Austin Energy - City of Austin Utilities

I wiped out on my bike today near a crew doing some trimming around powerlines on the Walnut Creek hike a bike trail. The guys were all so helpful, kind and compassionate. Running over to help and waiting with me until they knew I was doing OK. Their care was authentic and immediate. We need more of that kind of kindness spreading around the world these days.

Whoever I talked to last (7/20/2023), give her a raise and a promotion. The world needs more people like this and especially utilities companies where the service hasn’t been as kind all the time. She stood out with her humanity/empathy/humility — and made a huge difference today in helping me manage a billing issue. Thank you for your kindness.

The City of Austin Utilities has been the most efficient, reliable service provider through storms, pandemics and a city growing so fast it is almost hard to fathom, much less keep up with. They are also a major positive in out City budget. Thank You and keep up the good work....from a customer since 1975.

These folks will work with you. Or you can sign up for bill help. Especially since the last freeze the interest charges or late charges have been waived. And this helps us all. Yes it shouldn't happen, yes we weren't prepared enough. But life is trial and error at your expense city of Austin utilities still get a high rating from me. It's the governor that I have issues with!!!

I am so thankful for Austin Energy!!! Even though our power has been out for several days I am thankful that there were so many people working behind the scenes during really rough conditions (in the freezing and wet weather) to help restore electricity everywhere in Austin. I can’t imagine how hard the past week has been for you all and thankful that we just got the message our power has been restored! Stay safe and thank you for your hard work.

Biggest shoutout to Ms. Adrian who helped me through out the process of transferring my service from one place to another via phone call. Her level of Customer service is beyond amazing!

She provided all the information I need PER DETAIL which was extremely helpful! I didn’t know that this whole transfer service is as easy as Making a Maruchan ramen. I’m no even kidding. I appreciate it so much!

Customer service has always been helpful and friendly. Josy was really awesome with answering my questions on the phone. Budget billing (the option to set your utility bill as the average based on your usage for the previous 6 months, so it’s the same every time) was really nice because I could set it to autopay and know exactly what was being withdrawn every month.

i spoke with a “brianna” or “brionna” on the phone this morning and i have to say she set the bar as high as it goes for her amazing customer service, attentiveness and overall kindness. she really made my day and i hope she receives recognition for her great attitude and empathetic and effective customer service skills. i really felt like my needs were met and that i was handled with the best of care. thank you all and i sincerely hope the associate that assisted me today will be notified of her positive impact on me. the value of positive interactions of this nature cannot be understated.

They called and said it looked like my water bill was going to be high in Feb, and that they were sending someone to check on it. At the meter it showed that there was a trickle somewhere, and the guy found a small crack on a timer that had frozen in the recent cold weather. That was extremely proactive and saved me some money, and central Texas some scarce water. Thank you Austin Energy!

People seem to have some strong negative opinions about Austin Energy, but I've needed to work with their customer service department multiple times, and each time, I found them very pleasant! I worked w Peter most recently who helped us transfer services, and I thought he was great!

I have never had any bad experience with Austin Utilities. Their reps are very professional and friendly. Their emails are very informative.
In my experience, with several different state entities, this one is very nice. :)

I would like to take a minute to say the customer service reps are very helpful and nice. (even when the bill issue was my fault) they were able to work with me and prevent my service from getting disconnected. (I need to be better at getting names)

They pick up my trash, recycling, and compost from the street! Can you believe it! Right at the curb. Also, the water is taste great! Thanks COA workers.

Easy to navigate and access to pay my bills, so GREATFUL to pay online saves me time and gas. Thank you City of Austin, stay blessed and abundant always.
