was friendly and they have a nice size dining area. I definitely recommend stopping by.

This place is the bomb!! I’m a truck driver I got stuck at the Smithfield here in Clinton. I wanted some good food so I have this place a shot and I am blown away. It’s so freaking good! Best food I’ve had in months. It is a must have and I will be stopping here whenever I can when I come through!!!

The food is always delicious. It was hot and as ordered. The line for the drive thru may be long but they are very fast and helpful. I have never had a bad experience here. We have used them where I work for catering and it is just as good if not better than getting individual plates. I would recommend Southern Style Chicken to everyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed bbq and fried chicken today. This was our first trip to this restaurant.
Once we figured out that you order and get your food in one building, then walk across to the separate dining room we were good. It was nice not smelling the kitchen while we ate.
This is a very busy drive-thru restaurant , but our dine in food was accurate and delivered to us at the window quickly .
We will be back!!!
