The Guild Zilker Park | Lamar Union

It's nice. We stayed with family as a week long rental. I think the rooms were fairly clean and we weren't too bothered by outside noise but some better instructions in the garage would be helpful. The use of space is strange.. big bathroom with no counter space. The living room was tiny with only one couch to sit in. The bar chairs were regular height so not comfortable to sit there either. Electrical outlets were mostly all blocked by furniture. Dumb things really. A little better planning would have been nice.

Had the absolute best stay here, I was super nervous about it being an apartment complex when my husband booked it! It’s probably the cleanest hotel we have stayed in in a while. Also the amenities that they provide are awesome, ladies I’m talking about make up remover wipes already provided in the bathroom. This Hotel made it so easy for us to travel with our daughter, we were able to hang out in the other room and not have to go to sleep at 8 PM just because she did since usually we are all in the same hotel room. We will definitely be staying here again.

This place was fantastic! The location had everything you could ask for tons of food and entertainment options right out of your doorstep as well as free parking. The apartment itself was beautiful, love the decorations especially the monkey lamp! It was bright, open, airy and cozy and had every single amenity you could ask for. I especially loved the little private balcony for awesome morning coffee provided! They were also extremely on top of communication! It was great to be able to text them and get an instant response when I couldn't figure out parking. They were super helpful, attentive, and friendly the whole stay. I for sure plan to stay here from now on each time work or play takes me down to Austin!

Loved this place! It was so convenient. The room was apartment sized and so much better than a hotel. It has everything you need including a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The staff is very helpful and responds via text within seconds to any questions. Great pool and lots of places nearby to eat. There's even a fabulous salon, Jose Luis right there too! Don't hesitate to try the Guild. It is awesome!

Had a wonderful stay over here for my birthday! They will literally provide you with step by step details on how to check in, find your room, etc. I really was impressed by how organized it was, especially with people actually living there and people just renting out rooms. The room was really cool, I loved the plaque it had on the wall with popular places in Austin. I would definitely stay here again, it's in a wonderful location!

I was a little hesitant to stay at this unconventional "hotel" but I'm so glad we decided to stay here on our vacation. The apartment unit we stayed in was comfortable, quiet, over-looked the pool, had a great view of downtown, and was well-decorated with works by local artists. The apartment is stocked with everything you could possibly need and if there is something you want that's not available, there is plenty of helpful information around the unit. Still can't find what you want, just text the staff and they'll respond instantaneously!
We did have some issues with parking as our parking pass didn't work to open the gate, but luckily every tenant we ran into was helpful and let us in the gate.
We'll definitely stay at another Guild property in the future!

Great location.
Easy parking.
Elevators are quick and large.
Air is noticeably clean and refreshing.
Hallways are clean and make you feel like you're in a contemporary art museum if that makes sense.
Rooms are great.
There is a park with lots of dogs.

My husband and I stayed at The Guild Lamar Union in Austin for his birthday weekend. It’s was so good! Check in was a breeze and we LOVED the location! The apartment itself was beautifully decorated and clean. My only issues, if you’d even call them that, are that because it’s an apartment complex, the actual residents may have dogs and the hall carpets weren’t exactly squeaky clean. I have allergies so I noticed but most wouldn’t. Also, our “neighbors” were up late Saturday night into the mid morning with music and obnoxiously loud political conversations lol. This isn’t something that would stop us from staying here again though, we’ll be back! Thanks to Andrew for helping us!

This was probably the best hotel experience ever. The place was extremely clean comfortable, and centrally located. I didn't meet any of the staff, but they were very friendly and helpful via email and text. I felt very at home and enjoyed getting ready in the morning to some vinyl. I was a little skeptical about how the process of checking in and out would be, but it was super simple. Thank you to the Guild Lamar Union! I will definitely be back to Austin and will be staying there again as well as telling my fellow Canadians about this place. Cheers!

