First time visiting and staying at the state park. Clean bathrooms, clearly marked signs throughout the park, and solid platforms for your tent or camper. We enjoyed staying here and will again. Boat ramps and marina available too.

Make sure to check the website photos of the campsite you pick so you know if it has a dip or a ramp for that platform as it may matter for your rig or setup. Only a few were steep either way. I liked the platform setup more than I thought I would. Better than the standard TN state park gravel pad. Except for the back country sites each has power and water hook up. The park also sells wood and ice at a central spot with dumpsters as well. They also have a gift shop with a small tower to climb for a view of the dam. At least two playgrounds for kids too. Many walking trails to explore and a small cemetery you can walk to. Go visit. It’s worth it.

This campground is off I 40, about 60 miles east of Nashville TN. We arrived on a warm late afternoon in March. Hiking trails, a marina, primitive walk in campsites, and a camp store are some of the offerings . Ice and firewood are available. We only spent one night but had time for a walk among the boulders on the shoreline. Really interesting rock formations everywhere, I’m guessing Tennessee fieldstone.
The ranger said spring ephemeral wildflowers were in bloom, although we didn’t have time for a woodland hike to see them. Even on a weekday in mid March many campsites were taken so definitely plan ahead with reservations for this state park.

Nice, quiet, and peaceful. First time here and I couldn't ask for a better stay. Very clean showers and restrooms.

Awesome place for Camping. Good hiking spots. Can do fishing as well. Very friendly environment. Made me realize how Israelite camped in the wilderness and how provided them everything.

Numbers 10:31
Then he said, “Please do not leave us, inasmuch as you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will be as eyes for us.

We had a great stay @ EESP. We originally booked it because of the elevated decks that serve as camp sites. Every spot on the water had a great view in my opinion. There is a lot of tree coverage to keep you cool in the summer. Lots of things to see and do in and out of the park, IF, you're into fishing, swimming, kayaking etc. Other than that, it's pretty remote. i was disappointed in the cell coverage by Verizon, but that doesn't reflect on the park itself. I do however, wish they could strengthen their wifi signal at the waterfront sites. I know it's camping but i work remotely and need to keep in touch with the outside world when we travel. I do recommend a stay at EESP if you're looking to get back to nature!

We had a primitive site. Those sites are a hike to get to but secluded. Centrally located water in the primitive area and no electricity. Bathhouses are very clean. There are another 51 sites designed for RV ise but could be used easily for a tent site.

We camped in site 44 in a Aliner Scout from 10/20/19-10/25/19. The site was fantastic! We really enjoyed the platform site. The only downside was the fire pit was on the side....our solution was a portable propane gas fire pit that worked great. The bathhouse was extremely clean and the campground was well maintained. We opted to take a pontoon boat fall color tour lead by a park ranger and it was definitely worth the $15 fee. Overall a beautiful state park, lake and campground.

Beautiful camp ground. Took a walk around and every single campground felt somewhat secluded with either a view of the lake or an elevated view of trees. Highly recommend!

Beautiful park, primitive camping is a little trek from your car to site but it's tucked in the trees to provide all day shade during the hot summer days. Short walk to lake side for swimming and fishing. Camp store fully stocked, great prices on firewood and ice and anything else you need.

Absolutely fantasic! wish we could stay longer. It was cold 25 for the low but even tent campers seemed not to mind. Will be back this summer to enjoy the lake! Site 13 very nice.

Fist time campers and didn’t know what to expect but this park was perfect. The bathrooms and showers were always clean, well lit, and near the campsites. Campsites had water and electricity (12 volt and 20 AMP outlets). Felt very safe and peaceful. Lots of parks and recreation areas you can explore (30 min-2hr drives). Check out the Center Hill Recreation Area that’s 5 minutes away from the camp. Definitely would stay here again.

Loved this Tennessee State Park! Totally different RV sites that were set on piers with some having like views like the one had. Close to Interstate 40 and Cookeville Tennessee. We stayed only one night and had reserved the spot for just a one night layover. Hook ups were water and power with a dump station available. Plenty of room on the spot we had for our 35 foot fifth wheel. Hope to stay here again in the future.

Camped at the primitive sites. They're nicely space and tree covered with the camp store, a bathroom, and playground nearby (in different directions). Enjoyed the shore for rock hunting and fishing.

This is a beautiful park. Many of the campgrounds sites have views of the lake. It is hilly terrain but the roads are well paved and the sites ate paved, level and well spaced. This is just a two night stopover as we are passing through but 8 hope to return for a longer visit some day.

I was worried that I'd left it too late to get a spot for camping, but the campground store was still open at 5:30, and they gladly rented me a great spot
