Authentic! Hidden gem. Food is amazing, coffee is perfect! We drove an hour and a half to have lunch, brought back sandwiches for my wife's father (who is from Cuba). Rum cakes are amazing!

Located right between the tennnessee and Georgia state line this little place is a gem of a gold mine. Who would have thought you would get amazing authentic Cuban food in this little town. The service is beyond exceptional and you can tell the people behind the counter care about their customers and their products. We stop here every single time we pass by.

Rum Cake Lady was a great place to get a meal after riding the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. We thought it’d be good with the long line but it was actually delicious. The Run Cake was also way more moist than we thought which was great.

The vegan Cuban was fantastic as well!

This place was so cool to visit! Very clean, organized, and beautifully decorated inside and out. My wife and I stopped by to grab it Togo and got a Cuban sandwich, a guava cheesecake, and lemon bar to share and it was all beyond our expectations! The sandwich could use a touch more garlicky flavor in our opinion but overall one of the best I’ve had in the state of Ga. The bread was amazing and the rest of sandwich was beautifully toasted and well balanced. The deserts both were also, very balanced and not overly sweet. Definitely worth a visit!

Being from the Tampa area, I've had a few Cubans over the past 15 years. This restaurant does the Cuban and espresso very well. The guava pastry was top 3 I've ever had and the Yuca fries were perfectly cooked.

Increible cuban food, they have many many selections to buy and eat, different desserts, plattes, drinks and souvenirs too. I'm glad to eat there the last weekend bc the papa rellena and the empanadas was so FANTASTIC, btw it's a few expensive if you buy more things than you can do, be safe and be sure the kind of plates and desserts than u would like to eat, i recommended all the sandwiches and bowls are really good, they have an amazing atmosphere with all the cuban decoration and souvenirs, i did my train tour trip to there and i left really pleasant, i recommend this place for the variety, relative faster to attend and good customer service 👍🇨🇺

I stopped by the Rum Cake Lady Cuban Cafe with my wife while staying in McCaysville. The atmosphere is simple and charming, with Cuban memorabilia decorating the walls. But the real highlight is the authentic Cuban food.

We ordered two Cuban sandwiches, yucca fries and plantains. The portions were large and we took plenty of leftovers back to the AirBNB cabin with us. The Cuban sandwiches were some of the best I've ever had, rivaling those in Miami. The roast pork was tender and flavorful, and the bread was grilled to perfection.

The yucca fries and plantains were also delicious, with the right balance of spices and seasoning. The cafe lives up to its reputation of serving up authentic Cuban food made with love, and we will definitely stop by again the next time we are here.

We LOVE the rum cake lady! The location in McCaysville is much larger & nicer than the Blue Ridge location. Staff is friendly, but we come for the food!!! The Tampa Cuban sandwich, pork bowl, chicken bowl, picadillo bowl & beef empanadas were our choices this time. Plus we grabbed a loaf of Cuban bread & some pork tamales to bring home. TRY THE GREEN SAUCE. It’s DELICIOUS. We can’t wait to come back & try some more amazing Cuban food.

Very cute seating indoors and out. The staff was very helpful and had great food suggestions!
We tried the bowls (great seasoned ingredients), tamales (fluffy and not dry), empanadas (flaky, fresh pastry and great tasting meats), rum cake (super fresh and moist), and tiramisu (best I've ever had!).
Everything we tried we were very impressed with! Will definitely be back!

Very delicious and authentic Cuban sandwiches with a variety of beverages to choose from. Very friendly staff accompanied by quick service. This brick and mortar is in a prime location at a T-intersection in town. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, but be aware of the train schedule, as they will get extremely busy on the weekends, and there is limited seating. Your best option for parking is across the street at the IGA grocery store.

There's a reason this place is talked about and highly rated...because they're worth it.
It was very busy. We waited about 8-10 mins in line and about 10-15 for our food.
We ordered 2 Cubans, 1 spicy beef empanada, 1 Papa Rellena 1 drink and 2 fries. After tip we paid about $46.
The Cubans are to die for... absolutely delicious. The empanada was very good as well. The papa rellena was a bit mushy and not my favorite thing.. the French fries were a bit over salted (finer and less salt would help) and a little bit stale tasting but still ok.
We ate inside which was not much cooler than outside if at all. Overall, the quality of the food was great and we will be eating here again.

So yummy! Wow just like back home we had the croquettes, empanadas and steak sandwich it was delicious and very tasty! Highly recommend!!!

We stopped here on our way back from Blue Ridge after meeting the owners at a chili festival. I had the vegan Cuban sandwich and my boyfriend had the Tampa sandwich. They were both so good! Definitely get a limoncello rum cake while you’re there, one of the best rum cakes I’ve had in my life!

The BEST authentic cuban sandwiches we've ever had and we have eaten cuban food in several areas. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and I had the Big Pan Con Bistec (steak sandwich). They were generous portions (enough for two meals each), and the flavor was awesome. The service was wonderful and very attentive. Be sure not to leave without getting some of her amazing rum cakes also.

Review: So this place is tucked in Blue Ridge, GA at the corner of one of their major intersections. Although its called the "Cake Lady"...don't let the name fool you, their food is wonderful. We both had the Cuban sandwich along with their Tamales and it was great. It tasted fresh and was very timely. We ordered the Cafe Con Leche and that was great also. If you are around these parts, give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed.

I'm from NY, where there are several legit Cuban restaurants & I've been to Miami several times where the Cubano cuisine is excellent considering they're not directly in actual Cuba. The cakes here are very good! The prices are fair, the atmosphere is pleasant. One would never think that out here in Georgia there would be this quality Cuban food culture but honestly, there is. I recommend coming in & trying their cakes, sandwiches etc.

My wife and I stopped by this locally owned authentic Cuban restaurant in McKaysville Georgia. We had empenadas, chicken with yellow rice and black beans/Cuban sandwich. The owner was very attentive and even brought dessert to us on the house. We bought a loaf of Cuban bread hot from the oven. I need to mention that they do catering and she makes a killer rum cake that can be ordered online and shipped to you. RUM CAKE LADY.COM.

Awesome place to grab some of the best Cuban sandwiches around. They have a great selection of empanadas, tamales and other delights as well. Great personable service, great prices, and a fast kitchen. Definitely a great quick lunch place.
