From the outside, you can see they are trying to be the Chinese wholefoods. Since they have the exact same signboard design. They have the best price and quality for vegetables and fruits in Chinatown in my comparison. Besides the groceries, the rice box on the left side (which they sell Chinese bbq) is really a hidden gem. I always order their 3 sides rice boxes, which cost me $6.99 per box. Besides the good price, the taste of their food had upgraded since 3 months ago. Personally recommend sweet and sour fried pork.

Didn't have enough time to check it out in detail but it's a nice Asian store. You can find flavors of chips, Oreos or foods you won't find anywhere else in Houston. Quite affordable as well and very clean.

UPDATE 1/2023:

WOW, they have really spiffed up the place! It's a whole new store. I may miss the old Chinese store smell, but the delicious aroma of Chinese food wafting over from the deli to greet me was a welcome smell. Everything looks more organized and feels more spacious. There are big neon signs to make finding areas like the butcher counter or natural foods easier. Yep, this is even more so my favorite Chinese grocery store!

I have to say that Welcome's renovation a year or so ago has improved its appearance and cleanliness.

I like seeing a security officer when I enter. When I make Chinese jerky, I always go to the meat counter as they say their meat, like pork, is local.

Welcome is a true Chinese grocery store. I find things here that will not be at the Korean HMart or at California-based Ranch 99. The staff may be mainly Chinese-speaking, but to me it gives an authentic vibe. Yes, you have to make sure things aren't expired and certain areas may smell, but that adds to the cultural experience.

It's so easy to swing by the deli area and scoop out of the pot of soaking tea eggs just one for a quick snack.

My very, very favorite prepared food item is the leaf-wrapped, string tied guongdong rice "tamale." It has at least half a dozen delicious, savory ingredients that have been boiled in rice for hours! I remember devouring similar homemade doong that my mother used to make in my childhood. There are other doong there, but this one is flavorful and filling. The last one I bought was still warm, so I sat in my car and straightaway devoured it!!!

My all time favorite place to be at. The lunch box of beef tendon and BBQ pork is something that is unbeatable in both taste and price.

Stopped by this market after having lunch in the same square. Absolute hidden gem. Huge selection of vegetables, meat, seafood, ingredients, etc. and so well organized and clean. Very easy to find what you’re looking for. Good prices too.

Large supermarket with wide variety of Asian (mainly Chinese) goods, including fresh produce, baked products and live seafood. There is also a small Chinese pharmacy.

Free ice in the seafood section was handy for keeping our fresh food cold on the drive back to SA.

Very nice Asian supermarket, newly updated everywhere.

Really cool Asian market. Plenty of things to buy and the lunch area to the left is very cheap and high quality.

I don't live in the area but if I did I would frequent this store very often.

So much to choose from and very cheap!

They sell delicious hot food to go in the back of the store for a very reasonable price too. Chicken curry, BBQ pork and spicy pork on a bed of steamed rice.

I can't believe I didn't know about this gem! My grandmother (born and raised in Osaka Japan) used to bring home a lot of these ingredients. Finding Rose rice and Japanese style Mochi was reminiscent of my childhood. Welcome food center brought back the best memories of my grandma, and for that I will be forever greatful!!

Unique to American grocery stores, amazing vegetables, seafood, and meat departments. The store itself was clean, organized, and well stocked. Something else I noticed is that not just the front row of can and bottled goods front faced, the entire shelf is front faced front the front of the shelf to the back. Almost NEVER see this in American stores. Also, nearly NO damaged cans on the shelf either. Something ylone can see in beauty every sku in your local store.
