Terry Hershey Park is undeniably one of the most breathtaking parks in Houston, consistently delivering an abundance of joy and tranquility every time I visit with my fur babies. The extensive bike trail allows for leisurely walks with the added bonus of people-watching, creating a delightful atmosphere where my dogs can interact and have a blast.

The trail spans a generous three miles, providing ample opportunities for exercise and healthy workouts. Surrounded by a plethora of trees, the park remains shaded, making it a pleasant escape from the summer heat. The artistic allure of the old trees with intricate roots adds to the overall charm, creating an atmosphere that feels like a serene paradise, especially with the gentle sound of the nearby river.

Spring and summertime adorn the park with a vibrant display of flowers, creating a picturesque setting for various activities. Photographers often capture the beauty of the expansive, empty areas, offering a stunning backdrop for memories. The overall scenery is diverse, and people engage in a variety of activities, from peaceful walks to courteous biking.

Speaking of bicyclers, their polite demeanor adds to the park's welcoming ambiance. The atmosphere is not just suitable for workouts but also for relaxation, hanging out with friends, or enjoying a leisurely stroll. The park caters to all, including kids and dogs, with dedicated areas such as water fountains, making it a truly remarkable destination in Houston. Terry Hershey Park is an absolute gem, offering a perfect blend of nature, beauty, and recreational opportunities. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an amazing park experience.

Love walking here. It feel safe, plenty of other people and it is absolutely beautiful. Long stretch to get miles on the fitness tracker easily. Paved paths are great after rains too. Wildflowers are blooming this time of year for great family photos.

Nice clean park/trail for running/walking/biking. I recently started biking here and the trail is about 6 miles each way; making it one of the better trails around Katy for daily workout activities. Could be a little busy in the afternoons but overall it’s a nice and quiet trail

Known for its scenic beauty and recreational amenities, Terry Hershey Park stretches along Buffalo Bayou, offering a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling city of Houston. Lush greenery, native vegetation, and quite a few well-maintained, paved and nature walking/hiking/running/jogging/biking trails (including both Out-and-Back like Mockingbird Trail and loops) characterize this natural haven.

Have been to this park before for walking the trails but today was the first day to come by for a picnic. The park wasn't busy and there were some picnic tables available. Luckily a gazebo was open and we had lunch there; it felt like our own private picnic area. There were restrooms nearby and they were clean. Instead of serious exercise, we just walked around a little inside the park and enjoyed watching critters and nature.

Soooo this park is almost kind of ducked off and under the highway. The parking lot is literally under the beltway. Buttt.... it's a great park for exercising, taking a nice walk, bringing the kids out after a sugar rush, etc. There's a long trail for walking or bike riding. It's let and kid friendly and a pretty nice size playground with on site restrooms. You have to take the trail to get deeper in the park though. I like that even in busy days most people come do their own thing and then leave so there's a steady flow of people coming and going which helps when you want to find a parking spot!

I love this park for running and road cycling. There is an option to go off road mountain biking. The pedestrian traffic does get a bit congested on the weekend and cooler spring/fall weekends. Between the months of February through April, there are several patches of bluebonnets throughout the park. There is a bit of construction along the park, closer to the Beltway, but this should clear up sometime around 2026.

This is my favourite place to take long walks and appreciate nature. You’re sure to find squirrels and bunnies on your walk/run. Great for bikes and kids too.

This is a beautiful park. It's surrounded by nature. The path gives you an opportunity to get steps in for health purposes or for leisure. Usually there are a lot of people there either walking or riding bikes, but it isn't crowded because it's a big park.

This is my go to park when I want to take a leisurely bike ride, it's well paved and I enjoy the hilly trail which adds a little excitement. It's right next to buffalo bayou so it's a very scenic.

This is the only park I know of where you park under the highway. So right away, it's a big plus. Who wants to get into a oven after a walk or run?

The paths are all asphalt, the main one hugging the bayou. It's also got a lot of tree coverage and flat, grassy areas that are great for picnics. Once're away from the highway, the park becomes peaceful. It's easy to forget you're only a couple of miles away from Energy Corridor.

Some of the wildlife includes jack rabbits, turtles, fish, squirrels, lizards and heron. From June, the fireflies come out.

I absolutely love this park with its picturesque setting and well-maintained long walking path. The lush greenery, serene atmosphere, and thoughtful landscaping make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The path is ideal for a leisurely stroll or an invigorating jog, offering a refreshing experience for nature enthusiasts. The attention to detail in maintaining the park's cleanliness and the presence of benches along the way add to the overall charm. Whether you're seeking tranquility or an active outdoor session, this park has it all, earning it a solid 5-star rating in my book!

What a nice place. Easily accessible, right next to I10. Nice green space, beautiful scenery, bike trails, a pond, child playground, beautiful patio. You can expect to see birds, squirrel, rabbits and more creature. Place is crowded in the weekend, better option to visit on weekdays.

I spent my afternoon here relaxing. The location is great- and is relatively quiet and peaceful considering it is near the highway. The wildlife is abundant and the area seems mostly well-kept. I would recommend this park to any biker, jogger, or family that wishes to unwind somewhere beautiful and serene.

One of the best running and bike parks around. 6.5 miles along the Bayou stretching from the Beltway to Highway 6. You can follow it into Bush Park as well or take the elderidge leg up to the addicks Reservoir for extra miles. There are plenty of places to stop and sit, a few water refill spots as well. The south side of the Bayou though not technically part of the park has great trails to hike or Bike. The bike portion is pretty serious so if your not good with 20foot jumps or technical riding I would stay on foot. I am here every week or so and It is very rarely crowded like I see in other parks, probably due to the length and hard to find parking areas. It's mainly populated by the surrounding neighborhoods and apartments. Some good spots to park can be found at a complex off Dairy Ashford, Elderidge at memorial drive or under the beltway on the northbound side. I have heard it's to be avoided at night but that's probably good advice for all city parks.