Long review....
Where do I begin, how do I begin... This place is beautiful, located in the south of Austin near ziker Park which is another review on its own. You will be surrounded by everything you might be looking for and a few surprises to go along with. There is an abundance of food trucks all within walking distance. In the same square "block" they have a few shops a bar and lounge and movie theater, all within eye sight.
On to the building 4 levels high but the 1st one are shops the other 3 are apartments. Most residents are permanent, but some rent out the apt. But Don't let this discourage you everyone was super friendly. Outdoor areas and hang outs are aplenty. Pool looked delicious but I didn't take a dip but I did have a great workout at their gym facility, the wife and I enjoyed it to ourselves. I only stayed one night and didn't have time to do it all.
Onto the rooms. Very modern, very clean, very useful. The apt. Is small but no space is wasted, the living room has a queen sized sofa bed just in case. The kitchen and living room are together but well defined. The bedroom has a king size bed where the Mrs. our kiddo and I slept through the night. Restroom has a laundry room hidden in plain sight. It was an amazing stay.

Awesome place. As it is in a residential building, it definitely feels more homey than a typical hotel. It's basically an entire, small, one bedroom apartment. Great decor, comfy bed, and the turntable topped off a great experience.

AMAZING! the apartment was lovely and nicely taken care and in the best spot for restaurants and shops. Above and beyond that, even though via text, the Guild Team was so unbelievably nice, and helpful with absolutely everything. I don't think I have ever had such a wonderful stay!

Great location -- you're across the river from downtown and just a few minutes from Zilker Park and Barotn Springs. The unit is spacious and clean, with a full kitchen and a washer dryer. The pool is also awesome. Check in was super easy despite there not being a front desk, and The Guild staff are super responsive via text if you have questions. Parking isn't free anymore, but we were able to find street parking within a few blocks throughout the weekend. Highly recommend!

Bright and spacious accommodations. Slept so well in the ultra comfortable king sized bed. Plenty of food options right outside the front door. Enjoyed Lick ice cream, Medici Coffee. Walking distance to many other places. We went to Tiny Pies and Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company. Looking forward to checking out properties in other cities.

I loved Lamar Union and would definitely go back again. The location and the view from the pool was amazing. The Guild staff was friendly and they have many other locations. If your in Austin definitely check them out. I loved the style and layout of the apartment.

Great Apartment/Hotel stay experience for 3 nights. A fully furnished 1 bedroom apartment. full kitchen and laundry room. Full gym and great pool area especially on weekend. it is hopping/fun. 5-10 minute ride to east 6th and Rainey street. The price was very reasonable. Staff was wonderful and very attentive! I will definitely stay here again!!!!!!!

I took my girlfriend to Austin for a birthday trip and we rented a loft here at the guild. I highly recommend staying here if you come to austin. It’s in the prefect location with near by shops and places to eat, not to mention the movie theatre right outside the property door. It was as just outside the city so you’re not very far from beer gardens or rainy street. It had unique decoration which added character with modern touches. We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit Austin!

Best hotel experience everrr and we come to Austin every year. Great location (we walked to Alamo Drafthouse, Shake Shack, Ramen Tatsu-ya, and so much more) and it was a 5min drive to downtown. Room was beautiful, clean, and quiet with great WiFi. We were in building 2 so to park we used the Treadwell st entrance and went up to the lobby. We checked in before 5pm so that we could get a key fob from the front desk. Not sure how we would have gotten one after 5pm when the lobby closes. Pool was fantastic and the view of the Austin skyline is amazing! LOVE that we can text them anything that we needed! Already planning our next stay.

Lovely apartment with large, very comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Given very detailed instructions for finding the place and getting in. Location isn't great, not much within normal walking distance.

This is apartment living for hotel rates, and it's a brilliant concept. I don't need room service. I don't really need a concierge, or want a special account for wifi while traveling. Guild eliminates all this and focuses on providing a home base for travelers.

Immaculate premises. Full size appliances, from fridge to washer/dryer. Super comfy furnishings, lots of nice touches like extra pillows, sheet and towels...a dish towel in the kitchen...locally roasted coffee for the coffee maker, and a simple but classy set of plates and mugs for four, along with glasses and utensils and flatware and such. Smart TV in bedroom and living room...I signed into my Netflix account and caught up on a film I hadn't seen yet (note to future guests: don't forget to sign out of your Netflix/Prime/Hulu/whatever account before checking out).

The people who run Guild are just terrific! I arrived in Austin way early, and they offered to let me stash luggage at their office while I got oriented, then they drove it over to the unit as soon as it was available. So sweet! Very helpful, responsive, and in every way guest-oriented.

I know I'm gushing here. But I am so impressed by the notion of the whole Guild enterprise, and then the execution and the very personable people who run it. Bravo. I look forward to returning.
