Mike's Real Pit Bar-B-Que

I stopped in via a Google search for BBQ while I was nearby. The ratings were great so I gave it a shot. There is a lot out back with plenty of parking.

I dropped in between lunch and dinner and had the place to myself. I tried the 3 meat plate with brisket, turkey, and ribs. All of the meats were great, but surprising to me (since I prefer brisket), the ribs were my fav and they paired very well with the homemade BBQ sauce. The prices were very reasonable.

The fine folks running the establishment were very warm, conversational, and made me feel right at home. I took some leftovers to-go, along with some additional sauce :) . I'll be back when in the area.

I stopped by based on reviews I read. I had brisket and a hot link with green beans and pinto beans as my sides. All of my food was really good. The pinto beans were particularly flavorful. Including a bottle of water and the tip my bill was less than $16

Oh boy this was a treat!

Sauce, it is all about the sauce. Not to sweet it too sour. Not to hot not too mild. Not to think and not to thin.

It is amazing that the sauce is gold colored because it really is the Goldilocks of just right.

The meats (ribs and brisket this time) were well prepared.

The service was fantastic and made us feel like home even though thousands of miles away. Mike was kind and very generous.

We can't wait to return!

If you're in the area and need some good bbq Mike's is the place to stop. It may not look like much on the outside but the grub definitely makes up for the curb appeal. I got the one meat plate and subbed my 2 sides for one large baked potato. Drink, taxes and all came to about 16.50 which isn't bad considering the cost of meat currently. The bbq sauce wasn't what I would consider traditional or typical but was good all the same. Not a single bad thing to say about the food. Walked away very full, wondering how I'm going to finish the work day with this food baby.

The owner is a very nice person who makes sure that you are served plenty of food. The food is very good and plenty. The atmosphere was nice and home felt. I will go back and tell others about it.

I used to Drive long haul Tractor trailer, solo , cross country. I have eaten BBQ in every Bbq restaurant across the entire United States ! One day as many I was looking for a place to eat and a place big enough I could park my loaded truck ! My eyes saw a big dusty dirt parking lot with a BBQ sign ! Yup I said have not been here but have heard other drivers talk good things about this place! My honest opinion of Mikes is just this …. The Absolute Best BBQ in the Country! Hands down ! Thanks Mike and bbq crew !

The best rib and brisket I’ve have ever tasted! Yummy 🤤 great portions too! Everything was delicious! The corn, the baked beans and baked potato! Met Mike the owner great guy! The atmosphere is just perfect for a BBQ joint in Texas! Once the sell out they closeup for the day so get there early!

Far from home, I was looking for someplace to eat dinner when I cam across Mike's. I knew it was going to be good when 2 older gentlemen came in looking for ribs. The owner greeted them and immediately informed them that he was out of ribs. It is a good sign when they BBQ place runs out of product. I ordered a BBQ slice sandwich and it was amazing. The sauce was great. I was told that the place has been around for 50 years and the sauce has been to outer space with NASA. It was out of this world. If you haven't been, check it out. It was good to see a restaurant owner take pride in his business and care about his customers.

This has been a staple for our family for 30 years! Food is always great & customer service is top notch.

I always go through the Drive-In window my favorite is baked potato with all the trims and with brisket on it. It is a pretty big baked potato and very delicious yummy.

The only BBQ I will go to. It's the best and reasonably priced. Worth the money you spend.

Best Barbeque ever. Super nice employees and awesome food. Definitely got our money's worth. We had the Lone Star Special. It was awesome. Loved it. Definitely going back again!!

Phenomenal ribs!!! Highly recommended. Plus the place closes at 2pm!!! You know if they can close the doors that early and still be in business that they are doing spectacular work. I will be back 👍

Found this place and decided to give it a try. Really good ribs and a subtle spice sauce that has literally been out of this world (ask the owner).
Would definitely visit again.

This place is delicious. I got the baked potato with two meats and it was freaking delicious. Wish they had something like this back in Chicago.

Best barbecue I've ever had. Don't judge this place by it's outside appearance. The food is amazing and the Father, daughter that run this family business are very friendly and accommodating. Don't skip the barbecue sauce it really compliments the meat. Had brisket, pulled, pork and turkey sausage and the portions were huge. My friend had the same but added the loaded potatoe that was ginormous. Will be back on my next trip!!!

I got the sausage sandwich lunch special with coleslaw and pinto beans. The sandwich was basic but great, texas toast with some sweet and smokey sausage and sauce and a pickle to top it off. The coleslaw was light, fresh, and flavorful. The beans were the best barbecue beans I've ever had. I'd recommend to anyone for a quick cheap delicious lunch in Grand Prairie

My true rating would be about 4.5. The ribs and sauce have been great. The potato salad has been very good. Some of the other sides have been medium.

Overall value for the money: very good. Nice portions of very good food for the cost.

Incredible real deal BBQ. The sauce is to die for!
I had the half chicken plate with baked beans, coleslaw, and fried cabbage. All was delicious and finished it all off with peach cobbler, the good kind with more crust that filling.
Service was impeccable and I was able to speak to Mike direct to give him my compliments.
Pricing is amazingly inexpensive. All that I ate and a sweet tea was around 10 bucks. He also gave me a couple of ribs to try out, tender fall off the bone done in a dry rub first. Can't go wrong here folks. Don't go to the chain ones support this local business and enjoy Legit BBQ
